About Maraluch:

Late 20's. Female. Taurus. Been writing this stuff for years...just now getting around to publishing it. I love the Nossies. They're so misunderstood.

On a more personal note besides my stats, I'd like to post a link to one of my blogs. http://www.fibromyalgia-journal.blogspot.com

In mid-2008 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. This disease has literally torn my life apart one piece at a time. I feel that education about this disease is important. And there is so much controversy over treatments that it can make a healthy person insane, let alone a sick one. If I see another Lyrica commercial I swear I'm going to scream. The pharmaceutical companies are making too much money off us to care about finding a true cure.

And here's another important link: http://www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com/City20of20Hope20Reprint.pdf

City of Hope testing. This is the FIRST conclusive genetic testing which has been done to prove that the disease DOES in fact exist. It is not all in our heads. And it can be traced within families. More good news- this test is 80 percent accurate in pointing out someone within a family who may have the disease but doesn't show any symptoms yet. The pharmaceutical companies didn't fund this research. They have way too much to lose. Private organizations did. Private citizens did. There is hope for a cure.

Updates!

2/15/09: Kindred the Embraced: A new(old?) book of mine is halfway done being edited and reposted. I wrote Between Clan Lines a number a years ago and put it to the side because there were too many quirky things wrong with it. But it is a full book. I'm talking 100,000 words plus. Very excited to be dusting this beauty off and let others enjoy it. Believe it or not I wrote the entire thing by hand. I'm not kidding. I went through a lot of bandaids during those months.

Also in the in Kindred category, my Marie Saga needs some help. I'm at an impasse and have been for over a year. I feel so awful about it! If you have any suggestions about furthering the plot, please convo me. My brain is stuck. I can't figure out where I want this to go. I don't want Marie to have an intimate relationship with Daedalus, though. I know that.

Faves:

1) Transformers. Fave Autobot: Ironhide. He's such an ass... Fave Decepticon: Baricade. This poor dude just needs a warm fluffy hug!

2) Hellboy

3) Vampire: The Masquerade

4) Daredevil

5) Lilo and Stitch (the first one rocked, the second was just...sadly lacking.) Favorite moment in 1st movie: Stitch makes a fake "San Francisco" and then acts like King Kong and destroys it. Lilo comments, "No more caffeine for you..." I love her stark humor.

4) Correct English!

Dislikes:

1) People who do not know how to spell and/or are too freaking lazy to do a Spell Check on it before submitting it. I admit, I've overlooked a few things and Spell Check is not always correct. But when someone takes the time to point out an error to you, correcting it in a timely manner would be nice. Stuff like that is appreciated. I definitely appreciate it when someone emails me pointing out a boo boo they spotted. Please do. I invite you to.

2) Netspeak. When you're writing a fictional piece of literature, Netspeak is NOT cool! Visually, it doesn't flow well to a viewer's eyes and it's hard to decipher. When I find pieces that contain a lot of Netspeak, I immediately exit and move along to someone else’s story. I hate it with a passion. I consider Netspeak the epitome of laziness.

Ok folks. I'm done ranting. As you can tell, I'm a long winded, anal retentive person. But I do eventually reach a conclusion. And this is it.
