Kia ora kids. My name's Kat. New Zealander, 20 years old (as of July 25th. Really I should just write my birthdate, as I have to keep updating this!), studying arts and biology. My two abiding childhood loves, apart from my horse, strawberry ice-cream, and leaping from tall buildings, are The Lord of the Rings and MASH. This is what comes of having hippie parents methinks. One of the indirect results of this is my slight obsession with fanfiction.

I've been a Tolkien fan ever since my mum read me The Hobbit at the age of about four. I then proceeded to demolish The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, Unfinnished Tales etc. etc. in rapid sucession. I'm a rabid supporter of Gollum/Denethor/Boromir/Turin/Maedhros/Feanor/Any other misguided-but-well-meaning character, and a slightly obsessive Aragorn/Eowyn shipper. Oh, and Galadriel. Love Galadriel. I write more poetry than I do fics, most of which is archived elsewhere.

I owe my MASH fixation to my father, who spent many quiet evenings during my early years explaining terms like 'brothel', 'rape' and 'suicide' to me in whispers so that mum wouldn't hear. I love the first three seasons with Trapper, Henry and Frank, after which IMO the series kinda jumped the shark.

I also write a bit of HP, and have recently developed a serious Severus/Minerva fixation which utterly refuses to be shaken. Again, my favourites tend towards the misguided/underappreciated/seriously flawed and ultimately doomed characters. Hence lots of Severus Death Eater angst. And not much else, really. Other favourites include Artemis Fowl (Trouble/Holly!), Bartimaeus, Black Beauty, the Flicka novels, a couple of musicals and any Shakespeare.
