I woke to the sound of my Sailor Moon alarm clock for the first time since the accident. I starred out the dusty window at the pink morning sky and prayed to god about how thankful I was to be home and to feel the warmth and comfort of my bed beneath me and not a cold hospital bed that gives you shivers. I couldn’t remember the last time I had a pleasant dream.

I don’t remember much of what had happened, but I’m glad it’s over. I do, however, remember a small voice that echoes through my head at night. I am confused as to whom it is; I try to ignore it.

I got out of my bed and relished in the warm air in the room. It makes me wonder how I survived in the frozen air of the past.

I’m going to school today, but I’ll have to repeat the year anyway; either that or summer school. I missed too many days, but I’m going anyway to see my friends who will be waiting for my return with big hugs, warm smiles, and lame balloons that say, “Welcome Back!” Of course, Nicole, my weird, Goth-punk friend, will probably give me a button that reads, “Glad you’re not dead!”

Rachel called me last night giving me the scoop on everything I needed to know. Stuff like, my boyfriend is with Jenifer now and he’s turned from ‘the nice, sweet, dependable, punk-rocker’ into ‘the stupid, preppy, pervert jerk that you just want to strangle. My sister, the sweet, innocent baby, has become the school whore, Brittney hates my guts because someone said that I, the virgin, slept with her boyfriend on her birthday, but I was in the hospital so… Brittney’s stupid, and my best friend, Phantom (Nickname), has had a crush on me since fifth grade and plans to ask me out when I get back, but Rachel has always said that he liked me so I tend to ignore her now.

I caught the bus and my bus driver greeted me with the standard, ‘Good Morning!’ and handed me a bag of candy. Let the exploitation begin!

All day, people kept giving me gifts and it would have been nice if it hadn’t been pity candy. Pity candy always tastes bitter, but when lunch came, I got some real candy. Nicole said that she missed me and that she bought me another Cosmo t-shirt. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that I haven’t watched The Fairly Odd Parents in forever so I just said thanks and asked if I could have her fries.

“I missed hearing you say that,” Phantom said in remembrance from behind me. I stood to face him and was met by a bag of candy and a beautiful painting of Danny Phantom crying. I starred in wonder at the brush strokes and the quality and wondered why he wasn’t famous yet.

“Why is he crying?” I had to ask.

“Because he ate too much candy!” he laughed, taking a Reeses from my candy bag.

“I feel his pain,” I remarked as another person delivered a bag of candy. ‘Where are they getting all this candy,’ I thought. ‘Is there a sale at Wal-Mart!’ I looked to the card attached to the bag. It’s from my ex-boyfriend. It reads, “I love you and I’m glad you’re okay! You wanna come over tonight?” Phantom read over my shoulder and sat down when I looked at him.

Rachel ran over to me and practically tackled me with a hug.

“I missed you, Cupcake!” she squealed with joy.

“Kindergarten nicknames, rainbow?” I asked with a raised eyebrow. “How come you always have to embarrass me like this?” I hugged her back.

“I bet you’re happy that’s she’s back, aren’t ya’, Phantom?” Rachel asked as she elbowed his back. He looked over his shoulder at her with a death glare.

“Whatever,” he growled. ‘But he was happy a second ago! It must be his time of the month.’ I laughed and everyone starred at me.

“Um… I just remembered a really funny joke!” I lied as I continued to laugh at my own lame joke. I sat down next to Rachel and watched everyone eat. A vision of a long, clear tube being forced down my throat flashed in my mind. I threw up in my mouth. The voice called my name. It screams for help. I snapped out of my trance to see Phantom’s hand waving in my face. The cafeteria was empty.

“Are you okay, you T.S.S.C.?” Phantom asked with a look of concern. “You haven’t even blinked since you sat down and we’re late for class!” I smiled evilly as I remembered walking into my seventh grade math class to find, “Talkative, Short, and Stupid Ciendra,” stamped acrossed the white board with Phantom’s signature underneath it.

“I’m not short,” I replied with a laugh. “How late are we?” He looked at his Box Ghost watch.

“Sixth period is half over,” he answered. “There’s no point in even going to class now!” He sat down beside me as I starred at the floor. The tiles remind me of the cold hospital floor. “So… You want me to forge us a pass to the library?” I nodded. There’s carpet in the library!

I know I've been gone for a while and i did delete a lot of my stories, but I will repost them when i am ready to dedicate more time to it! I can't keep starting stories that I know I won't finish! When I am done with The Phantasmagoric Images I will work on one of the others full time until it is done. I will still be cranking out oneshots because they help get rid of writter's block and they are easy to write, but hard to keep to one chapter. If you have any comments on anything in the above paragraph, please pm me and tell me about it.
