Shout Out!

This shout out totally goes to the wonderful and /amazing/ wedelin-gisela. She's been there since nearly the beginning of my first fic on this site and has reviewed nearly every chapter of everything I've ever posted. She always takes the time to leave lengthy, analytic reviews and even leaves comments on my artwork on my DA! She's the sweetest, most adorable woman ever who always makes me giggle madly with her wonderful emails! Also, she's written some very tasty Bleach fanfics that I just adore. The first is entitled Premonition and is already complete. It's an AU mystery in which Hinamori has dreams that turn out strikingly real. In one of them, her husband, Hitsugaya, dies. The question then becomes, can she save him? So yesh, it is awesome. Her other fic is an /epic/ AU called Bond, centering around the bonds they all share. It's a high school setting featuring Hitsuhina, Ichiruki, Ginran, one-sided Renran and Ishihime on the side. It are teh awesome! I recommend to all of you. Anyway, she's a huge support, an awesome writer and an amazing person! loves her.

This second shout out has been thoroughly too long in coming and goes out to the ichiruki /master/, cricketchick1990! I discovered her through the amazing Feilyn, and uncovered some wonderful oneshots full of awesome chemistry and passionate romance. Seriously, if you like the pairing, check it out! Anyway, she's totally fun and showers me with tons of previews of her wonderful writing! She does awesomeness and loves writing and talking about teh writing... much critiquing back and forth! Basically, she's awesome! grins happily.

Yes, there is somehow, epically, a third shout out now... lol. This one goes out to my best friend who has /finally/ gotten herself an ffnet profile on which she posts stuff!! seriously, it's all epic and awesome, and i'm mentioned all the time, so everyone should check out her stuff! Alurax is her profile and she specializes in Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts and Yuyu Hakusho fics... Dunno if there'll be Bleach ones along the way, but we'll see. Anyway, I loves her dearly and she is awesome! so you all must go bug her! lol.

Fandoms

Bleach- The Bleach fandom is, of course, the whole reason I showed up here in the first place. I was spending a summer apart from my boyfriend, so I wasted much time writing a fanfic and immersing myself in this lovely place. Favorite character listing, in order: Hitsugaya, Byakuya. Um, wow. I actually don't have a list anymore. Okay, in no particular order then, Ichigo, Kenpachi, Ishida, Orihime, Matsumoto, bloody Renji (as opposed to the usual Renji, who I just find vaguely annoying). Pairings: Hitsugaya/Hinamori, Rangiku/Byakuya, Matsumoto/Gin, Shunsui/Nanao, Ichigo/Rukia, Ishida/Orihime, Ukitake/Nemu, Kenpachi/Unohana, Unohana/Ukitake. I'm pretty flexible with the rest of them. (love all around! ). Most of the fanfics I read are Hitsuhina, though some stray to other char. I do love bya/ran and nemu fics and a good shun/nanao. All in all though, this is my biggest fandom in terms of fics read and currently being written.

Twilight- Actually, around the time I picked up this site, is around the same time I discovered/read the Twilight series. I rather buried myself in that fandom also, though I've yet to write one. There aren't as many characters there and the pairings are fairly inflexible (if remaining within canon, which i tend to do (though not always)). My favorite character is definitely Jacob, though I do still like Edward and Bella. I'm certainly not for Bella/Jacob as a couple (as I would lose all respect for Bella would she had chosen him), but I do very much want the poor boy to have a happy ending. (crosses fingers for sequel or book of his own). Eventually, I /will/ write a fic for it, though for now, I'm too wrapped up in my other stories. I've actually mostly fallen out of this fandom, but I /did/ enjoy it while it lasted. There are quite a few particularly good ones.

Harry Potter- Ah, the Harry Potter fandom... (looks around nostalgically) haven't been around here in quite a while... of course, there /are/ some pretty epic fics and i realized i can enjoy various types of pairings so long as they're believable... but actually, i'm not really off looking for fics here right now... too busy writing and keeping up all the other fics i read, lol. anyway, it's probably Feilyn's fault i fell into it (as many things are, lol), starting with her fic For Truth, which immediately hooked me on the remus/sirius pairing... i kind of jumped off from there, moving on to lily/sev (that poor boy deserves some kind of happy ending) and some fun ginny fics... (and by fun i mean angsty, lol) and then i think i got distracted by... oh... probably the bleach fandom... (it's the one i keep going back to... lol). Anyway, my favorite character rather ties between harry, fred and george and neville. i pretty much covered pairings i think, so that probably covers it... (grins).

