Currently, I'm sinking further into unemployment. I spend most of my time trying not to get discouraged by the fact that there are almost no high school history teaching jobs opening up in the state of California right now. And sometimes, to escape the anxiety of prolonged joblessness, I'm still writing. And I'm still hoping to finish some of the stories I started (no matter how long it's been since an update). UPDATE: September 1st, 2009 Happy September everyone! I've just added the last chapter to Heavy Hearts and only the epilogue is left. As promised, I am still planning to get back to other writing, but no promises about when that will be. I changed my name mainly because I felt like it. If you want to talk to me, which I welcome, one of my aim screen names is Hopelessly 86. I think I'll just add random facts about my self or anything really whenever I think to do so and see what happens. Randomness: My favorite Beatles song is a tie between "Come Together" and "I Want You" I can quote Wurthering Heights. It's been my favorite book since I was 15. ) The last book I read and throughly enjoyed was Where the Girls Are by Susan J. Douglas. It is one of the most enjoyable books I have ever read for a history class. And Anthony Everitt's Agustus and is pretty interesting. Oh, and The Last Duel is fantastic. I've been addicted to Days of Our Lives since I was seven (Thanks Mom!) and I even try to schedule my classes around it and if I can't I record it. I am absolutely terrified of snakes. So terrified that I once saw a snake on a short cut path on campus and I haven't used that short cut since. Though the snake was small and probably harmless, it's been over three years and I still don't plan on taking that path, even though it is faster. The Office is my absolute favorite show, though How I Met Your Mother is totally sneaking up as a very close second. A little bit about me: I'm 23. I eat, cook, sleep, and watch TV like nobody's business. I'm a photography enthusiast. I love writing and reading (obviously). I'm a ghostly shade of pale that blinds people in bright sunlight. I live in California, I just graduated from a wonderful university that I highly recommend (and that made it on to the Princeton's Review's top ten list for public universities worth their cost). I have a B.A. in history and I am currently attending a state school that, so far, seems poorly staffed, to get a single subject teaching credential so I can teach high school world history-the fun way, not the way they explain it in textbooks. Despite how weird it may make me sound, I'm a firm believer in the idea that history is a helluva lot of fun. If you've made it this far reading, I commend you.
