WAR OF THE MUSES!

In an act of rebellion, Chaos was hired by Genesis to chase off my recently spawned Tales of Symphonia muses. In the ensuing mental chaos, Genesis has recruited an army in my mind of all Gaea-affiliated muses and is leading an ongoing war against all non-Gaean muses. Poor Yuan, his cloak is already in tatters from all the times he's snuck past security and reached me. Genesis has even gone so far as to recruit my OCs to his cause... needless to say, I am being held hostage and have no idea when my captors will allow me to foray into other fandoms once more.

November 30th, 2011 - Perhaps this imagery will amuse you lot as much as it did LadyoftheMuses? My muses have formed a recent habit of converting my central consciousness into a form akin to a bouncy ball and ricocheting me from one end of my mind to the other. It makes for interesting ideas, but is soooooooo not constructive to getting my current ideas finished! Helps me learn to switch between fandoms at the drop of a hat, though.

November 18th, 2011 - Haven't written anything on here in a bit... if you're waiting for something to get updated, I'd only hold your breath on Tales and Final Fantasy VII fics right now, though I'm also distracted by a crossover or two. If you haven't noticed already, I get faaaar too many ideas, and they like to fight over who gets my attention, which often results in my ideas getting temporarily misplaced... I am, however, steadily collecting 'trigger songs' which I will use to kickstart my various muses. I am using a new method of file organization, however, which should help me to keep better track of all my ideas.

October 4th, 2011 - "A keyboard is a keyboard, you can make music with one, and tell tales with another. Either way you're making art." - Me. Eheh, I've been kinda quiet for a bit, haven't I? Been occupied though! The girls are back in school, and my muses are STILL waging war on each other . . . In fact, I had to order my GenxSeph muse to lock up my GenxCloud and SephxCloud muses the other day . . . but they TEAMED UP ON ME! While I was working on a collab which is now a bit over half done. It's cute, and my first real foray into writing proper yaoi . . . I have a whole new appreciation for yaoi authors, I kept breaking down into gigglefits while I was trying to write my part of a kissing scene. Just a kiss! I am hopeless . . . August 15, 2011 - Well . . . I actually have two chapters finished, but I'm holding back on posting them for a bit longer, as I wanted to do a mass-update. In other news however, it seems that my Symphonia muses have chased off Genesis and his army, so I'm trying to get them out of the my system by working on Replica and my unposted ToS fics. I will be posting a oneshot sometime soon as a birthday gift to LadyoftheMuses so if you are interested in some SOLDIER fluff, keep an eye out.

July 06, 2011 - So, as of yesterday, at 3:35pm EST, I am an AUNTIE. O.O! Reina Mary was born to my 18-year-old sister and her newlywed husband, weighing 7lbs 7oz, with a length of 20 inches. On a more fanfic related note, KittenFair and ShadesofImagination (both awesome people) have posted a timetravel collab on the account ReWrite the Past. If you like Final Fantasy VII, go and take a look, I'm their beta. Also, I fell behind on Posting Week, but once I work through this headache, I'll have some oneshots up. I plan to update An Earthling's Guide, as well as Replica in the next Posting Week. April 16th, 2011 - Being ill sucks. Seriously. I've got a respiratory infection on top of pneumonia . . . and a minor case of insomnia due of being sick. I'm lucky to get five hours sleep. Once, I managed to get four hours straight before waking up a coughing sweaty mess, but that was lucky, most of the time I'm only catching two hours before waking up. Which means I can't join my friends in playing Eclipse Phase for a few weeks. Last time I played, I killed off one of my teammates and got away with it, because he sicked a drunk sex-deprived civilian on my poor socially-stunted character. Even though life is pretty 'cheap' in EP (Your mind is 'backed up' on a device in your neck, which can be implanted in a new body) I was pretty satisfied with how I was able to kill him and destroy said device without being caught, and then we still completed the mission. (two of my remaining three teammates were also killed. One was mercy-killed because he went insane, the other shot up by the Boss we were after. Oddly enough, the one that survived was the Octopus.)

Interestingly enough, aforementioned mission felt oddly like we were three Turks and two SOLDIERs. I was a Turk, the Octopus was a Turk, and the one I killed was a Turk-with-a-drug-problem. While the ones who got killed were our SOLDIER support. Wonder what her Turk-name would be? Right now her codename is Nyx, we have a Greek God theme going.

Time for another breathing treatment...I hate nebulizers...

I personally quite enjoy having my readers contact me on Messenger, it helps remind me that people actually want me to continue my stories so that they can read them.

My Writing Method

Unlike some writers, I am unable to 'force' myself to write something if it doesn't 'flow' properly. In fact, rather than having 2-3 drafts of a chapter, I traditionally only have the Chapter Draft and a secondary document containing bits of plot information, profiles for original characters and portions of planned scenes 100-300 words long. In some cases, I will start a Version 2 secondary document in an attempt to organize and 'reformat' previous information. When working on a Chapter Draft itself, I think about roughly what I want to occur, and C+P any appropriate 'glimpses' from the secondary document, before starting at the beginning. In the cases of some Chapter Drafts, I might have a number of portions complete before I concentrate on filling in the blanks between them. Once I complete a draft, I read through it a few times in search of grammatical/spelling errors, and even after it has been posted I will go back and reread from time to time and fix any missed errors.

In an optimal writing period, when I have a clear idea of what I want, I can type of about 1000 words in a single hour. During times when I dedicate two hours on most days, I can get out 25k in a month. However, in recent times I have lacked 'dedicated hours' and no longer have a 'lair' where I can type in solitude. Thus, most of my writing was done when I was bitten by plunnies or encouraged by fellow writers/readers LadyoftheMuses and Alzipher into working on specific documents.

Good news, however, I have recently gained a job as well as an ID-card and plan to spend time at the Library regularly working on both my fanfics and my original stories. Yes, I do have original stories. One is a Fantasy-Adventure novel which popped into my head while I was working on an idea I had for an RPG (which I'd love to finish and get someone to make) and the other is a Modern-Fantasy novel that was inspired by an odd dream I had one night of an invisible masked knight . . . don't ask me how I know he was wearing a mask when he was invisible, I just know he was, just as I know he had a horn on said mask. I still am unsure as to who the knight is, but I am determined to figure it out!

It's no wonder I'm a SCAdian with how many medieval-themed series/movies I watched as a child! -looks up something- Well, hell, now I know why Callen of NCIS: Los Angeles looked so familiar, and why I liked him. -affects high-pitched french accent- D'ARTAGNAN! Laugh if you get it. Gerard would have been a surefire way to stop my tantrums as a child, his voice causes gigglefits even as an adult. Oh, McGann . . . lovely acting.

Also . . . I was watching PG and PG-13 movies at the age of 5, and R-rated TV series by the age of 8. Wow. No wonder I have issues. Though I suppose the darker things I watched were balanced by the life-lessons contained in them, turning me into one of the most open-minded creatures on the planet.

Tales of Symphonia is rather addictive. It's amazing how just a bit of luck can keep you from discovering something even when it's practically shoved in your face by friends. It's now infested my brain. I've developed the attention-span of Lloyd where other fandoms are concerned, so it seems I'll have to indulge this addiction if I want to get anything done. I wonder if it's contagious? . . . and I'll be writing these with Yuan as my muse!
