About Me:

I'm a microbiology student and research scientist, thus I know more than a healthy person should about infectious diseases. All you really need to know about me is that I am Unthank so you don't have to be. If you have any questions, or have the urge to bounce ideas off of somebody, please feel free to send me a PM.

What I do:

The vast majority of my writing is for The Dragonrider's of Pern, although I do dabble in Pokemon and Harry Potter. I (un)fortunately I am at an extremely busy point in my life, and have a tendency to be a bit slow with updates. I apologize for a lack of activity lately, I've managed to destroy SIX computers in the past few months, and have lost most of the data from my works-in-progress.

Status:

Works in Progress

"Crimes" (This is my primary work-in-progress, and I sincerely hope to finish it by the end of 2009. Although the story is by and large actually written, I am still tinkering with the overall structure of the story and doing some heavy edits. Please let me know if you are interested in beta reading, as I'd like some outside advice on both the actual writing and the story exposition)

"So, You Want to be a Dragonrider" (While this story is definitely on the backburner, I haven't abandoned it. It's moved from how I originally envisioned it to more of a 'slice-of-life' story. Expect slow updates)

"Glitch" (Don't hold your breath waiting for updates. Lost interest in the story, and the story never really developed a following so it's pretty unlikely that I'll pick it up again)

"The Second Stage Turbine Blade" (Similar to Glitch, only it's much more likely that I'll pick it up again)

Ideas Floating around my Head

-I'd like at some point in time to write something that essentially involved telling the story of the Second Wizarding War (i.e the story told within the timeframe of the Harry Potter books) from the point of veiw of an individual whom was more sympathetic with the Dark Lord's side...probably Theodore Nott or another minor Slytherin character. This is going to be quite the endevor, and will, if I do write it, not occur until after I finish some other things

Finished Works

-"Love Rhymes with Goldflight" (one of my favorite peices of writing, I'm probably going to go back and make little tweeky changes here and there to improve it, but no major overhauls)

-"Delariath is Dead" (this story features an earlier incarnation of J'nah...from which he's diverted greatly. It's a finished one-shot, but I may take this situation and turn it into the basis for a more unorthadox Pern story of a couple of chapters)

-"As Filled with Lies as and Igens Tale" (I think this was one of my first things posted up on this site. I considered scraping it, but I left it up for prosperity. I may elaborate the story at some point in time, but for right now...it's pretty much a stand alone peice)

-"Yung Weyr in the Dusky" (old one-shot. Not much else to say)

Art

I'm not terribly skilled, but sometimes I think it's interesting to have a concrete reference for the appearance of characters. You can find a few pictures of some of my characters on my deviantart account (linked as my homepage) I hope to add more in the near future.
