Author has written 7 stories for Animal Crossing, Super Smash Brothers, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Game X-overs. Entry on Friday, October 10th, 2008 The Author to Her Book (A poem by Anne Bradstreet (1612-1672), after her book of poems, The Tenth Muse Lately Sprung Up in America, was published in England by her brother-in-law without her knowing or permission.) Thou ill-formed offspring of my feeble brain, Who after birth didst by my side remain Till snatched from hence by friends, less wise than true, Who thee abroad exposed to public view, Made thee in rags, halting to th' press to trudge, Where errors were not lessened (all may judge). At thy return my blushing was not small, My rambling brat (in print) should mother call; I cast thee by as one unfit for light, Thy visage was so irksome in my sight; Yet being mine own, at length affection would Thy blemishes amend, if so I could: I washed thy face, but more defects I saw, And rubbing off a spot, still made a flaw. I stretched thy joints to make thee even feet, Yet thou still run'st more hobbling than is meet; In better dress to trim thee was my mind, But nought save home-spun cloth in th' house I find. In this array, 'mongst vulgars mayst thou roam; In critics' hands, beware thou dost not come. And take thy way where yet thou art not known. If for thy father asked, say thou hadst none; And for thy mother--she, alas, is poor, Which caused her thus to send thee out of door. Monty the Chao, fancharacter (after reading the poem): Uhh...what up with the poem, HG? HG: I read it today as part of my literature schoolwork. What can I say? I love my literature. (big grin) ...I suppose it made no sense to you. Monty: (grins and shakes head) Nope! HG: Sigh... Jenkins: I understood it, Miss Hoverbike. I suppose you included it with this update because its subject is an author about her book. HG: Yep. That, and it actually kinda reflects how I feel about ACHR...ironic, ain't it? I mean, I just put up the revision today. Monty: Oh yeah! (Crickets chirp.) Monty: Uhh...I don't think they heard you. HG: Okay. Let's try this then. Version 2 of Animal Crossing: Heroes to the Rescue! is officially posted! Check it out if you like! HG: (turns to Monty, who is holding ears) How was that? Monty: ...Better. Jenkins: So, now that that story has been completed, what are your plans for this month, Miss Hoverbike? HG: I think I'll be working alternately on A Murderer in Our Midst and the New Story for the rest of this month. I don't know how long it will take me to completely deal with them, though. AMOM might need another revision. ...That poem could go for that one, too, come to think of it... Jenkins: And the rest? HG: I'll stick with the monthly assignment idea. If AMOM gets finished up this month, then FoodMart Frenzy gets November, and Tails and the Chocolate Factory gets December. Monty: (brightens) HG: So, until those updates, ciao! Monty: Don't you mean "chao"? HG: Wrong word, Monty. It's a homophone: same sound, different spelling. (Sorry, I'm such an English grammar nerd.) ~Hoverbike Girl Monty: Hey, can I sign my name too?! HG: ...Sure. Go ahead.
