23/4/07 Right...so it's been a while, though, thankfully, magical lexical creature that I am, I don't age. - _~
I would just like to thank my reviewers, from the bottom of my heart! Your kind words, have built me a lovely little villa in a new, more exotic dictionary. Oh, how I do love perusing the new words - so different, so rich in their non-phonetical glory! Now...if I could just get a summer house out of you...nothing much, you know, just 30 rooms or so, with a nice view, and a river cutting through the garden...oh and with cherry blossoms, birches and peach trees on the front lawn...perhaps even a water feature...and perhaps this time in a Spanish dictionary. I think I am much to accustomed to romanized characters to move to a Japanese dictionary, but who knows? ;) The idea is: please review!
In time, I hope to explore more far-away lands, such as the Chinese lexicon, and perhaps the Etymological Dictionary of the Spanish Language...wouldn't that be nice? I can just imagine spending my days playing with words unfamiliar to me, and learning of their roots...waking each morning to the sound of pajaritos chirping outside my ventana. Such lovely, lovely dreams.
For the time being I am content with the Oxford Complete Dictionary and Thesaurus of English Language...my little house, well, villa, is situated between "lachrymose" and "limpid" and it has a beautiful view: to the east you can see from "almandine" to "azure" and to the west there is "limpid" to "sublime". I am, indeed most lucky.
I find the new scenery is greatly helping my muse to concentrate as well, so you can expect more stuff from me; though, I must warn you, being as how I am not of your world, I do not abide by your time, so really I am updating as fast as I can...it's just that your time moves faster than my time. Believe me, time spent living in dictionaries and reference books can be most enjoyable, but tends to move slower than time spent, say, in a TV, or as it is, your world; so do bear with me please. :D
That being said, thank you all for your continued support. The past year and a bit has changed my style of writing a bit - I think I even killed a few people (in my stories, that is)- but overall I do try to keep that fluff-element going. Of course, even as a word-nymph, one does not always feel fluffy...like that time and the other time...and that's how you, my dear readers, end up with tragic stories of unrequited love, or ends of journeys together.
But, I always do get back on the proverbial horse, and try and whip out more fluff. :)
Things at the moment are great, even with one wing, I must say. The thing about having one wing, is you can hug how many other nymphs you want in order to fly around the dictionary (you didn't think I was alone in such big place, did you? 986,120 words is a big world for such a tiny being like myself.), but the great thing is, if you don't like them, you can always leave them - of course, it is advised you wait until you land first, otherwise it could be quite dangerous. Oh, and land on safe places like: "trampoline" or "soft" or "petal" (I would not recommend "rose", believe me, I speak from personal experience)...or if you're a little more daring how about "pellucid"? Landing on that one was fun, except that if you have the misfortune to land on its first explanatory note, you will get kind of wet.
Yes, so one-winged and happy! I hope to hear from you more often...after all I have a mansion to build ;)
