Author has written 52 stories for Beetlejuice, Grim and Evil, MirrorMask, Discworld, Office, Kim Possible, League of Super Evil, and Monsters vs. Aliens. Ever notice that when you use the word "fluid" as an adjective, it sounds pretty, but when you use it as a noun, it just sounds kinda gross? These are the kind of thoughts that occupy me. Fandoms and the Fic Forcast -- Kim Possible: Radar not active. Hiatus, my friends. -- The Office: Scattered showers. I'm more or less active here again. -- Monsters Vs. Aliens: Hail.Yeah, this is my obsession. It's odd to have a fandom I literally adore every character in, but this one... It's phenomenal. -- League of Super Evil: Chilly.MvA has stolen my comedy muse. We'll see what happens. Newsfront! Update (6/18/09) -- Near Misses and Total Hits -- Final drabble up, after only two months! I was always planning to end this collection with a couple of moderately intimate chapters, but I lost steam on the project and had really forgotten about the whole thing until I found the notebook in which I'd written all my drabbles. This was the only one I deemed worthy of being posted. It's kind of sweet, sexy and unique. I'm fairly proud of it, and especially of the last line. A fairly fitting epilogue to that D/S streak I had there for a while. Off To One Side -- I'd probably label this as complete, but I'm not going to shut it down yet. Tales From Area 5X -- What's up next for this? ...Dunno, honestly. This is a repository for randomness. You can't plan randomness. That's the point. Latest one-shot(s) -- Building Bridges. So, the creative process is kind of a bitch. After so many failed attempt at something of this nature, all my ideas and notions finally gestated into this. Which I love. And it was easy to write, which was SO nice. I've had this horrible MvA block, having to srape and dig for anything and hating it all. Then... this just trotted out, being deepish and kind of fun. Anyway, the whole point (which you probably figured out from, y'know, READING it) was that even though Susan and the Doc are both formerly human, they don't really have a great perspective or empathy going on with each other on an emotional level. And definitely not on an intellectual level. But there's still a sort of comfort and connection happening at this unforseen level. Which is to say, they don't understand each other, but they start to learn and give and take in their interactions. Which is infinitely more interesting than them just "getting" each other because of an accident of species. For the near future: A couple of different things I've got on my plate... First and foremost is work on an Office collab fic with Steph about Kelly and Toby during the episode Company Picnic. Then posting of my first ever Night at the Museum fic (Hoo boy! Obsession for this hit hard and fast...). Possibly a little Beetlejuice one-shot (fandoms new and old, I'm tellin' ya...). Somewhere along the line, the last two chapters in PICKIRBY (Kelly and Oscar). A little while down the line, a sequel to my Gallaxhar/Computer fic ITWNSC (More space arguing! Can you stand the wait?). Fairly soon, a belated B-day fic for Killy (I haven't forgotten, I swear!), which will be probably be KaPam. And maybe someday a sequel to Trading Up (hopefully). Well, I'm old enough to know better, but just barely young enough to still get away with it. But definitely too old to still be watching cartoons this much. I'm a lover of oddball fandoms and characters, and am afflicted by many but very tiny plot bunnies. Canon series OTPs are nearly always anathema to me. Multichaptered fics with plotlines and continuity are a mystery yet to be explored by my muse. Witty banter and off-the-wall metaphors are my antidrug. My favorite characters tend to be the ones who are snarky and sarcastic, ridiculously hapless, and/or mad scientists (where applicable). It's, like, the most socially acceptable form of necrophilia!) Night at the Museum: Jedidiah/Octavius (Their love is practically canon! They can't be any gayer together without dissolving into spontaneous rainbows!) The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy: Grim/Mandy (Not in a sappy way. In a "Dear lord, I'm stuck with YOU for the rest of eternity" way, with extra twists of creepy and wrongsick.) Not that I'm really involved in the fandom anymore...
