I've stopped writing stories for fanfiction.net, but I'm hanging on to this account for the purpose of reading things without ads.

I was lured into the world of fanfiction.net back in July of 2001. I became involved in the fan fiction writing craze thanks to a friend who introduced me to the site, in hopes of sharing her boy band-themed stories with me. I soon became intrigued by the concept of fan fiction, the endless possibilities I had to work with, and the simplicity of sharing my creations to the world with a single click of a button. It was only a matter of weeks before I published my first story.
As a younger teenager, fan fiction writing was one of my main hobbies. It was kind of my own way of practicing my story-writing skills: developing storyboards, digging deep into the realms of character analysis, and bringing to life the impossible in the most canonical way I could.
I began my last fan fiction story in September of 2003, just a week or so after my sixteenth birthday. Disappointingly enough, I lost interest in the story I had started only after writing the second chapter. I had become preoccupied with my own original storylines, and soon left fanfiction.net.

Although I can appreciate the occasional, well-written and plausable fan-created story, I have decided to stop writing fan fiction of my own. Instead, I've been focusing my fiction-writing skills on my own original stories (I'm busy working on a storyline for something which I hope to eventually turn into a comic book or an animated series... Who knows? With any luck, perhaps someday I'll be logging on to fanfiction.net to read crack stories about my own characters. ...Someday).
I haven't completely given up on contributing to the fandoms I enjoy and support, though... I've just decided to express my love for fandoms in a way other than online stories... a way in which I can turn my fanaticism into something that will actually bulk up my portfolio and maybe help me get a job some day: Fan art.
