Author has written 15 stories for Red Dwarf. I'm a twenty-something Suffolk lass currently working for an advertising agency in London. I'm married to the lovely aeronq (another Red Dwarf fanfic author) who painstakingly betas all of my fics, helps fills in my plotholes and puts up with my Chris Barrie obsession. The perfect husband! I've been asked several times how I write my fics, and unfortunately I don't think me explaining it is going to gain me much kudos. In fact, you'll probably think I make about as much sense as Gordon Brown. I have a weird, random way of writing fics. Fic bunnies will usually come to me in a flash of inspiration on the tube on my way to and from work. I'll then usually develop those fic ideas in my head by picking a song on my ipod that best reflects the mood of the fic (or a particular chapter) and repeating it over and over, allowing the idea to develop in my minds eye. You asked for the madness, you got it. I don't write fics chronologically. I don't even write chapters chronologically. Often I'll write the main point of action first and then build the fic around it. Sometimes my mind can't be bothered with the detail in the initial draft, so I'll start with the conversation and build around that. Ha, you still with me or are you standing over the other side of the room pretending you don't know me? I've been writing Red Dwarf fan fiction since I was 16 in 2001. The majority of my fics on here I'm supremely embarassed by - like those pictures of you when you were a geeky teenager that your mum still keeps on the wall. However, I keep them on here because of the lovely reviews I've received, and I also feel that it demonstrates that my writing has improved over the last few years. My English degree has also learned me write stories good. Basically, I think that any of my fics beyond 2005 are fit for human consumption. EDIT: Actually, sorry guys, some of the fics I was getting so damn embarassed by I couldn't even bring myself to read them, even after sitting here on my account for the last 8 years. Apologies if I've deleted something you like (although it's highly unlikely). If you're REALLY desperate for any of the ones I've deleted, I can email you a copy. My current focus is on a series of fics, to which I'm now giving an umbrella term of 'The Ace Chronicles' (Ace/gunporn obsession? Moi?). Each fic as I go is designed to refer to another year as Rimmer's life as Ace. My current list is as follows: I: 'Caterpillars and Butterflies' II.
