~~ DAWN STAG ~~
A strange sort of Scheherazade
A teller of tales and a wanderer of the world, DawnStag is a seeker of inspiration and a story of two halves herself, stuck within the void of two conflicting social identities that yearn for her allegiance. She is the socialite, outwardly a butterfly in an ever changing world, the essence of frivolity and originality, pawed at by society because of her desires and mysteries. But under the pristine surface lies a soul so much darker and fantastical than the mask worn in the light of day. She is drawn to the gruesome, the decadent and the artistic, sating her own thirst with the written word. She is a writer with a love of vibrant description, of emotion, of twists and turns, of whole new worlds not even discovered.
And that was the biggest load of pretentious wank I have ever written.
Hello, the name's Beth. I am a big movie and comic book fan and tend to write (published and unpublished) fanfiction across a multitude of fandoms, I also write original fiction but that could use some serious work; and to be honest, work I don't do. Procrastination should have been my middle name instead of Katherine, but apparently Katherine is cuter. Pah. To be honest I'm not particularly sure why I started this account, I got an urge ( I get a lot of those) and decided just to do it. That's one of the things about me, I'm spontaneous. Always have been and always will be. In fact coupled with my contrariness, stubborn attitude, ability to annoy (anytime, anywhere), lack of concentration and inability to shut up even when I really should, I am the sort of person only the brave should take on. And even then people still run for the hills- screaming might I add.
You still here? Are you freaked out yet? A little bit concerned?
No?
Well then kudos, and welcome to insanity.
~~MY FAVOURITES~~

Although I have to say dog nose is now on the list ever since he bit my neighbour's dog; poor Heidi now won't come near my house : (
~~ FANFICTION ~~
MY WORK
Fandoms I plan to dabble in:
Phantom of the Opera
Reign of Fire
King Arthur
Pirates of the Caribbean (POTC fanfiction can be found on my other account created purely for this fandom- I'll post a link soon but you can find it under Graine Ni Mhaille in the mean time)
X-Men: The Movie
Secret Window
Batman Begins
21 Jump Street
Supernatural
The Covenant
Phantom of the Opera
The Monster Within Me: Heart and Soul- Oneshot. Complete.
The Angel's Angel- Erik/Original Character. This story has been deleted due to the permanent hiatus I had no intention of ending. Blame the plot bunnies. But with any luck it will be back, just give me some time to work on it. Once it's complete I'll post it. In the mean time, no one try and steal Araminta my OC, I'll hurt you in ways you wouldn't imagine possible and Erik would be very proud of : ) I kid you not.
About Phantom of the Opera
I am a huge phan of The Phantom of the Opera, I first heard the steve harley and sarah brightman version of the title song when I was five and was hooked immediately.I have never been to see the play due to funds and time- don't have either, but things are looking up and I might be seeing it sometime this year. I adored the movie, its my fave movie of all time and can be very defensive of me Gerry- for me he showed everything the phantom was and has the sexiest and best phantom voice of all. Micheal Crawford is a close second I guess, but I won't get into that...
E/C: I'm not really a phan of these if I'm honest, I only really like E/Cs if their modern day or AU. I will admit there are a few fics that are E/C which I do like such as my darling sis LoveMe1010's -The Destiny of Souls Entwined. I generally feel that Christine would not have gone back to Erik because she was genuinely scared of him. Sure she probably did love him to a point but not in the way he needed her too, I don't think they would have lasted. The ones I do like (such as Lotte's one) are quite different because they grow and learn to love each other in a deeper sense after a certain event or whatever, rather than Christine turning around and thinking "Oh wait I made a mistake, I love The Phantom more than Raoul afterall". Now just because I say this doesn't mean I think people shouldn't write E/C fics; you gotta write what your heart tells you, now if that means E/C then go for it, it just doesn't mean I'll read it but I will appreciate well written ones if I get pointed in the right direction.
Raoul: right, another confession. I don't particularly like Raoul, I wouldn't say that he is a complete fop and should be dispensed with but I don't like him- end of story. This can be put down simply to a clash of personalities I s'pose- I find him too nice. Yes nice is good, everything he did he did for Christine because he loved her, but I have found that in both the Leroux novel and the movie he gets on my nerves rather. I find him slightly patronising, acting like Christine needs mollycoddling (something I loathe because I find myself at the brunt of it everyday) and he just doesn't get the hint! I think Christine and Raoul are perfect for eachother and will happily read R/Cs 'cos i think it's how it works- Raoul and Christine belong together. Of course I'll happily read a fic where there is Raoul bashing (I like a good laugh lol) but (sighs and takes diplomatic route) we gotta give him credit for being brave.
