Author has written 11 stories for Harry Potter. I recently relised that I check out an authors profile before reading their story A LOT... to see if I can get an idea about who they are and what their story might be like. So with that in mind, the following is what you should know about me :) I'm 31 year old, married woman. I work in Insurance claims, but I have a BA (gained many years ago) and I'm going back to University next year to study psychology. I worry about calories constantly, but rarely excercise and eat pretty much what I like anyway... I have a ginger and white cat who rules my home with an iron paw and I have a couple of other stories that are posted on Portkey.org which haven't been posted here because they are unfinished and unlikely to ever be finished. H/Hr are my OTP and they only ship I've written. I have written 1 non shippy story (Harry Potter and the Prime Minister of England) only, but I am considering branching out and doing a Harry/Daphne or a Lily/James. You will find plenty of non-shippy stories on my favourites list, and even the odd one or two where Harry is paired with someone who isn't Hermione (like Daphne or Luna). I don't dislike Ginny or Ron, but I don't have a lot of time for them either. You won't see any bashing in my stories, and it's unlikely you'll see it in any of the stories on my favourites list... absenteeism yes, bashing no. You'll never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever see Ron/Hermione as a pairing in any story I write or list among my favourites. The closest I ever get to that is it being mentioned in a third party sort of way but never actually witnessed in scene. I cannot stomach it, I will not read it. *blech* I love true romance... the awkwardness, the tension, the slow burn of infatuation as it turns into something more, the internal struggle of the charachter as they try to fight their changing feelings and then finally, at last, that moment when the hurdle is overcome and the victory, and it's rewards are at their sweetest... *sigh* :-) I've recently read a Harry/Daphne Greengrass story that I really love and I'm on the hunt for more. So far I haven't discovered any others that have floated my boat in quite the same way but I haven't stopped looking yet. What I really liked about the story was the whole secret romance and then the whole school finds out and is really shocked, I also like that Daphne was an "ice queen" who melts because of Harry, and I liked that she had to completely revise her previous opinion of him... once she got to know him. I don't like it when she changes him too much, and would prefer to read one that takes place after Voldemorts defeat. So if you know any stories that might fit that criteria please PM me with a recommendation. I've seen it written on some forums that this is a bit of a cliche but I've yet to find any that fit the bill! I'd also also really like to read a James/Lily story where "that day by the lake" was to James what the declined proposal at Hunsford Parsonage was to Mr Darcy. I've read so many stories where James asks Lily out again and again from 3rd year on and only changes after he's been made Head Boy. I think the changes must have started from 6th year though, otherwise he wouldn't have made head boy in the first place, and I'd really like to read a story that shows some genuine growth and maturity on his part. If I can't find these stories, or inspire someone else to do the hard work and write them :), then I may do it myself eventually... | |||||||
