About me: I'm basically your average teenage moron, trying to cope with all the non-important things in life that always seem to take priority over the things that I would rather be doing. I live with my head in the clouds, but I also like to imagine that I have a semi-firm grasp on reality; however, this is probably just a delusion that I entertain to convince myself that I am at least relatively normal. I play trombone in my school's marching and symphonic bands (and occasionally the jazz band), and I'm also the goalkeeper for my high school soccer team. When I'm not marching my butt off, practicing for an audition, doing homework, or diving after soccer balls, you can find me settled in front of the computer, reading a good book, working on my current drawing project, tracking down some various form of wildlife, or simply relaxing (preferably by the coast). As to my place in the world, I'm a band geek, overly obsessive about my grades, lost amid the world of AP classes, an artist (although due to high school, I'm being forced to take a language in lieu of more fun electives...), and I practically live at school (what with band and soccer, I spend more time at school than I do at home). Some shameless self-advertising here: http://dividednotconquered.deviantart.com/ It's new, and I'm still working out the kinks/getting used to everything, but I should have more art up in the near future. I, PhantomPenguin, do solemnly swear to review all the fics I enjoy, regardless of the number of reviews, its age, or anything else. I have joined the Review Revolution! I did update Illuminations, and I have another chapter in the works, so expect something around Thanksgiving. I also have the first two chapters in my new Alice in Wonderland story mostly completed, and I'm going to be posting the first one in the relatively near future. I'm extremely excited about that, because it actually requires that I have some sort of plot worked out (which I do, for once). So, some exciting things going on in November. I should be following through with these promises relatively soon, so keep an eye out (or two, if you can spare them). 10/4/09 So, happy October, everybody! The weather is slowly beginning to get chillier, school is ever so slowly progressing, and I have tickets to see Wicked. I don't have the words to describe my excitement. The Wicked tour is going to be in my area in a few months, and we ordered our tickets a few days ago. I am tres heureaux! In the manner of stories, I'm actually working on a multi-chapter Alice in Wonderland fic. I can't promise any posts for a while with that one, though, because I'm trying to hammer out a strong plot so that I don't lose initiative halfway through. Quote: "One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain." ~Bob Marley My taste in music is incredibly eclectic, but my favorite genres would have to be classic and modern rock, alternative, and soundtracks (both instrumental and vocal). I've also developed a love of new age, metal, classical and jazz. All of my television intake involves cartoons, Whose Line is it Anyway?, random sitcoms, or trivia shows such as Jeapordy and Cash Cab. With that said, though, I really don't watch TV much anymore. I typically read fantasy, general fiction, and nonfiction, with a few classics and mangas thrown in here and there. I watch every genre of movie, but I really enjoy action/adventure, comedy, Disney (because you're never too old for Disney), and, loath as I am to admit it, romantic comedies... Musicals are love, especially Wicked, RENT, and Phantom of the Opera. If I ever have the chance to meet a few celebrities, I'd love to meet Idina Menzel, Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, Ellen DeGeneres, J.K. Rowling, Viggo Mortensen, Joe Alessi, and Hugh Jackman. I would also like Michael Crawford to follow me around and sing all day, and for John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Bach, Danny Elfman, David Maslanka, and David Holsinger to team up and compose a theme song for my life. You don't even want to get me started on fictional characters I'd love to meet. Seriously. You'll be here all day. If you and your friends break out into song in a public area put this on your profile. Mary Poppins, RENT, Journey, Family Guy, Wicked, Jekyll & Hyde, Disney... If you have ever song-quoted at people and kept a straight face, copy and paste this into your profile. The best part is when they don't even know that you're doing it. If you should be doing homework right now, copy this into your profile. Story of my life... There's nothing wrong with arguing with yourself. It's when you argue with yourself and LOSE when it's weird. If you agree, copy this and put it in your profile. If you have music in your soul, post this in your profile. Honestly, I'm not entirely sure what else there is in my soul. If you have ever been so obsessed with something that now everone is scared of you because of its effects copy this into your profile. If you like animals, give one a home if you can. If you already have or can't but want to spread the word, copy this into your profile. If you have ever heard of National Talk Like a Pirate Day, copy this into your profile. Would you believe that they actually asked about this on Jeopardy? If you would rather see a Broadway show than go to an amusement park, copy and paste this into your profile. Definately! If, for some odd reason, you noticed that it was a miracle that something from the ship didn’t conk Lord Beckett in the noggin when he was about to die, copy and paste this to your profile. If you've noticed that every person Elizabeth Swann kisses is killed, copy and paste this onto your profile. The people in the world are black and white. If you would be the only green person in the world copy this into your profile. If you hear voices of the characters in your head...copy and paste this on your profile. I'm not sure if I should be concerned about this one or not...they do make excellent conversationalists =D If you were sad when Steve Irwin died, copy this into your profile. SEVERUS SNAPE IS GOOD! I STAND BY MY GREASY HARIED POTIONS MASTER! POST THIS IN YOUR PROFILE AND SPREAD THE TRUTH! ...AND WE WERE RIGHT!! Very few people know who Danny Elfman is, much less do they like him. If you enjoy Danny Elfman's breath-taking music, copy this into your profile. Insult marching band, and you insult an EXTREMELY fast mob of kids with various instruments that can be shoved into VERY unpleasant places. And mine is one of the most painful instruments out there... | |||||||||
