Author has written 1 story for Spider-Man. Hello all I am a music student at the University of Alberta. I play the piano, flute, piccolo, and I sing. I also figure skate, partake in various forms of dance, and love to read. Obviously, this leaves me precious little time for writing, and even less time for fighting with the internet to update my stories (at the moment, it is a singular story). So if I get no reviews, I will post no chapters. Okay, now that I have made the seemingly requisite demands for reviews, a bit more about myself. I haven't done much writing before, but I've done a lot of reading. Even when I was little, I'd pick up on typos and other errors in novels I was reading...can anyone say 'editing career ahead?' A lot of authors seem to have the problem of hearing and using words in conversation, then trying to write with them, but instead use a similar-sounding word (homonym, in case anyone wants the technical term) that makes no sense, and is often with very humourous result. I've always had the opposite problem; I would read all these big words and then try using them in conversation, but pronounce them wrong! I like: the Narnia books (and the movie), Lord of the Rings (books and movies), Spider-Man (Peter David's novelizations are fantastic), Dee Henderson's O'Malley series and Uncommon Heroes series, Magnus by Sigmund Brouwer, the Left Behind series, Anne of Green Gables, CSI, Numb3rs, NCIS, JAG (so sad it's over! still watch reruns), Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, anything on TLC (mostly While You Were Out and What Not To Wear), MacGyver (very cool old show), Star Trek, Star Wars, Spaceballs, Princess Bride, Harry Potter...the list just keeps going on and on. I dislike: Slash, reviews that don't make sense because they're so full of typos and netspeak, non-proofread stories, 'ghetto-speak' in British fics (mostly Harry Potter), people saying 'conscious' instead of 'conscience' (happens way too often, just like mixing up to/two/too, your/you're, their/they're, loose/lose). Also, conversations that have no other verb than 'said' (I've noticed JK Rowling is pretty bad for this). Not a single reply, exclamation, cry, declaration, statement, argument, demand, remark, counter, not even a shout or yell, just 'said.' Arrrrrghhhh! Okay, now that I'm done ranting, here's my first-ever fanfic...not fantabulous by any means, but I think it's pretty good...and if anyone's interested, I have a really cool (I think) story on fictionpress.com under the same pen name. Please check it out!Anyway, happy reading and/or writing! | |||||