Hikaru No Go- Not incredibly big into this fandom, but I did find a few good fics. Though strangely enough I realized that all of them were AU. Ah well.

Naruto- I'm actually not into this fandom. I pretty much only read Naruto so that I would understand the fics written by Feilyn (particularly Reset: The Kushina Effect, a wonderful story). I don't go out looking for fics, I just read the ones she posts and recs to me. My favorite character is by far Gaara. He's totally awesome and thoroughly amazing. Other characters I really like include Rock Lee, Gai Sensei, Sasuke (sometimes), Itachi, Feilyn's Kakashi, Hinata and occasionally Naruto. I don't particularly have any preferred pairings (as I'm not heavily into the fandom).

Spiral- I think this one deserves a mention, though it's not very large. Much of it is based on the anime (and not the manga, which made a lot more sense) and is on the old side. As a result, there's not much to find and much of it is abandoned. However, I still managed to find a few tasty fics. This series contains my favorite female character of all time- Hiyono. She /rocks/ out loud. That's right Feilyn, more than Rangiku. lol. I also have a huge soft spot for Kanone, who comes in second. Following that are Eyes, Kousuke and Ayumu. I'm rather loose about the pairings, as they're not my reason for enjoying the series, but I'm fairly tolerant of Eyes/Kanone and Ayumu/Hiyono.

Fic Recommendations

Bleach

Dry Heat/Cold Rain/Green Blade by altersuperego-Quite possibly the /best/ Bleach fanfic out there. Seriously. Complex plot, Hitsu-whumpage, excellent grammar, structure, writing style, unpredictable, characters in character, just the right amount of angst and violence. It's amazing.

Lost and Found series by Feilyn- Holy CRACK. The most massive/epic project out there. It consists of various chaptered fics centered around particular pairings and a couple oneshots that scatter here and there. She's got a ton more info about it on her profile, but suffice it to say she's a /master/ at characterization and well worth the visit. Also, she loves reviews, so leave some as you stop by, eh?

Strictly Ballroom series by Philyra- THE place to go for extremely well-written crack pairings. Basically, it's a series of one-shots featuring various pairings (kuukaku/kenpachi to name my favorite) that are involved a famous (if invented) dance studio in Japan run by Ukitake and Shunsui. Seriously, they're all quite lengthy and very well-done. Highly recommended.

A Test of Affection/Tossed Aside/Tomorrow and After by BlackVelvetBand- For those of you who love Shun/Nanao, this woman is the /master/. Tossed Aside is the first, followed by a prequel and now a sequel. Definitely worth reading.

Endurance/Resilience/? by Bakabokken- The master of writing Hitsugaya. She writes much whumpage and though she may be slow to update, there's no question that her fight scenes are epically /awesome/. If you're a Hitsugaya fan, you /must/ read. She doesn't particularly feature pairings, but there are hints of Hitsuhina and Hitsumatsu in various places.

Sexy Captain's Curse by C. Queen- The master of Nemu fics. Though this story features multiple pairings, /my/ favorite is the uki/nemu facet. It's possibly one of the /funniest/ chapter fics out there. Featuring Matsumoto's ridiculous idea that high reiatsu reduces the sex drive, leading to the upper tier of the Seireitei going about experimenting to test whether or not it's true. Crack pairings galore. Regardless, it's /awesome/.

Blood and Ashes/Fire and Ice by Matsumama- The epic and conceivably most popular Hitsumatsu fic out there. Also followed by a sequel, entitled Fire and Ice. It actually captures the characters and makes a pairing believable that I find difficult to believe. Well-written, with much angst, I definitely enjoyed it.

Harry Potter

Life Worth Living by Lady Ahnalie- The first really lengthy HP fic I got involved (pre-Feilyn, lol), featuring Harry and a new OC. Well-written and intense, it brought the characters, esp. Harry, to life in a way the original books did not (as they were drier). It oozes angst and I /adore/ it. Unfortunately, she hasn't updated in ages, though I hope to see her return eventually.

