Let's see, about me: well, I am a 21 year old female. I love chocolate and coffee (without which I wouldn't have survived the past six years!) and cooking (especially baking!), and I've been reading fiction since before the first HP book came out.
I've always loved to read, it was an escape from the real world... When I discovered fanfiction years and years ago, before ffnet was even created, it was like a whole new world had opened up! But, I haven't written very much, mainly because I don't like most of my writing! I have an extremely active imagination, so I have lots of ideas! In fact, I used to write in both the Andromeda and Star Trek: Voyager fandoms (under another penname), however, that was about nine years ago and those stories were an embarrassment! I have begun to write more, and I'm taking a leap and posting a few pieces but I'm much more into reading than writing...:-D!
I'm a pretty friendly person so feel free to drop me a line:-)!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
My absolute favorite fandom is Harry Potter!
My favorite characters are Harry Potter, Sirius Black, and to a smaller extent James Potter. Most of what I write is in the HP fandom and most of what I read is also in the HP fandom.
My favorite pairing is Sirry (meaning Sirius/Harry!) and most of what I write is about that pairing, both platonic and romantic. Something about them inspires me to write! I also really love the whole concept of girl!Harry. I think it's fascinating how the entire story changes with just that one change, so I'm probably going to be exploring this plot idea for a while!
I am pretty open-minded when it comes to pairings, so, I read pretty any HP pairing! There are a few pairings that bother me, mostly because I've read so many badly written stories with those characters. So, I tend to not enjoy Snape/Lily; Harry/Ginny; Harry/Hermione; Harry/Draco; and Harry/Severus. Also, Harry/Ron and Harry/Lucius are slowly becoming added to this list. One character that I can very rarely read is Snape. I can't stand him. I know there are a lot of Snape fans...but I'm not one of them!
It takes a lot to squick me but non-con stuff (especially rape) definitely bothers me. So, I avoid it but I am otherwise generally very open-minded and will read almost anything once. As for my writing, I do try to edit on my own and make sure the mistakes are kept to a minimum. Sadly, I don't have a beta at the moment, but if anyone has the time I could definitely use one!
I do actually read fiction in a lot of other fandoms, including: L&O: CI, L&O: SVU, LotR, Grey's Anatomy, Hogan's Heroes, JAG, Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, PotC, Keys to the Kingdom, Sailor Moon, BtVS, X-Men, Disney, Star Trek: Voyager, Studio 60, Andromeda, and many other fandoms!
Some of my favorite parings from other fandoms, include: Aragorn/Elladan, Aragorn/Elrohir, Goren/Eames, Jack/Elizabeth, Lynette/Tom, Mark/Mer, Olivia/Elliot, Spike/Buffy, Betty/Daniel, Harm/Mac (sometimes), Serena/anyone (but Darien, Seiya, Raye, Mina, or Ami), Kathryn Janeway/Tom Paris, Storm/Wolverine, Mulan/Shan Yu, Danny/Jordan, Matt/Jordan, Beka/Dylan, Dylan/Rhade...and so many more! I generally tend to enjoy odd, unconventional pairings. :-D!
ABOUT MY STORIES:
Right now the main thing I'm working on as far as writing is my One Wish universe - I'm actually going through and revising the whole thing to make it flow better and to ensure that there aren't any OCs/Mary Sues/Gary Stus.
It's supposed to be an AU where James and Lily had a daughter, Maria Jamie Potter, instead of a son. In addition, instead of Peter, the spy is someone else in the Order, so James and Lily end up surviving the attack. Maria is still the girl-who-lived but the attack happened in a very different way from the books. One Wish starts in January of Maria's seventh year. However, I am putting up drabbles and short stories, as well as embedding flash backs into the actual story that explain what has happened in Maria and everyone else's lives up to this point. If you have any questions please leave a review or PM me and I will be happy to explain!
Currently, I have four chapters up in OW, with the fifth being worked on right now. Almost all of the future plot and past history is worked out and outlined, so
mainly I just have to actually connect the ideas, flesh out the chapters, and
then edit. So, hopefully OW will be updated at least once a month, possibly sooner depending on when and if I get time.
I am working on a short story that shows Maria's sorting, to help explain why people are not in the house you would expect them to be in. It's basically finished I really only have to do the editing and then I will post it.
Also, I have five drabbles/short stories ranging from 177 to 649 words that are set in the OW universe. I would recommend reading them all in this order (chronological):
1. One Wish, Chapters 1-3
2. One Wish: I'm Not Jealous!
3. One Wish: Lingerie
4. One Wish: Dropped
5. One Wish, Chapter 4, part one
6. One Wish, Chapter 4, parts 2-3 (coming soon!)
OW: Tattoo and OW: Piercing are set earlier in the time-line. One Wish: Strange Sortings is also set earlier in the time-line, but after Tattoo and Piercing. Eventually when I finish OW I do plan to go back and write about happened in the years before. Probably I'll write a prequel and essentially envelop most of the drabbles/short one-shots already written.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
One
thing that has been pointed out to me...Hermione in OW is getting
bashed. I usually actually like Hermione. I think she's very
intelligent and a strong character, at least up through Book 4.
However, in OW I'm trying to show her from Maria's POV. And Maria is
very biased against her. As the story goes on, the bias should fade a
bit and it hopefully won't seem as if I'm bashing Hermione.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, Live To Be A Hundred is an AU of OW, looking at a world where Sibyll Trelawney didn't make it to the meeting and her prophecy wasn't heard. This basically was a rabid plotbunny that wouldn't leave me alone. So, the updates for this are going to be very infrequent and slow, probably I won't really start to flesh this out until One Wish is mostly finished.
My Sirry Drabble, the one written for the Sirius100 Naughty challenge may eventually be tied into LTBAH. It's pretty unlikely that it will be tied into OW. A major difference between OW and LTBAH is that OW has a serious, romantic relationship between the two main characters while LTBAH will (hopefully) have a close, platonic relationship between those same two characters.
My newest little one shot is Perfidious. I have no idea where it came from; my muse just blindsided me with it. Heh, I couldn't sit still until I wrote it down. So, yeah. It's not part of anything, it's just a random story about...girl!Harry. (Because apparently that's the only type of story I can write lately).
Also, I have a set of four drabbles that I wrote for Sirius100's challenges. They (once again) unsurprisingly contain a girl!Harry, but like Perfidious, they don't tie into One Wish - at least not at the moment.
Oh, and in case you were wondering...Maria Potter is absolutely NOTHING like me...I'm a hell of a lot nicer for one :-)!
