Author has written 3 stories for Firefly, and Sherlock. Hello! I'm 29 and have a BA in film production. I work on the occasional film (mostly script supervising or working for the art department), but my full time job is running a theatre... sounds fun... it's not. If I have any time that isn't accounted for I like to write. I love all things Joss Whedon but was never inspired to write any fan fiction until Firefly. And then something must have stuck with me after watching Sherlock because it got me writing again. I like to run and go out for drinks with friends but I'm a complete nerd at heart. Here's an incomplete list of some of the things I love: TV SHOWS: Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Veronica Mars, The Vampire Diaries, Chuck, Community, Dexter, Doctor Who, Being Human BBC, Sherlock BBC, The IT Crowd, Castle, Supernatural, Boardwalk Empire, Burn Notice, True Blood, Psych, Royal Pains, House, Lost, Carnivale, Gilmore Girls, The Simpsons, Alan Partridge, Absolutely Fabulous, Daria, Highlander, Stargate - SG1, Battlestar Galactica, Flight of the Conchords, Dead Like Me. Needless to say, I guess it's a good thing I'm an insomniac (I'm lucky if I can sleep 3 to 4 hours a night) or I'd never have time for them all. MUSIC: Bob Dylan, Florence & The Machine, Anberlin, Oona, Regina Spektor, The Rocket Summer, The Smiths, St. Vincent, Lucky Boys Confusion, The Frames, The Pierces, They Might Be Giants, Sam Roberts, The Dandy Warhols... I also really dig punk from the early 80s (Joy Division, Sex Pistols, Happy Mondays etc), classic rock, and I'm a nut for showtunes. MOVIES: My top ten favs (in no particular order) are Gone With the Wind, Notorious, Singin' in the Rain, The Godfather, Dog Day Afternoon, The Bridge on the River Kwai, Les enfants du paradis, It Happened One Night, La Haine, and Double Indemnity... I'm really not as pretenious as I sound, I just went to film school. ACTORS: Alan Rickman, Al Pacino, Steve Coogan, Nick Stahl, Ryan Reynolds, Vincent Cassel, Steve Buscemi, Ian Somerhalder, Nathan Fillion, Anthony Rapp, James Spader, Parker Posey, Famke Jannsen, and it may be too early to tell, but Benedict Cumberbatch seems to be worming his way in. GENERAL: I love reading, going to the theatre(film and stage), my laptop, British comedy, collecting movies and TV shows, watching horrible movies with my friends, playing the Buffy drinking game, drinking wine (Pinot Grigio please), everything by Jane Austen, Harry Potter, video games (if I have time), turning people on to new movies/TV shows/books/music that they otherwise would not have been interested in. I am a shipper reader and writer all the way... and unlike many I'm actually a big fan of original characters. Not Mary Sue's per se... but actual interesting, flawed characters that I think would fit in the different worlds. So that's me. | |||||||
