About me: Writing is what I love to do. I write a lot of oneshots with some full-length stories mixed in. I write for myself - generally I like to complete stories before I post anything, so I have the ability to go back and change things, so once I begin a story you can expect new chapters to come quickly. My favorite topics to read and write are X-files, 24, and Half-Life, though I like many others as well.

I like: the sound of thunder, writing at night when there are no distractions but my iPod, my next-door neighbor's cinnamon rolls, singing in the car with my friends, watching X-files after dinner, warm weather, anything chocolate, fluffy shippy stories, angsty stories every now and then, watching the Tour de France, good fantasy novels, alternative rock, fencing, Nascar, and horses. It is my firm belief that nothing makes the inside of a person feel better than the outside of a horse.

I don't like: long winters, rap, grackles, eminent domain, bananas that are too sugary, people who think they're better than everyone else, and apostrophes used in plurals (trust me - no one ever said that was OK).

Why I love The X-files: There's just something about Mulder and Scully that appeals to everyone. Their opposite views somehow harmonize to solve whatever problems are thrown at them. Mulder's sarcasm and unabashed belief catch attention just as well as Scully's fervent insisting on science. I think everyone's just a little jealous of them. And the great part is, they have the trust, respect, and yes, love, of a deep bond without having to have a sexual relationship. Even the supporting characters - Skinner, Cancerman, the Lone Gunmen, etc. - have a depth that makes them just as unforgettable. They aren't just there because someone has to be there to do something. Backstories provide new information about the character and, once revealed, become essential to their makeup. The paranormal and unsolved nature of the show's individual episodes, and overall plot, are refreshing. Not just any show could pull off aliens, especially when you see them. So here's to Mulder, Scully, and of course, Chris Carter.
