Hey kids, I'm back! (May 6th, 2008)
Maybe you'd noticed, maybe you hadn't. No, I didn't storm off in a huff because An Unforeseen Consequence wasn't getting enough reviews: Nor did I succumb to writer's block, the tenuous filaments of my storytelling dissolving like soap bubbles in a man's grasp.
Put shortly, I got distracted. It happens. It happened before on the verge of the conclusion to Loss, Hope & Redemption, then again when I hit the halfway mark for An Unforeseen Consequence. It will likely happen in the future, my account sitting dormant for months at a time as the well-oiled gears of my writing machine lay unturned. Rest assured that these breaks, as distressing as you may find them, are always temporary absences.
Since I've got no update, the sixth chapter of A Duet of Fists languishing in it's mostly complete state as my ADD turns my attention elsewhere, I thought I'd let you know what I've got in the docket. These are in no particular order, by the way.
- Loss, Hope & Redemption is getting a much needed rewrite. I hate revising my own work, but the more I go back and read it, the larger the gaps grow and the more unbearable the many mistakes become. Once I've gotten a few chapters coated with a new shade of paint, I'll start releasing this on a weekly basis. My outline has me worried, the projected wordcount doubling the story's original length and adding several chapters of completely new material.
- An Unforeseen Consequence is also getting a rewrite, which merges the present chapters into fewer, though lengthier pieces. It also has new material. No projection on when this is getting pushed out, as I intend to just repost the whole thing when the newest chapter is finished.
- A Duet of Fists is going to get a solid rewrite for the first three chapters, in addition to the new chapters being released. Like Loss, Hope & Redemption, the story seems to have grabbed me enough to inspire a burst of the sort of productivity I'm usually incapable of directing towards the projects I'd like to work on. So expect more soon, as well as better versions of the beginning.
That should about cover it.
Cheers,
Gaming Ikari
Other stuff:
Below is a link to a sketch I did. This was done using a black Papermate Write Bros pen. As you can imagine, these things aren't all that great for drawing artwork. Neither is my scanner, and I had to do a bit of cleaning with MS Paint. I might get around to porting this to my work's computer and finishing it with Photoshop.

Holy Crap! I got fanart! This lovely submission comes from a lovely girl in Texas, who said she felt like doing something dor the story. So enjoy Ranma's confrontation with Fang Shou. Thanks Jessica!
