I always avoided fanfiction.net before because I'd heard all these horror stories... but man, I love the features.

Ships:
Harry Potter: Harry/Ginny... Ever since OotP came out. I was delighted to read HBP, even though Rowling didn't write the romance very well At least now they're CANON!
Avatar: The Last Airbender: Zutara. XD When I first came to ff.net, I wasn't sure whether I wanted to read A/K or Z/K, but somehow I just wandered into some great Z/K and I got converted.

Interestingly enough, these are the only two fandoms I've ever felt the urge to read fanfic for.
