December 06 Hogwarts Haven Harry Potter Fan of the Month

Been distracted by another fandom, but still writing. Will have a new chapter of something up soon, I promise. The summer holiday’s flying by and I’ve just been exhausted from a stressful year, and spending most of the day curled up in bed watching my new Buffy DVDs. While plot bunnies for the fandom jump into existence and drown out poor Harry and co. I will post something Buffy-y soon, but I’ll try and keep on track with my Harry Potter stuff.
Who I Am:
A student who spends far too much time on the Internet and Microsoft Word. I’m 17 and at present an English/Art student with an ambition to become the next J. K. Rowling (impossible I know, as no-one can replace her, but that’s what I tell people).
I could probably win a prize for the longest profile on FFnet. I keep it pretty up to date and organised as much as possible, and like to think that it’s clear to read. Don’t let the sheer size put you off because there’s lots of useful information as well as quotes and fanfiction challenges.
What I Write:
Fandom? Mostly Harry Potter or Buffy. Right now all my Buffy ones are developing only on my hard drive, but I will post something Buffy-y soon.

Harry Potter
Ships: OTP: Albus/Minerva. Very partial to Harry/Ron. Also fond of Aberforth/Poppy, Severus/Lily, Arthur/Molly, Severus/Sirius, Harry/Hermione, Remus/Severus, Voldemort/Bellatrix. Gone off R/Hr and H/G for some reason, though I still write them occasionally. Also recently got fond of Draco/Ron, Draco/Hermione, Ron/Luna, Harry/Luna (though I can’t write that one), Harry/Daphne, Luna/Hermione, Severus/Prof. Sinistra, Tom/Minerva (but only if she ends up with Albus at the end!) and (just added) Albus/Alastor. Becoming more fond of Severus/Hermione as well. As of DH, I’m adding Scorpio/Rose to the list, even though I’m still not sure how I feel about the book.
Other preferences: Albus and/or Minerva with Harry, de-aging fics, Severituses or similar, Grindelwald era, Harry as a child, Tom/Minerva as a prelude to Albus/Minerva, AUs, AUs, and more AUs! Crossovers are also good but often far too clichéd.
Dislikes: Manipulative!Dumbledore, Independent!Harry, Dark!Harry, Evil!Snape, Hard!McGonagall, badly written slash (that goes for all fandoms), Snape/Harry
Notes: Most of my fics use HBP and so far none use DH.

Buffy: the Vampire Slayer
Ships: Spike/Buffy, Giles/Joyce, Xander/Andrew
Notes: Obviously I knew this fandom exists, but until recently I’d only ever seen the first series, and avoided fanfiction etc because of spoilers. But now I’ve got the complete set of DVDs and have watched all of them. I have to say, I didn’t like Spike much when he first appeared as the villain, but now he’s my favourite character. I’m also fond of Joyce, Willow, Andrew, Cordelia and Anya, and like series seven best, though half the time I don’t take it into account. Mostly because I got the ideas when still around series four.
Anyway, in a short space of time I’ve created in my mind several fics, a couple of series, mostly Spike/Buffy, some Giles/Joyce and a couple Xander/Andrew. (Other ships vary depending on canon placement.) Can’t promise them soon or quickly, but I do promise them.
I haven’t written anything taking Angel into account yet, because I haven’t seen any, but I’m going to ask for the DVD set for Christmas …

Fanfiction
PLEASE read the author’s notes; they are there for a reason! Review responses are another good thing to read, because I find myself answering the same questions over and over again. I like it when people guess but please watch my replies to people who’ve already guessed it.
Challenges:
At some point I intend to try my hand at a couple of challenges set by others, but until then I’d like to see some creativity going on with you lot, and get out a couple of plot bunnies that have been rattling around my head for a week or so at the same time. I will probably end up writing my own versions anyway, but I’d like to see what you can come up with!
General Challenge Rules:
1: No manipulative! uncaring! or evil!Albus, no independent! or dark!Harry. The only exceptions are if I state.
2: Let me know when you start writing/posting, because I would love to read them! I may offer to beta, but only if I have time.
3: No OoC-ness or Mary Sues. The former can be compromised, the latter not. Sorry.
4: No HBP or DH unless I give specific permission.
1: Trial & Error Challenge
1: Post-GoF, but with some OotP elements. You can add as many as you want to the ones I give you.
2: Halfway through Harry’s fifth year, Sirius dies, and Harry’s mad at Albus for reasons you can do what you want with, as long as it conforms to the rest of the rules (see above also).
3: The Ministry are accusing Harry of murdering Cedric Diggory, and he has to run away from Hogwarts.
4: Albus is in serious trouble also, for opening proclaiming Voldemort’s return, and eventually he also has to go into hiding. He and Harry end up together, anywhere you want.
5: Harry has to get over his anger at Albus and the two have to work together to force Voldemort out into the open.