Sacrifices Arc by Lightning on the Wave- WOW. just WOW. This /amazing/ author has actually rewritten the /entire/ HP series. Actually, i think it's longer than the original. Regardless, I almost even like it better. It's full of angst, blood, violence and pain, so beware. Also, slash pairings do show up, including Harry/Draco, so be warned ahead of time. It's quite possibly the /best/ HP fic out there. If you can stand it, that is. Highly recommended.

Casting Moonshadows by Moonsign- the most adorably fantastic Remus/Sirius fic out there. Seriously. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's the story I look forward to being updated the most. It follows the Marauders through school and stays pretty amazingly withing canon, which I love. Full of glorious angst and wonderful puppy love, I totally adore this fic.

Anything by Cobalt_Violet- The best Remus/Sirius author out there. I swear I can feel the chemistry sizzle and I'm not even in the story! For even more, check out her LJ where she's got fics on her OC characters, which are equally amazing. One day, she /will/ finish Teacher's Pet. whimpers.

That muted sort of longing by Serendipity- A brilliant Ginny-centric fic. Sadly, it appears abandoned, but honestly, it's fantastic. The angst and accuracy in interpreting her character is awesome. It's AU-ish, in that it picks up around her fifth year, as the sixth and seventh books had not yet been published. Very actiony, unpredictable and emotionally intense. Me loves.

Silent Secrets by xxxfire-feariexxx- Actually a Ginny/Draco fic post the war, but instead Voldemort has won. Ginny holds a secret that /could/ change everything, probably for the worse, but she's been captured and mute. It's wonderfully angsty (as most of these are, lol), and a bit violent. Traces of Tom/Ginny in there, but that just makes everything better. Seriously, it's well worth the read.

Hikaru No Go

The silence of the board by Luzem- My favorite AU Hikaru fic. Essentially rewrites the entire series, but with /much/ more angst. Hikaru's family has been killed and it rather changes his whole childhood, as well as how he interacts with not only Sai, but everyone else. His tragedies have made him mostly mute, with no desire to speak. Emotionally intense and quite well written.

Naruto

Reset: The Kushina Effect by Feilyn-Will eventually be a duology thing, but seriously, it's awesome. Like a lot of her chaptered fics, she /really/ ends up getting epic without meaning too. Basically, it's a what if scenario on Kushina surviving to care for Naruto and what would have been different if she had. I loves her Kushina and even more epic is her Kakashi! (drools). Anyway, seriously, go read it!

Defining Evil/Defining Duty by selandora-I never thought I'd find an Itachi/Sakura fic I'd /enjoy/ but there you go. Always someone out there to prove me wrong. But seriously, what makes this story epic to me is that she actually writes Itachi /in character/. Unexpected and frankly, thrilling. Also, it doesn't move too fast in romance (which would be unbelievable) and I love how violent and tragic it is. The sequel is still in progress and features a love triangle and an actually /likable/ Deidara, which is diff. for me, as i never really like him before. It's definitely well worth reading.

Complete Fics

Chance Encounter- A one-shot written as a birthday present for the wonderful Feilyn. Featuring Byakuya and Rangiku from Bleach, it's a nice little romance of about 3K words.

Watching Kiyone- A one-shot included as part of the Lost and Found series. It's a short reflection of Ukitake's thoughts on Kiyone, inspired by The Ring Hunt by Feilyn (the IchiRuki oneshot of L&F).

Too Late-My first ever Naruto fic of any kind!! Anyway, it's a futuristic, /possible/ sort of thing, one-shot in nature and very tragic. It centers around the main trio, starting with Sasuke, then Sakura and a twist with Naruto at the end. Essentially a songfic, but without all the annoying lyrics.

Bottle-A yummy prompt-fic courtesy of cricketchick1990, it's basically a short nemu/uki drabble. actually, i'm rather proud of how it turned out! (dances).

No Need To Run-The finally complete HitsuMatsu oneshot I set out to write ages ago. Essentially, it began as a product of me challenging me to write a pairing I have trouble believing. Though actually, I really like how it turned out! And no, I'm not bashing hitsumatsu fans, I've even found fics i /do/ like for the pairing. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.

Living and Dying-Essentially, I was kind of bored and struggling with something similar to writer's block (but not quite), so i decided to branch out and a onesentence ficlet... I'd been tossing the idea around for while, and it just kind of fit with the mood i was in. so, without further ado, fifty themed sentences of nemu/uki goodness~!

