Author has written 22 stories for M*A*S*H, Lord of the Rings, Silmarillion, Harry Potter, Misc. Plays/Musicals, Artemis Fowl, and Downton Abbey.

Hi everyone. Evermind here. I'm a New Zelander, studied English and Biology, and am really old enough that I should stop wasting my time writing fan fic. Ah well...

What you find here is a rather ecclectic collection of writings (representing a rather ecclectic range of interests), some of them dating back a good ten years or so. As such, the quality is pretty variable. Of the M*A*S*H fics, the only one which I'd really bother with is Shards, though I also have a soft spot for There is a River. The pick of the Harry Potter fics is probably To Bring Him Home, and all the Lord of the Rings stuff listed here is pretty much bollocks. Most of the decent LotR fic I've written is archived elsewhere.

Tolkien has been my favourite author since the age of about seven, and he isn't likely to be knocked from his perch anytime soon. I must confess to slight crushes on both Finrod Felagund and Gildor Inglorion, am a rabid supporter of Gollum/Denethor/Boromir/Turin/Maedhros/Feanor/any other misguided-but-well-meaning character, and a slightly obsessive Aragorn/Eowyn shipper. Oh, and Galadriel. Love Galadriel.

I owe my M*A*S*H fixation to my father, who spent many quiet evenings during my formative years explaining terms like 'brothel', 'rape' and 'suicide' to me in whispers so that mum wouldn't hear. I love the first three seasons with Trapper, Henry and Frank, after which it seems to me that the series kinda jumped the shark. Most of what I've written has slight Hawkeye/Trapper overtones, but you can choose to read it straight if you prefer.

I also write a bit of HP, and have unfortunately developed a serious Severus/Minerva fixation which utterly refuses to be shaken. Again, my favourites tend towards the misguided/underappreciated/seriously flawed and ultimately doomed characters. Hence lots of Severus Death Eater angst. And not much else, really. Though I do have a soft spot for Sev/Lily sweetness.

Apart from these, my favourite books include The Vintner's Luck, Regeneration, All Quiet on the Western Front, and In My Father's Den, and in a more frivolous tone, Artemis Fowl (Trouble/Holly!), Bartimaeus, anything Discworld, most of P.G. Wodehouse, and the Flicka novels.I love Shakespeare, Chaucer, Ovid and the Gawain Poet, will happily read Tolstoy or Hugo, have a passing fondness for Durrell, Lawrence and Hemmingway, and can be relied upon to utterly detest anything by Austen, Dickens, or any of the Brontes. I also have an irrational hatred of Katherine Mansfield and C. K. Stead, after 20 years of teachers and lecturers attempting to convince met that they're the only two authors ever to come out of New Zealand.

Favourite tv series include Downton Abbey (I defy anyone who's ever watched it not to ship Mary/Matthew), Python, Blackadder, Fry & Laurie etc. etc. Favourite movie is The History Boys, without question. Favourite poets include Hone Tuwhare, James K. Baxter, Robyn Hyde and Brett Harte, along with the more predictable Auden, Hardy, Whitman and Tennyson.

In terms of pairings, I will give most things a chance, but I don't tend to write anything especially unconventional. I try to keep my writing as far as possible an extension of canon, and as a general rule dislike overt AUs, OCs or crossovers. I've always felt that the best stories are the ones that could have happened!

Cheers, and thanks for reading.
