Author has written 10 stories for Ella Enchanted, Bible, Lemmings, Robin Hood, Newsies, and Chronicles of Narnia. Please excuse all grammar and spelling errors. I have done my best and unless you want to fix them, please kindly excuss them. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I think your profile is the hardest thing to write in all of Fanfiction.net, but I can try. I a human being (we think) that enjoys reading, writing, Ty Kwon do, little kids, Irish music, piano, and violin. I love to write more then anything, but think I would like to be a teacher when I graduate. I know American sign Language, almost proficiently, and take advantage of every class and immersion opportunity I can get. My thought on MarySues: What are MarySues? MarySues are fictional characters that are flawless in appearance, capability, and everything else. They are tall, thin, beautiful, lithe, strong, sturdy, emotional, irresistible, likeable, never makes mistake, great with swords, fluent in dead languages that nobody uses, fall in love with the main characters, and are all around unrealistic. So why do we write MarySues? We write MarySues because if we were ever placed in a book that is how we would want ourselves to be viewed. We would love to think ourselves worthy of the main character’s trust, worthy of traveling with the fellowship, of saving a world, of doing what is right even though it’s impossible. We write that way because we wish it was us. So do only bad writers write MarySues! I mean MarySue stories get flamed all the time. NO! Think about it! Take Elves from Lord of the Rings. They are PERFECT! They don’t even die! Everyone of Tolkien’s girls in LOTR is beautiful beyond comparison and perfect. Who wouldn’t want to be perfect, gorgeous and able to sneak away and fight in battle? Think about your favorite books, some character’s there are flawless also. Even some of the good ones. Lucy in Chronicles of Narnia? The Beth in Little Woman? Leah in Starwars? Both the girls in The Princesses of Bamarre? Now I think that most MarySues on fanfiction really are extremely unbelievable. But, don’t we all have to start somewhere? Where does flaming them begin to help? Before you fry a writer, think about all the flawless characters in your favorite books, then stop. Don’t flame give helpful tips to bring their character from the horrid grasps of Sueness. Teach them how to write the same Marysues that are in our favorite books, if you don’t know how to teach them, don’t say anything. Fanfiction.net is full of new and old writers. Don’t flame people! Teach them how to perfect their Marysues. Quotes: (I love these!!) The streams shall run in gladness, The lakes shall shine and burn, All sorrow fail and sadness At the Mountain-king's return!-The Hobbit "'Please don't cook me, kind sirs!...I'll cook beautifully for you!'"- Bilbo in The Hobbit 'You are not making a very splendid figure as King under the Mountain.'"-helpful criticism from The Hobbit "'Misery me! I have heard songs of many battles, and I have always understood that defeat may be glorious. It seems very uncomfortable, not to say distressing. I wish I was well out of it.'" –Bilbo in The Hobbit 'So snow comes after fire and even dragons have their ending! I wish now only to be in my own arm-chair!"- I love Bilbo! Let the lord of the Black Land come forth, that justice be done upon him!- Aragorn (LOTR) I guess that concludes negotiations. –Gimli (After the evil negotiator died) The power of the Three Rings is ended. The time has come... for the dominion of Men.- Galadriel (Yeah, she wasn’t feeling all that well.) Farewell, my brave Hobbits. My work is now finished. Here at last, on the shores of the sea... comes the end of our Fellowship. I will not say do not weep, for not all tears are an evil.-Gandalf Certainty of death, small chance of success... What are we waiting for?- Gimli (He’s got such a great heart) I do not believe this darkness will endure.- Faramir (once the movie started obeying the book. I love the book Faramir!) I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!- Aragorn (My favorite quote) The Road goes ever on and on, Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way! Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say. –A song from LOTR I made a promise, Mr Frodo. A promise. Don't you leave him Samwise Gamgee. And I don't mean to. I don't mean to. –Sam (I love good old faithful Sam) Great. Where are we going?- Pippin followed by evil glares. Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.-Galadriel Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill before this is over. The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many.-Gandalf (another favorite quote) I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.- Bilbo followed by many blank stares I will be dead before I see the Ring in the hands of an elf. Never trust an elf.- Gimli (Legolas is the elf) "It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to."-Bilbo A diversion- Legolas stating the obvious You’re late- Legolas stated the obvious again Nobody tosses a Dwarf- Gimli (The dwarf) I cannot jump the distance. You'll have to toss me. Don't tell the elf.- Gimli Sam: I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something. Women of this country learned long ago that those without swords can still die upon them.- Eowyn You must understand young hobbit, takes a long time to say anything in Old Entish. And we never say anything unless it is worth taking a long time to say.- Treebeard Side? I am on nobody's side, because nobody is on my side.- Treebeard My Lady, there may come a time for valor without renown.-Aragorn "She’s safe, just like I promised. She's all set to marry Norrington, just like she promised. And you get to die for her, just like you promised. So we're all men of our words really except for Elizabeth who is, in fact, a woman."- Jack (who I don’t really like but says the funniest things!) "If you were waiting for the opportune moment…that was it."- Jack Me, I’m dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly it’s the honest ones you have to watch out for, you never can predict of they’re going to do something incredibly stupid. –Jack Commodore: You have to be the worst pirate I have ever heard of. Jack: Ah, so you have heard of me!- PoC Will: I would die for her. Jack: Good, no worries then! There are so many more but I will add them latter if I want to. For now I hope you enjoyed those!!! Read my stories, be nice and review, and perhaps I will read yours also! Enchantedwriter72 | |||||
