Okay, note to self, don't write in Simple Mode. Ever.
Anywho, name's Lauren. I wrote a fic for Corpse Bride, but I'm never going to finish it. It's here if you're interested. I have considered adding it on here, but it's just too much effort to expend on a story I don't intend to finish.
Right now I'm pretty much in love with Labyrinth and David Bowie. If you haven't seen the movie, go rent it now and watch it. Yes, right this instant.
One thing I think I will mention is that I really dislike lyrics in stories on here. By lyrics I mean entire portions of a song (either from the movie soundtrack or any song in general) just pasted into the middle of a story. It bothers me because not only did you (in almost every case) not come up with them, but this is a website for writing stories, not sharing lyrics. I have no problem if you provide a playlist or song recommendation in the author notes or your profile, but it just doesn't belong in the story if you ask me. Lastly, it doesn't look good; I will usually skip the lyrics if they are just pasted in one big blurb and not incorporated into dialogue (which is pretty much the case in every instance I have seen). However, I have no problem with one line of a song being used as a chapter title, though I often think that writers can do better on their own.
"You have to resign yourself to wasting lots of trees before you write anything really good. That's just how it is. It's like learning an instrument. You've got to be prepared for hitting wrong notes occasionally, or quite a lot. That's just part of the learning process. And read a lot. Reading a lot really helps. Read anything you can get your hands on." -J.K. Rowling

If you happen to come across any challenges/plot bunnies/whatever for any of the movies/books listed here, send me a message! I'm looking to start writing again, but I figure I'd do better to start out slow.
In addition, if you stumbled here and need a beta (proofreader), I'd be more than happy to help you out; just send me a message.
That's it for now I suppose.
