Author has written 21 stories for Tamora Pierce, Bones, and CSI: New York.

I've been writing on fanfic for well over two years and it's been the best writing training I could ever have received, due to people's reviews and the friendsI have met on here who have the same interests. Fanfiction meant that myself and Sonnet Lacewing started a writers' circle - Keyboard Scribblers - and this has helped me write an original novel and a half, along with around 5 other books being finished. Now the agent hunting has begun.

I still write fanfic when I want to practise a different style. My recent foray into CSI:NY has been because I've wanted to tighten by writing, and cut the needless description that isn't suited to the crime genre. I have a WiP - Sleep Tonight - on the go, but the muse seems to want to work on my second original crime novel, so I'll probably just nip back to update every so often on that.

I love writing - as most of us do on here - and I alos like helping people improve their own writing. I'm currently a secondary school teacher in Stockport and I work with children who need a boost with their literacy skills and confidence, teaching English, History, Maths, Geography, R.S and working in the Learning Support base with pupils with SEN. I've been teaching four years and love it. Next year, I'm hoping to start my MA in SEN which I'll do at night school.

A run a crime fiction reading group at Borders in Stockport which happens on the third Monday of the month - if you're ever around drop in.

I am listed as a beta, and I'm happy to look through people's work. I do prefer to beta the writing of people who are closer to my age. I'm 28. As I teach secondary, beta-ing work by younger teenagers can seem a little like marking, as I'll end up thinking what grade GCSE this would be etc.

I have some poems on the fictionpress.com website. My home page is http://www.fictionpress.com/~sarramaks if you care to have a browse - reviews will be most welcome!

Beth, Sylvia, Ros, Ava and Emma - cheers!

Thank you to those people who nominated and voted for Hotwired, Captain Glass and myself on the CSI:NY Fanfiction Awards - I am honoured, and have a lovely shiny avatar also! :)
