Origin of penname: too many people have asked whyI have such a weird penname, so I'll tell you so that you don't ask me. Lilikoi in Hawaiian means "passion fruit". The last part of my penname is koi fish. You've heard of a koi fish, right? Now, if I kept my name like that, it would be Lilikoikoifish. so, i combined both words to create Lilikoifish. here are the translations:

1. Lilikoi fish (passion fruit fish)

2. Lili koi fish (Lily koi fish)

Pairings I dislike

The only pairings I dislike are KratosRaine (ToS), ClessMint (ToP), and HirumaMamori (Eyeshield 21). The sad part is that I know there is a relatively large fanbase for all 3 of these pairings (esp the last one). I don't hate them with a burning passion and wish them and their fans to burn in hell (how the crap can a pairing burn anyway). They just don't appeal to me.

I GIVE REVIEWS! I love giving reviews. I usually review people based on problems I myself have been called out for doing, so while I suppose one could call me a hypocrite, I don't want people making the same mistakes I did. So far, I've gotten a lot of grateful feedback from authors that I have reviewed, so yeah.

Also, I'm totally active as a beta reader. Just not a writer. XDDDD

Here is some advice to people who get/have been flamed:

My number one point is: DON'T MISTAKEN A CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM FOR A FLAME! I cannot stress that fact enough. I have given constructive crits to many people, and I get replies like this: "OMG, how could you flame me! u suk so bad! i hope u burn in hell! my parents just got divorsed and im havin a bad time rite now! u hav no rite 2 flame me!" A constructive criticism points out weaknesses, but it also tells you how to improve/fix them. A constructive crit may or may not tell you your strong points and encourage you to keep writing.

A flame on the other hand, only spouts insults at you and usually uses a chock-full of cuss words. He/she will often times insult the writer him/herself. A flame will not tell you how to fix your weak points...and in fact, it hardly even STATES what the weak points are. It will probably only state that your fic sucks or your are a dumb (ahem). DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THEM. Ignore them. Don't let them get to you. I have been flamed many times, and trust me, I have cried from these. This is what the flamers want. My second big tip: DON'T SEND THEM AN ANGRY REPLY OR FLAME THEIR FICS FOR REVENGE. If you do happen to read one of their fics and don't like it (and put that in a review), expect that they'll assume you're reviewing for revenge. Anyway, DON'T SEND THEM AN ANGRY REPLY TO A FLAME EVER. They especially like this and laugh at it. They don't care about you or if you improve on a fic. The only thing you can do is use their review as a chance to get better to show them you're not as crappy as they think. Send them a gracious review like this: "Thank you for your nice review. I will use it to improve my fics." They won't respond. Trust me. Flamers rarely respond to anything except a bad review that you give them.

Oh...two more things. If you just HAVE to respond angrily to a flame, NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER DRAG YOUR PERSONAL LIFE INTO THINGS. THEY DON'T CARE. Age isn't an excuse. If you say you're 11, they're just respond that you shouldn't even be ON fanfiction because you're supposed to be at least 13 to join. If your parents just got divorced, that sucks, but you can't use that as an excuse. A divorce between parents isn't something everyone's going to care about. That's your personal life, and this is fanfiction. The flame/review is about your fic, not your personal life. My last point is that if you tell them that it's fanfiction and you can write whatever plot you want, that won't help you. They'll just say it must be pretty crappy fanfiction then.

In conclusion, just accept the flame as a way to improve if you are really offended by it. Everyone needs to be open to the negative point of view. But if you ignore it, good for you. You're avoiding conflict between you and another author. No one needs anymore stress that we've already got from school.