E/OC: big BIG phan of EOC! The way I see it is just 'cos Christine knocked him back doesn't mean he wouldn't be able to find love with another- preferably, stronger, more intelligent woman. But for some unfathomable reason I HATE E/M and E/MG fics (possibly because Jennifer Ellison has bigger boobs than me - I honestly don't know). The majority of my work will be OC, and I will certainly do my best to not make them Mary-Sues.
Most of my work will be movie based mainly because the character of the Phantom in it leaves a lot more room for interpretation, unlike the Leroux novel- plus I'm terrified of attempting a Leroux based fic and have it turn out insulting to the man's wonderful mind!
Reign of Fire
Reign of Fire: Rising From the Ashes- Creedy/Original Character. Complete.
About Reign of Fire
Now seeing as I have co-written a RoF fic I figured I should say a word or two. As you probably know by now, Creedy is alive in my fanfic. I don't usually go for the whole bringing dead characters back but being a Gerry Butler fan, I couldn't not do it. For me Creedy was an unsung hero in the movie and he was the light hearted comedy when everything else was quite "intense". I have included him for said comedy factor and also because it's my artistic right lol! It's just a bit of fun so anyone out there who hates the idea that I brought Creedy back- chill out!

King Arthur
Shadows in the Dark: Niveus Miles Militis- Tristan/Isolde (technically an OC), on hiatus and under revision.
About King Arthur
I only saw King Arthur like four days before I was inspired to write my fanfiction which is dedicated to my dear friend Danni. I hope to write several more KA fics because I have plenty ideas for plotlines; but we'll see how it goes. My ultimate fave character is Tristan, I absolutely ADORE him and thus, the majority of any fics that I write will be Tristan OC with the odd Knights OC etc. Guinevere will always end up with Arthur and it may become a regular occurence for Tristan, Lancelot and Dagonet to live- but I will try my best to make it credible and actually believable. And I know I said in my RoF section that I'm not a fan of bringing characters back from the dead but the way I see it is if I twist the plot before their deaths I'm not actually bringing them back to life (lol excuses excuses).
Author's Note- 24th Decemeber 2007
Firstly I wish to apologise for the halt in work on my King Arthur fanfiction "Shadows in the Dark: Niveus Miles Militis", a number of unfortunate obstacles caused me to disappear from FF.Net but I hope to soon be back. Concerning "Niveus Miles Militis", I have decided that I am going to completely overhaul the story. It will have the same plot and characters, but with a slightly new look with (hopefully) writing of a much better quality. I reread it the other day and was completely ashamed at the content and how badly written it was. Revision has started but it's going to be a long and slow process due to me being very very busy in RL.
The Covenant
Lancelot and Guinevere- Reid/Sarah one-shot. Complete.
About The Covenant
All I can say is I blame Keeley. I didn't want to see this film, expecting a crap horror movie along the lines of The Craft (which btw I did actually enjoy) and BOY was I WRONG! So far I've only gotten a one-shot done, but I'm planning on several Reid/OCs and a possible Tyler/OC thrown in for good measure; they will include supernatural elements, OCs, and whatever else I can think of but I promise to make them as believable and close to the film as my muse will let me. Reid Garwin is my fave of the Sons, not that I know why because if I knew him in RL I'd probably want to kick him in the family jewels more than once, but he is and thusly more than likely a major protagonist (if an antagonising one lol) in future fics. I have ideas brewing away at the moment but for now if I write anything its only going to be one-shots until I finish uni for the summer.
Areas within fanfiction:
Mary-Sues: dare I say it? Okay, Mary-sues don't bother me that much. obviously it gets a tad predictable when they are all beautiful, talented and broken but I figure you gotta write a Mary-Sue to get the worst of it out of your system. I try not to create Mary-Sues but there will always be one that gets away. And if we're all honest with ourselves then we have to admit that no matter what OC character we create, there will always be a level of Mary-Sueness within them; it's all part of the process.
Time-travel and Self insertion: I quite like some of these, there are some really good ones out there and I think they should be cut some slack. There are some brilliantly written ones that get stuck in the pile with the ones that aren't so good and I don't think you can just expect them all to be crap. I can't see the problem that some people have with these types of stories, like I said, you should write what YOU want to write- but I do worry that they get a tad predictable and all end up sounding pretty much the same.
Slash: I'm not personally a fan of writing slash but I will definitely say there are some incredibly well written stories out there that are and I have enjoyed reading. One of my most used sayings is "don't knock it til you've tried it", well I have tried writing slash and I have to say it doesn't work for me, but I'll read it- come on, who doesn't like a bit of Jack/Ianto?! lol.
