praying for a fairytale:
once upon a time, in a quiet (but dull) village, there was a girl.
she was just an ordinary girl, with ordinary mouse coloured hair braided in long plaits down her back. she loved fairytales like cinderella, that proved that just about anyone could reach their dreams, if they tried.
as years went by, she went from having a fringe thicker than custard and wearing leggings and jelly shoes, to converse, eyeliner, and skinny jeans. she cut her mousey hair short to make her look older, and forgot all those childish fairytales.
the ordinary girl felt sad, as she moved away from her ordinary house, but whilst packing cardboard boxes found a book. it was old and dusty, and the pictures were faded and greying. the stories remained the same, though, and as she reread the tales from her childhood the dreams and memories came flooding back, reminding her that no matter what happened, her happy ending would one day come.
today, living in a faraway land, she has some serious procrastination issues and an obsession with harry potter. she can be indecisive, cranky, bitchy, narrow-minded and lazy, but those are only her best qualities.
but still, after all these years, she believes that one day she'll grow up, like a butterfly from a chrysalis, and live happily ever after... just like a real fairytale...
it just hasn't happened yet.
the end.
