The stories I am currently working on are as follows and in that order:
Out of the Darkness - Summer of my German Soldier
The Journey's End - Labyrinth (I am really hoping to finish this before continueing to post it. Somewhat stuck, but intend to do something with it.)
I do consider myself to be a serious writer, and fan fiction is, for me a step towards writing on a more professional level.
The kinds of reviews I will leave
I will never leave one sentence reviews, because I think it's very important for me to leave an objective critique about both good and not so good aspects of a story. I am very nit picky about what I read. I put a great deal of thought and time into the reviews I submit. When people respond rudely to me, then I will ban them from contacting me.
I will not lie while sharing my thoughts about a story. Yes, some of my opinions about writing are subjective, but a lot of the reviews I have recieved are as well, so it pretty much evens out.
The reviews people leave for me
I truly appreicate the people who read my work and I always try to give something back to the people who critique my work even if it is just a few words or a public 'thank you'. I will never explain away holes or describe characters in my stories through the Author's Notes. People should be able to read and fully understand everything in the story without having to read the author's notes at all.
I will not change a story around to suit one or two people. If you don't like the way the material is presented, fine, but it doesn't mean that I will listen to or heed the suggestion. Most of the finished stories will stay as they are and I will not go back and change them. Anonymous reviews that get redundant will be removed.
I am going to reemphisize that if you get rude or preachy in your reviews I will either remove them or report you to fan fiction net. There is no reason to leave these sorts of reviews! It is not constructive and it's annoying.
My stories are written in American English, and as George Bernard Shaw once said: 'England and America are two countries divided by a common language.' ;)
My personal pet peeves on writing fan fiction (Yes, I have a lot of them and the list grows every month or so).
Being told how to present or write my stories. Suggestions or ideas are cool and I am open to them.
Flaming. I don't insult people and I have better things to do with my time than to resort to junior highish insults to make myself look important.
Incest and chan elements. I have no moral objection to slash if the writing is in character.
Unrealistic premises or pairups.
Spelling, grammar as well as presentation and formatting attention.
Rewriting the entire fan fiction universe with the sole intention of tossing in an original character and using the famous 'what if?' scenario. AU is okay, but most stories that have the 'what if' element turn out to be Mary Sues.
Shorter than short chapters and the overuse of dialogue.
The acts of 'borrowing' or 'stealing' the creative works of other people.
'Parodies' or 'humor' stories that are forced and not even remotely amusing or stories that make fun of real people.
That's pretty much it.
If you want to borrow a character I created, then send me a PM and ask.
