Author has written 34 stories for Peter Pan, Alias, Pirates of the Caribbean, Chronicles of Narnia, and Doctor Who. "...In the world it calls itself Tolerance; but in Hell it is called Despair... It is the sin which believes in nothing, cares for nothing, seeks to know nothing, interferes with nothing, enjoys nothing, loves nothing, hates nothing, finds purpose in nothing, lives for nothing, and only remains alive because there is nothing it would die for..." ~Dorothy L Sayers The basics: Female, 23, Canadian, short, perky, slightly crazy (I've been told). In depth: First and foremost: I have for some time now held the belief that, as an author of original fiction in addition to being a writer of fanfic, I can't in good conscience be any less defensive of the canon created by authors for whom I write fic than I would wish other fanfic authors to be of my own (original) work. In other words, for the greatest part, I consider myself obliged to ensure that each of my stories (excepting parody and AU fics, of which I have written a few) has at least a reasonable chance of fitting into the existant canon of their respective fandoms. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I will just say that I live to write and, as seems to be the case with writers, I love to read! In case you're interested, in addition to those authors for whose work I write fic my particular favourites are Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayers, PG Wodehouse, Laurie R King and Elizabeth Peters (the Emerson family is probably destined to rule the world, so we should simply accept this as soon as possible and get on with our lives). Even more in depth: I have just completed an Honours degree in English and am taking some time off to work before I begin scrambling to get into the Master's program of my dreams (if anyone can figure out what that might be, do please tell me; I would dearly love to know!) When I'm not reading, writing or working, I'll most likely be sleeping or eating, but if time does allow it I enjoy training my three crazy dogs and spending time with God, who will fortunately be with me always, "even to the very end of the age." Something of a relief, that . . . Also, a quick heads-up to the many wonderful, spelling-conscious Americans who read my work: you may be (and have been!) confused by what will seem to you to be presistent mistakes in my own spelling, but are actually just the Canadian (and often British) versions of certain words. For example, I'll use cosy instead of cozy, defence instead of defense, colour instead of color- the list goes on. I also want it made known that I strongly advise against reading my earlier fic. It's awful. Really. However, I will mention that I am currently in the process of going through all my earlier fics, mostly the Alias stuff, and editing for clarity, grammar and even, when the mood strikes me, content. So maybe in a few months' time they will at least be legible, if not exactly Great Literature! In any event, thanks so much for taking the time to check out my stuff. I really appreciate constructive feedback because I enjoy writing to improve, and a lot of the critiques I've received for my fic over the years have helped grow my writing as well. So thanks to everybody, and I hope you continue to enjoy! On archival and distribution: Please ask first! Life as of late: Is settling down a little, though not as much as I had hoped. Still, who knows; maybe I will get caught up on all my neglected reading sometime before the New Year . . . | |||||||
