Author has written 36 stories for Zoey 101, School of Rock, Life With Derek, How I Met Your Mother, Degrassi, iCarly, and Glee. Update: January 3, 2013 Wow. So I haven't edited my profile in quite some time. It just kept building up for years until it was over four pages (single spaced) in length. Whoops. Anyway, I know most of you who still come here are wondering about Cheated Hearts so I'll just get right to it. I do plan on continuing. Absolutely. I would love to just write right now and get it finished for all of the wonderful people who were ever reading it, but that's not an option. And I know I've said it several times now, but I do plan to continue as soon as I can. Though, as usual, I don't know when that will be. My job woes ended finally in mid October. I got a job teaching middle school English (new for me) and I moved again (very quickly again) and just as my first year teaching last year was uber busy, this year has been as well. I've had to catch my students up to where they need to be. I have 7th grade, 8th grade, and ELD so that's three classes to prep for. The school I'm at now has a more "teachers work alone" vibe than the very helpful collaborative vibe of my last school. I literally spend 85% of my free time writing 15 pages worth of lesson plans a week, gathering materials/researching best practices, and grading papers. It's my unrealistic goal to make sure my students can write like nobody's business by the end of their year with me and that means having them write constantly and it means I'm constantly reading 160 papers. Suffice it to say, I don't have much of a life right now and on the rare occasion when I can afford to take a small break (like now, over the holidays- sort of) I sleep. I'm sleeping less than three hours a night on average so my rare free time is honestly usually spent napping. I'd like to say that when things slow down, this summer, I'll write like a banshee and get Cheated Hearts finished and hopefully more, but I'm not entirely confident that will happen. If I get to continue to work at the school I'm at now there's a good chance I'll be able to catch up on rest and start writing again, but I'm on a temporary contract so they have every possibility of simply dropping me at the end of the year. Things are looking decent to come back though. I just had an evaluation by the principal and on the form he checked the box that he'd recommend me for re-hire so keep your fingers crossed for me because, if I don't have to spend the summer stressing out while job hunting, I will definitely be writing. I can't wait to get back to it. To anyone who's still interested in reading Cheated Hearts, thank you so much for remembering it and still being interested. All of the kind messages and the all-caps pleas to write have only made my desire to continue grow and lifted my spirits in some really difficult times. I know I've disappointed all of you time and time again, and I'm truly sorry for the lack of updates on my part, but I promise that not finishing (eventually) is not an option for me.
