It's new and I'd like to encourage all to join and/or vote for the entries each week. Thanks! 7/24/09 - I'd like to make an announcement to all those who hate Viktor. I used to hate Viktor. He was a roadblock to R/Hr and I hated his guts. Recently, however, I realized that he’s probably a good guy that just never had a chance with her due to Ron. I suddenly see him as something completely differently now that I’m getting older. Now that I’ve put away my silly ship ties and looked at him from an objective view, I see him sympathetically. I like him so much more now that I’ve looked at him from my view rather than Ron’s. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, or maybe it's because that although Viktor was a plot device, he is also a person. Haven't we all liked someone just a little too much and found that that person doesn't feel the same way? Why can't Viktor have just liked Hermione like any of us could love another person? No, of course not. He's an asshole who just wants to steal Hermione from Ron. This is so. If Ron had gotten off his ass and stopped assuming Hermione would always be there, then he could have gone with her to the Yule Ball. She wouldn't have said, "Oh, well. I like Viktor more." She still loved Ron. Viktor was not deliberately trying to steal her. Also, I’ve recently become infuriated that everyone likes to depict Viktor as an asshole or an physically and emotionally abusive man in Hermione’s life. Why do you have to pick on him? He’s never done anything disrespectful or anything less than nice towards her. If anyone would be abusive, it would be Cormac. He’s tentacled and Hermione has had to pull away from his grappling fingers on many occasions. He’s also overbearing and shows other signs of other than nice behavior. But everyone chooses Viktor to be the abusive one. It's not right. So, in short: Stop hating on Viktor. 2/1/09 - Today, I looked at my profile just to see when I signed up to FF.net. I'm astonished to find that I've been on for a little more than three years. But I've been reading for much longer than that. Between writing my Harry Potter play for my class and the debut of OOTP. Is that five years? Six? I didn't sign up for a long while. Then I looked at the date on my first story. It was almost a year after I signed up. I'm shocked and amazed. Seriously. It feels like I've been writing for an eternity. I now realize - as I look up at my links and find FF.net first and that it is my homepage as well - that fanfiction is a big part of my life and has been for many years now. It's probably molded my reading. It might have molded my life. Oh. My. Lord. I've just had a huge epiphany: I'm the biggest geek to have ever lived. (I shall keep this here for posterity.)
