Author has written 1 story for Fire Emblem.

BOOM Baby! I'm back, and dammit, I'm going to stay that way this time.

Profile, eh? Well, here goes.

Basic Info on the Subject of Me

Name: Alan. Gatewalker will do though, or DarkwindStriker, or just DWS. Just never call me Al. Never. I mean it.

Bio: Human Male, age 23 from all over the continental USA. Currently residing in sunny(blech) California.

Personality: Um...I hear I'm mostly a nice guy, but I can turn into a real jerk when my buttons are pushed. I do have bad case of the "hero syndrome" and can't help but try and lend a hand when I see someone down. Needless to say, this gets me into most of my trouble. I also have a bit of an arrogance problem, but I do try and keep a lid on it.

Interests: Mainly games, RPGs to be specific. Be it computer adventure "RPGs" such as Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem or other various titles, or real, paper and pencil RPGs like good ol' D&D or Mutants and Masterminds, I have a deep seated intrest in games. Also cooking, reading sci-fi and fantasy(mainly the latter) and trying to write fantasy(emphasis on trying).

I also do a whole lot of writing for a site called the RPGDL, which is essentially a giant crossover tournament thing for RPGs. It's awesome. Just tack a .com onto the end of that, and check it out yourselves.

Other Things that I like: My more-than-a-girlfriend-but-not-quite-a-wife, pulling a fast one on my players, classical music, religious or anthropological discussions, starting work on my next great idea, eating good food, and cold gloomy weather(no, I'm not goth, I just have a low heat tolerance and am light sensitive).

Things that I dislike: Being the only decent GM in my group, messing up meals, most rap, hip-hop and country music, religious fanatics, bright sunny weather, my poor spelling, and never finishing my last great idea.(Yes, I'm one of those people.)

Things I actively dispise: The current economy, making amature mistakes when I should know what I'm doing, lies and those who tell them(yes, there is a differance between storytelling and lieing. One is meant to entertain, the other to decieve).

Favorite Quotes: "Introverts are good at doing jobs, extroverts are good at getting jobs"-Athelind Stormdancer, "You don't need a reason to help people"-Zidane Tribal

Favorite Battlecries(just because): "I am the one in your nightmares!"-Zhang Fei(Kessen 2), "Move, or I'll end your miserable life!"-Zhao Yun(also Kessen 2), "Suck it down!"-Plague(Plague's Misadventures), "To LUNCH!"-Jamie and Nick(Jamie and Nick)

My Writing

Stories I am currently working on:

"Sword and Shadow"-a Fire Emblem 7 fanfic that follows the paths of my two favorite FE characters ever, Guy and Matthew, after the victory over Nergal. Chapter 7 is up! Just in case anybody's interested, I based the pairings and freindships heavily off of my supports from my last playthrough, which had Grant as the tactician. During the entire playthrough, I was giving my tactician a personallity, imagining conversations, and generally making up this story before I even knew I was going to write it. Wierd, huh?

Stories I'm getting around to working on:

"Right and Rulership"-based in the S&S continuity, this story would center around Grant as he travels to a weakened Bern with Vaida, Heath and Legault to ensure that Prince Zephiel keeps the throne, no matter who tries to take it from him. There would be a bit of Legault/Heath romance, but it's not the focus. Note: Some things may go against FE6 game canon, but I haven't finished FE6 yet, so don't hold it against me. Much like S&S, this would be a long story with many chapters and no easily forseeable ending.

"Love and Loyalty"-also based in the S&S continuity, this would be a more lighthearted story of a blossoming romance between the hesitant Erk and the shy Priscilla, with plenty of meddling from Lady Louise(and a bit from Lord Pent, too). I've never tried writing romance before, so this will likely be interesting. There will be some guest appearances by Raven, Lucius, and maybe even Serra(just to make Erk's life difficult). Grant's family may also make an eventual appearance, as he hails from Etruria.

"The Pegasus Sisters"-Not based in the S&S continuity, but on a differant playthrough. Somehow, the three lords, who have become best freinds over time, each end up marrying one of the three pegasus sisters.Set a year after the defeat of Nergal, many members of the old army get together for a renunion at Ostia, which is when everybody finds out about everbody else's relationships. Romance, confusion and laughter ensue. This would be a rather short story with 3 or 4 chapters maximum. Eliwood/Fiora, Hector/Farina and Lyn/Florina, of course.

"Second Stringers"-A crossover of crossovers. Secondary characters from a handfull of games find themselves on another adventure, but in a world they don't know. Original setting with a few original characters, but mainly focused on the game characters. Games used include Fire Emblem(7, 8 and 9), Skies of Arcadia, SaGa Frontier, Wild ARMS 2, various Final Fantasies, and various Suikodens.

Why I write: That's...a good question. I suppose it's for the same reason that I GM. I have a story in my head and it needs somewhere to go. I've come up with tons of original stuff, but I just can never get it down onto paper/screen. Maybe getting practice writing fanfics which already have a pre-built setting and cast will help me. Think of it like running a dungeon module.

Inspiration: Really, other people's writing. I read them and say, "Hey, all these other folks can do it, why can't I?" and thus I try once more. Who knows, maybe I'll succeed this time around.
