HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Just updated Shadowlight, my Drac2000 fic. Sorry it's been so long; between life and work and a particularly nasty and long-lasting case of writer's block, it's been way too long since I paid some significant attention to my beloved anti-heroes. But...in honor of NaNoWriMo, I decided that instead of tackling a novel, I'd dust off one of my old incomplete fan fics and finish it. And after all, what better day to resurrect a vampire than Halloween?

Hope you enjoy! More coming soon.

Well, what can I say? I'm a hopeless romantic, terminally attracted to those delicious-but-doomed, gorgeous-but-lethal, tough-but-vulnerable, larger-than-life bad-boy anti-heroes. Or sometimes just plain villains. But...I've never yet met a villain who couldn't be redeemed, given the right incentive...AND given a fan fic author with the patience and perseverance to write a happily-ever-after ending for him. :-)

So...

My offerings to you, dear readers--two of the most charming, gorgeous (or, in Erik's case, half-gorgeous), and infinitely redeemable bad-boys I've ever met inside the walls of a movie theater.

First, a story which is actually complete, but is now being reposted, a chapter at a time, here on ff.net. It originally debuted in 2001 & 2002, but was removed when ff.net was agonizing over its fic ratings guidelines. This story, Redemption, features Imhotep, the cursed Egyptian high priest of Osiris, who traded his life and his immortal soul in for a shot at bringing his love, Anck-su-Namun, back from the dead. In Redemption, Fate is giving them a chance to write a different ending to their story. Will he take that chance? Will she? Or are they doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past? Tune in and see for yourselves. And leave a review. Reviews make me happy. When I'm happy, I post faster. ;-)

Second, a story which revolves around another lovely bad boy, and one of my newest obsessions--Erik, aka The Phantom of the Opera. Or maybe I should just call him Gerik, since I really wasn't an insatiable PotO fan until Gerard Butler brought the tormented, deformed musical genius to life on the big screen. And oh, what a wonderful job he did of bringing Erik to life! swoon At any rate, Erik got a raw deal. Silly Christine! How could she not choose Erik--tormented, vulnerable, sexy-as-hell, and quite possibly psychotic--over that silly boy, Raoul. I have to admit, I have nothing against Raoul--you won't see any flagrant Raoul-bashing in this fic--but he's just not Erik. After all, what're a few murders? A little extortion? A tiny bit of vandalism and arson? Who's keeping track of all that? Especially when you balance it against Erik, who is just...sexy as hell. But oops! I said that already, didn't I? ;-) Anyway--Come the Dawn is a vehicle in which Erik gets his second chance at a real life, this time with someone who quite possibly has the brains and the determination to stick by him until he figures things out. Or not. Well, we'll just have to see, won't we? This one is NOT yet complete. (Sorry!) But again, reviews are like to me like spinach is to Popeye!

Thanks for reading, and thanks for all the wonderful and motivating and just out-and-out inspiring reviews all of you Redemption fans sent me in the past. You guys are the greatest!

Hugs,

Renee17 (aka Jackie)

P.S. BTW, the picture up there? That's the State Opera House in Vienna. Can't you just imagine Erik there? ;-)
