Author has written 36 stories for Yu-Gi-Oh, Sandman, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Death Note, Firefly, My Little Pony, Matantei Loki Ragnarok, Hana Yori Dango, and Lazytown.

I always hate writing these kind of things but here goes:

I'm a Yorkshire lass living in the strange land known as Wales.

I'm in my twenties and mother of three little girls.

I love writing stories, always put my heart into it and am dyslexic.

I can take criticism as well as compliments for my work so don't be afraid to review them.

Being a mother I always put my children first so there will be times when my fics may not be updated as much as I'd like but I will eventually get back to them so please be patient.

All my Yugioh fics are mainly based around the 4Kids dubbed version. Bare this in mind if you intend to flame me because something isn't Japanese enough for your liking.

My 'Doctoring the Blue Eyes' trilogy was written just after series two of Torchwood and four of Doctor Who, therefore there will be non-accurate details/history of characters from future series/installments of the shows.

I do not claim to be an expert of any of the fandoms that I write for; I'm merely a fan like most of you guys out there.

My fics do not continue on from or relate to each other unless mentioned, however there will be themes/details that are similar/same from time to time.

After having to deal with Murphy's/Sod's law incidences in the real world, I'm finally back to try and get back on track with my fanfictions. I'll update when I can/have full chapters to post and will be working a roulette fashion, so keep your eyes peeled for an update on your favourite stories ;)

25th February 2010

My real life is still slowly sorting itself out and I hope to be able to get back to updating on a regular basis within the next coming months.

Unfortunately I've chosen to abandon two of the fics ('The Doctor Duels' and 'LazyRealms') I had on hold due to huge plot holes and lack of personal interest. I'm sorry to disappoint those of you would were looking forward to them continuing but my heart just isn't in them any more. If anyone would like to take over any of the fics I have marked as 'ABANDONED' then please feel free to do so.

You guys who read, favourite and review my stories are what keeps me going, even if it's only one of you who's enjoyed what I've written. And I really appreciate all feedback left for me, good or bad, it helps me to improve my work and become a better writer.

Thanks for being patient,

KG

Doctoring The Blue Eyes Trilogy

Over the recent months this unexpected fanfic series has grown extremely close to my heart. Not only does it feature and is based around my favourite Yu-Gi-Oh characters (the Kaibas), but in doing research for it, it has also given me a newfound respect for everything Doctor Who and introduced me to the wonderful Torchwood that lies on my very door-step. Now one year on and with ‘Doctoring the Blue Eyes’ currently taking over my fanfiction account I thought I’d share with you all how this saga began…..

It all started back towards the beginning of 2008 when I was searching for story ideas. I like to be as original as possible with my fics and hopefully I come up with entertaining stories that haven’t been read or themes not done before, though I know it may not always be the case. Struggling with coming up with anything at the time, it was suggested to me that I should attempt to do a crossover fic, something which I hadn’t had much luck at pre to the crossover feature on this site. When I was first ‘dared’ to combine a fandom I love (Yu-Gi-Oh!) with something I avoided due to the nerdy-fanboy image I had always associated with Doctor Who, I laughed it off. I thought about it again and laughed some more, and only after that did I connect it to a faint idea I had, which just might work.

And so June 2008 I became the first person on fanfiction.net to crossover Yu-Gi-Oh into the Whoniverse, and it was well received by my reviewers who helped to inspire and spawn an idea for a sequel which I started posting several months later.

‘Kaiba Conversion’ was the result and my twist on Gozaburo’s death. There is always some kind of debate as to whether the CEO committed suicide by jumping from his office at the top of his building, or did his adopted son push him to the grave? I like the idea of either, but what if there was a different reason?

‘Doctoring the Blue Eyes’ is far from the yaoi fic that I had originally intended it to be. Set much later than its predecessor and this time choosing to focus on Seto overcoming his past, it was time to bring along a certain flirtatious companion of the Doctor’s along for the ride. As writing began and more research was done, I felt the fic took a turn for the better with the brotherly bond that is now formed between Seto and Jack.

Nearing the end of writing this fic I was inspired again to write another instalment and make it a trilogy, but let’s not forget the bonus fics that come before that.

I wrote ‘The Duel That Never Was: Seto Vs Ianto’ as an alternative chapter which could possibly take place after chapter 22 of ‘Doctoring the Blue Eyes’. It was from misleading and building-up the hopes of one of my reviewers that prompted me to write what is one of the few fics of mine that involves the actual playing of the Yu-Gi-Oh card game. In return, starwefter was kind enough to write a follow-up fic ‘The Birthday That Never Was’ which could possibly take place after chapter 34 of ‘Doctoring the Blue Eyes’. I recommend that my readers check it out as it compliments this series quite nicely.

‘Something Blue’ is set around 18 months after chapter 44 of ‘Doctoring the Blue Eyes’ and is a light-hearted relief fic from the darker aspect of the main trilogy. Torchwood; separate from the government, outside the police and beyond the United Nations, they also do weddings too.

'Children of Earth: Seto's Side' retells the third series of Torchwood from our favourite CEO's point of view, with just a little ammendmant.

‘The Birth of a Kaiba’ starts off around a little under two months after chapter 44 of ‘Doctoring the Blue eyes’. Each chapter is based around the time of the births of the Kaiba brother’s children. Need I say more?

The final instalment that I am currently still working on, smoothing over plot bumps and holes, will be titled: ‘The Face of Things Yet to Come’. It starts off seven years after ‘Doctoring the Blue Eyes’ and as situations change, so do people. Loved ones won't ever be forgotten, and forever will never be the same again.

At the time of writing/typing that is all that I have for this saga. But who knows, there are still plenty of gaps in the timeline that could be filled in, so never rule out the possibility of further side-fics. As mentioned once already, this series has grown extremely close to my heart and I will be sad to see the last part posted when the time comes, but hopefully some of you have enjoyed it as much as me.
