Hello!

Let me introduce myself: my name is Ellen, I was born on April 20 1989 (so I’m 20 now) and I live in Belgium. So that means that I normally speak, write and read Dutch. Well, I can speak and read English good enough for this, but please excuse me for my spelling/grammar/whatever mistakes.

But, to tell you that, one of my best friends, Gelke, is my beta, she corrects my mistakes. Her nickname on this site’s Evillover.

To continue about me, I’m tall, have got mid-long dark brown hair and brown-green eyes. I study 'bussiness-translator-interpreter', with Dutch, French, German, English and Spanish. My favourite language is French, I think it sounds beautiful and is very elegant. I'm quite fluent in it.

Hobby: I really swim very much, and also waterballet, the so called synchronized swimming. Lovely sport! Otherwise, my main hobby is reading fanfics and browsing through the net, searching for HP-fanart or good fanfiction.

Music: I love pop, rock, metal, gothic. My favourite groups are Within Temptation, Evanescence, Nightwish, Linkin Park, Anastacia, Sonata Arctica, l'âme imortelle... My songfics are mostly of them. I really love singing and dancing. I've recently discovered GLAMROCK, which is amazing. At the moment, not much else than David Bowie, Hedwig and the angry inch, Alice Cooper and so on, on my radio.
On the other side, you'll also find me, listening a lot to movie soundtrack and musical songs. My favourite musicals? Just say Andrew Lloyd Webber. The man is a god. You gotta love 'Cats' and 'Evita'. Sadly enough, I've so far only seen 'The Phantom of the Opera' live, but London is a bit far to go to every weekend. I made a vow to go see 'Cats' on Westend before I die. There are some non-ALW-musicals which I certainly love too, and 2 of my favourites are both french. The first is 'Roméo&Juliet - de Haine à l'amour'. Yes, that's just the plain 'Romeo and Juliet', but incredibly spectacular put on scene, I saw the Flemish version. The other is 'Le Roi Soleil', which I only saw on DVD, but I fell in love with Emmanuel Moire immediately :-). However, my all-time favourite musical is 'My Fair Lady'.

Books: I adore reading. It used to be my refuge in my youth, get away from the cruel world, and old habits die hard. Let's escape together.

Marion Z. Bradley (wonderful books, really good, pity she won’t ever write again...)
Pieter Aspe (a thrillerauthor from Belgium, very good)
Matthew Reilly (Australian, well-known for all the crazy action in his novels. If you haven't already read sth from him, go do it, I really recommend him! His best: '7 ancient wonders' ('7 deadly wonders' in the US) and the 'Scarecrow' trilogy)
Sophie Kinsella (British, INCREDIBLY funny! Go get a laugh with 'the undomestic godess', 'Can you keep a secret' and the 'Shopaholic'-series!)

Films/TV: I like horror and thriller movies, with a lot of blood and pretty creepy, if it is possible ;-). But, I’ve got two sides, I also love romantic and comedy films. “The notebook” is a wonderful film, that would be one of the best love-films I ever saw. I am also a hughe fan of French movies, they are always so good. I recommend 'Les rivières pourpres' (The Crimson Rivers) to everyone! For the TV-part, I am a hughe addict/fan of House MD. I also try to not miss my weekly updates of 'Shark' and 'Bad Girls'.

HP:
I hate you then I love you: Songfic, one-shot. It was my first songfic, I wrote it in half an hour, but I kinda like it, but not too much compared to my later work. HG/DM.
Ik leef niet meer voor jou: Dutch story about the mariage of Ron and Hermione. Songfic, one-shot. Based on a song by Marco Borsato. Dark.
Hello: One-shot, songfic. I do like this one! Based on music by Evanescence. Again: HG/DM, some character death.
Stand my ground: very dramatic one-shot, songfic. Character death, centering Hermione on the day before the final war.
Memories: After the final war, Hermione tries to go on with her life. Complete, three chaps, songfic, character death, HG/DM.
Forsaken: Songfic, one-shot. Narcissa knows what's coming, now the Dark Mark has dissappeard from her arm. She knows these are her last minutes.
Ridin' by: AU. A oneshot, based on a song, but not a songfic. It's a funny, quick and sunny fic with HG/DM friendship.
Don't make a promise: Altough it's by far my fav pairing, this is my first very own RLSB oneshot. It's sweet, I think.

D&J:
Not that easy: One-shot, just a simply D&J, actually. Story of a mission. Actually... me no likey.
My last breath: My god, I do like this one! Character death, verrry dramatic. Sort of songfic, based on Evanescence's.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans...
