Author has written 8 stories for Red Eye, Batman Begins/Dark Knight, and Harry Potter. Well, to begin with my name is Caryn, I'm 27 and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm working full time so creative writing is sort of a new outlet for me. I'm actually not entirely used to it since in high school and college, I was moreso interested in journalistic/human interest type writing but in dealing with a lot of stresses in my past, I like the outlet that this has encouraged. My favorite movies/musicals so far are Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge, and Les Miserables (I know it's going to become a movie in the next year or so and am very excited about that). I also like Miss Saigon but that musical isn't represented here. I rather wish it was but maybe it's the disinterest in the Vietnam war. I think the different stories regarding Phantom of the Opera a lot of which are very interesting drew me to this site and got me interested in writing again. Since I've taken one creative writing course in college which was kind of disaster since I hit some pretty nasty writer's block, I haven't attempted creative writing since due to the fact that I couldn't get an original premise for a story. But I feel in doing a few continuations to already present themes i.e. Phantom of the Opera, Red Eye(though, I wouldn't say I particulary love the concept of the movie due to inconsistencies and plot holes, I feel drawn to it due to the perspective of women's empowerment which I feel should be represented-and I don't understand why people want to turn it into a love story. No offense, someone explain it to me because maybe there is something I'm not getting) Books that I enjoy are The Left Behind series, different Christian fiction, Phantom of the Opera (the original) by Gaston Lereox and Phantom by Susan Kay and various Dean Koontz novels. The current stories that I have done so far are: Survivor-My first fiction based on the movie Red Eye which is complete Chasing Dreams-Sequel to Survivor exploring the aspect of redemption-also a Red Eye fiction which is complete. Haunted-A crossover story from Red Eye and Batman Begins which is in progress but due for completion 4/27 I am planning to do a sequel to Haunted and I just came up with a title for it-Shadows on the Wall Also, tentatively planning to coauthor a story and will let you know more about that when it comes to fruitition. My stories will not dwell in romance between Jackson Rippner and any of his targets/victims. I'm sorry but that is completely unrealistic to me but those who know me here already know my POV, so don't ask me to direct it that way. I'll take suggestions from reviewers to a point but not with the issue of romance. | |||||||||
