Author has written 4 stories for Harry Potter, and Twilight. Personal Stuff: I am, as my little brother says, the "old one" of his siblings. But, I'm not too old! I'm a wife and the mother of Twin Boys (obvious, huh!). I dabble with writing 'cause I just have to. I don't post stories unless I have them at least halfway completed or complete. And even tho' it happens, I can't stand to just leave a story dangling! You can also pretty much count on me to write a bunch of fluff. I mean, come on people, don't we have enough drama and crap in our own lives! They do get a bit sexual now and again if you like that and are old enough to read it. If so, I'm the writer for you! Books I love and recommend: Anne of Green Gables series by LM Montgomery is my all time favorite, Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, House of Night series by PC Cast and Kristin Cast, Anything Jane Austen wrote, Gone with the Wind by Margartet Mitchell( I have a very old, very cool 1930 something copy and have read it thirteen times), Anything written by Nora Roberts, Eragon series by Christopher Paolini, Lord of the Rings series by JRR Tolkien, Narnia series by CS Lewis, lately, I've been reading the Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead (I'm in love with Dimitri) and anything else I can get my hands on! Pet Peeves: Stupid people (you know, those just make the same mistakes over and over and the smart people that think it's funny to pretend to be stupid), Cheaters- my fav quote is "once a cheater always a cheater", people who critizes authors for their story idea- especially Twilight fans that praise the brilliant creator of Edward and all things Twilight and then scoff at her for her ending. You don't have to like it- feel free to say so, but don't tell her she was wrong for writing her own idea. Honestly, the audacity...telling the creator she's wrong. It is hers people. Movie Spoiler alert! Half- Blood Prince Movie: Am I the only one that was disappointed in the movie? Here is this great book with all these great plots written by a great author and the movie genius's went and made half of it up! I couldn't believe it. Why did they think burning the burrow was a good plot device? Ron is supposed to be sick at the burrow in the next book, where is he going to be now? And Bill's wedding was to be held at the Burrow? Where now? And it's all just so unnecessary. I was especially affronted when they showed Harry being escorted by Ginny to hide the potions book. It makes him look weak and needy. And then to have them kiss there! I thought it was going to be an extra kiss but NO! It's the only one and its weak. The whole plot of JKK's series is based on Harry's ability to love and they make it something that is Ginny's idea. She even goes on to say it could stay a secret. What?? And then they don't address it again. So is it a secret even from us? Except for Harry being comforted by her at the end it comes across that Harry didn't chose her. He's supposed to have all these happy memories of her while he's hunting horcruxes- love is his motivation to stay alive. And don't even get me started about Neville's portrayal as a butler at Slughorns party. I mean, seriously! I didn't hate the movie- parts are entertaining, certain effects are stunning but the Burrow burning and the love plot didn't move me in the least. Totally boring. When I think of all my fav parts of the book- Ginny taking up for Harry against Hermione for her comments about hexing Draco and Harry's detention with Snape during quidditch and the amazing spontaneous kiss after the game- were just gone. There wasn't even a good death eater tower battle. Just Harry throwing a few mad hexes at Snape in front of Hagrid's hut. I wanted to see Bill get hurt and the scene with Fleur and Molly. Remus and Tonks declaring their love would have been fun as well. Good grief! I keep thinking of all these great parts they could have really done well and even enhanced with a bit of Hollywood magic! But, nothing. I would have rather they stuck in another horcrux search than burn the burrow. Off my soapbox now for a bit! ~Christy Current Stories: 1. Ginny's Viewpoint and the Talk at the Lake- Complete 2. Change is in the Air- WIP - Part 9 is up. Updated 08-10-09 Wish I had more for you right now. Things are still pretty good with Mom. But those incidentals I mentioned before that go along with cancer that you don't expect. Yeah those. They are kinda starting to wear on her. Her joints ache all the time and her hands are just plain screwed up. She's having trouble bending her thumbs w/o a LOT of pain. They've changed her back to seeing her more often. Now my Dad has had another stroke and is having major trouble with his knees and has gone thru surgery. My muse is still on vacation, but I've actually been working on the next parts. The twins are now about to enter 1st grade. Yikes! I'm having to be uber- super - working Mom. I'm not really good at that. I much prefer my old way of fly-by-the-seat-of-my- pants fun mom. All this structure really makes me clausterphobic- can you be clausterphobic from structure? Feels like it. School sucks even when you aren't really in school. I hate all the paperwork and learning 'sight words' every night, makin' lunches...yuck. I always scoffed at homeschooler but now I see the draw. And people are comparing my kiddos more than ever. One teacher can't even tell them a part. And they are not identical at all. Their haircolor is totally different for goodness sake. Not to mention trying to keep up with my sick Mom and Dad! I'm totally wiped out from all of that every single day. Other than that life is cool! ~christy 3. Ginny's Viewpoint & the Missing Talk at the Lake- Complete. A mature version of the original. I really got a lot of requests for this, so I decided to post it. I really appreciate all the great reviews. 4. Creation- complete one-shot, my first Twilight fic. Got this idea after reading some of the funny catch phrases on one of the forums. Thought the idea of vampire sperm aka "spoo" hysterical. Then, thought about how much Rosalie wanted her baby. (I'm extremly sympathetic to that as I myself had to wait 10 freakin' yrs for my cuties) If spoo existed then why not Rosalie too- albeit from another source. It would be like her eggs were frozen, but they should still work. | |||||||
