I am a US Army Broadcast Journalist stationed in The Republic of Korea. I have been in the Army for seven years. I do a radio program here on the Pen and have, through the Army, managed to travel all over the world-Japan, Guam, Korea, Alaska, Mexico, Ireland, Czech Republic, Kuwait, The Philippines, Indonesia, Mongolia, Thailand, and Hawaii. I also did a year long tour in Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division(Air Assault).
I write stories that are angsty and sometimes make people upset. I don't set out to make people upset but the fact is the world is not always a nice place. I hope you can appreciate I do not set out to write a torture fic or an angsty fic for the sheer pleasure of hurting someone. I am actually a very mild mannered person and probably the least violent person you will ever meet. Writing is a way to deal with things I have seen and been exposed to in the world.
I like long fics and will read almost any type of well written fiction. I have a low threshold for poorly written fics. I am dyslexic and if I can adhere to the rules of writing so can you.
I was recently diagnosed with a chronic lower back condition that leaves me in a great deal of daily pain. I don't know how this will affect my career but please understand that I am not always physically up to write. I do a line here or there and some fics are going more slowly than others. I do appreciate when people read and respond to my fics as that is some of the best narcotics in the world.
I do use a beta but don't always catch my mistakes. If you catch something please let me know and I will make the corrections. I am also willing to beta read other folk's works-especially fictions dealing with or pertaining to military custom and traditions. I have a fairly good grasp of Army doctrine and if I don't know the answer right out I have people who served with Washington's Army at my disposal.
My favorite shows are Quantum Leap, House MD, Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Life, Law & Order SVU and Criminal Intent.
