Author has written 88 stories for Dark Angel, X-Men, Farscape, Lost World, Gilmore Girls, Doctor Who, Primeval, Eureka, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Vampire Diaries. Hey folks, figured it had been a long time since I updated this profile, and well, being as that I've been posting here for twelve years, we were due a change. :D I go by many many names... You can follow me on twitter as well if you like, @sunspecops - most folks know me as Danae Bowen from years upon years ago, through my Voyager and Farscape days, Roguie started during my X-Men and Dark Angel days, and I'm thinking of a change now too, so who knows who I'll be next year. The real person in me answers to Lea and lives in Ontario, Canada, which means I love the letter U. Favour. Colour. Honour. Yup, I'm Canadian and that's the Queen's English where I'm from, and I'll write by it thanks. I am 36 years old, have more grey hairs than brown, and for the most part really don't mind. I've got two dogs, Maquis and Jericho, four turtles, Mappy, Snappy, Stanley and Mimi, and a bearded dragon - Kiwi. I've got a small house, a growing family, two small cars, and a big piece of land - all of that means, as much as I'd love to write professionally, I work 10-12 hour days, five days a week. That'll often slow my writing progress and as I'm certainly not paid to do what I love, love often takes the back burner to what's necessary. I don't often travel, and am not all that up on pop culture - but I truly hope that when I write, I've captured the characters to a high quality. As none of my friends or family are into what I'm into, a beta reader isn't often available - that means I spend a long time going over each fiction carefully, editing it line by line. If I've missed something it's mainly due to familiarity with the words written and I apologize, although I do pride myself on maintaining a high quality standard and low error ratio. What I'm into? The Vampire Diaries: Yeah. I got slapped with Damon and Elena. I've gone off my rocker with my intense OTP freakiness with regards to these two. Right now I'm angry at them and I'm having fun emotionally eviscerating Damon, but they're just so juicy! Obsessed? Perhaps. Happy? Not in the slightest. Satisfied? I'm getting there! LOVE these two. They have taken over every atom in my muse's existence, and though I don't seem to be getting much of a response from the community here, I'll keep writing until I've found something else to write about. Eureka: I will always have a soft place in my heart for Jo and Zane. Where as I don't see myself going back to write for them any time soon, I do still love them and miss them and wish we had more adventures with them. Maybe if I do a series rewatch something with spark, until then... goodbye, my loves. Primeval: Ah, Connor and Abby - one of my first true loves. My muse is still inspired by them occasionally. Theirs was such a beautiful love story that literally spanned time. I'm hoping my muse will pick up with a few more stories - I just can't seem to let them go. NCIS: LA Jeez, a girl can't win for losing. I'm completely addicted to Kensi/Deeks and will allow my muse to play in their sandbox as time allows. Doctor Who will always have a spot in my heart - now, please understand I am very much 9/Rose or 10/Rose. I'll even take 11/Rose and #?/Rose, so long as however we look at it, the Doctor is with Rose. I am NOT a fan of 10.5/Rose, although I fully support the concept of a 10.5/Rose television series - just because I don't want to read about it doesn't mean I won't grovel for any form of Tennant/Piper on my television screen! Although my muse has abandoned me with regards to life in the TARDIS momentarily, I've no doubt that a rewatch of Series 1 and 2 will bring her back to life swinging. I just need the time to sit down and make it so Fair warning: My muse is completely obsessed with The Vampire Diaries - I'm completely obsessed with it. Now you may ask yourself, what could an almost forty year old woman see in a show meant for teenagers - yeah, I don't know, could have something to do with a certain dark haired, blue eyed creature of the night that is so very near my age for once I don't feel like I'm robbing the cradle by eyeing him. Point is, I've always loved characters that are just a little more than human - and boy oh boy do I love Damon Salvatore. I doubt I'll be writing any other fandom until I work through the worst of my muse's need for TVD. Everything else will take a back burner until I get Damon and Elena out of my head.