Current Fics

Waking Up- My epic Bleach fic, centering around Hitsugaya and Hinamori. It picks up right where the Soul Society Arc left off and begins with Hinamori regaining consciousness. It's a mystery, romance, and action all rolled into one. Currently eleven chapters. I'm trying to work on creating an outline for a story to ensure that I don't leave out details and that the plot is coherent and consistent as it is epically long and complex. The premise is, essentially, that Aizen as more up his sleeve and that the two of them are his primary targets (though they don't precisely know that yet). This fic is in the temporarily ignored section whilst I work on the outline for it... also, I'm attempting to actually /finish/ a fic (Utter Chaos, in this case), so my focus is on it and not this one. Don't worry though, I /am/ coming back to it.

Utter Chaos- Another Bleach fic, also featuring Hitsuhina. It's very confusing, especially at first, as the scenes constantly jump around with little explanation. Gradually, coherence shall evolve and develop, tying all the threads together. It's difficult to summarize because of the way it skips around and I don't want to reveal anything and ruin the mystery of it all. There is much Hitsuwhumping and much mystery. Some violence and a definitely dark plot. There shall, however, be a happy ending. You know, somewhere down the road.

The Stage: Byakuya Style- Part of Feilyn's The Lost and Found series also. This story is meant to parallel her story The Stage, which is Byakuya/Rangiku from Rangiku's first-person POV. This story, as the name implies, is essentially the same, though from Byakuya's first-person POV. Reading the original is not required to understand it, but heck, do it anyway. It's freaking awesome and should be read. Plus, lots of little details correlate that wouldn't be picked up on without having read it.

Cold Warmth- Not actually a story, since you mentioned it. It's a series of one-shots for the 30kisses community on LJ. The pairing in question is Nemu/Ukitake, which you might have guessed that I picked up from C. Queen. I really love that pairing, so it ended up as the one I chose. The first one is up, but I'm struggling a bit with the second one. I've got it partially done, I just have to figure out how to wrap it up. I used List Theta (instinct), if you're interested.

Blood & Secrets- ABANDONED!! There are several reasons for this, most of them revolving around me suddenly almost no time for fanfiction and the others focusing on my no longer being really into the HP fandom anymore... This thing will just be too long and take more effort to really make it good and I want to work on my other fics and actually start some new stuff... that heck, wouldn't be bleach! XD anyway, I won't pull it off right away... in about a month I'll just delete the story.My Harry Potter story, which is also epic. It follows the four Marauders mainly as they go through Hogwarts, though also Lily and Severus. It begins as mainly canon, except that Remus is a girl. Remus/Sirius pairing eventually and will likely just go on forever. Eventually, the goal is that they'll graduate Hogwarts and the sequel will deal with the years following that. It veers off canon hugely around the summer between fifth and sixth year b/c of Peter's change of heart. (never mind, it'll be explained when the story gets there.) Also important to note is that I'm merging it with Feilyn's For Truth (which is tasty and should be read), so much of sixth year will reflect that (thought there will be differences).

Shattering the Soul- This is my neglected fic. It's only two pages right now. I posted it because I'm quite proud of how the writing came out, but actually, it's of a severely low priority and likely will not be updated for quite some time. It's a Yuu Yuu Hakusho fic featuring an original character created by a friend of mine. I center it around his childhood so none of the actual characters from the show are on it. Well, Kurama will show up near the end (as he's Kurama's older brother), but other than that, none of the others are in it. So it's almost an original work.

Eventual Fics

Broken Series- Okay, somewhere along the road, not entirely sure where, this thing became epic. It started as random emoness, not centered around anyone or anything in particular, and turned into matsumoto... then a matsumoto oneshot, exploring a darker take on the relationship between her and gin... then it wanted to turn into a story of her life (or death, depending on how you look at it... lol) and moving on from gin... then it wanted to be ran/bya... then it wanted to be ran/hitsu... /now/ it has an actual /plot/. it's become a /SERIES/ like Feilyn's... whines. There are currently three stories in this series (none of them written, i know, hush), the first one being Matsumoto-centric. The second will be Hitsugaya-centric and the third will be Ichigo-centric. Pairings all around, but i'm not telling whose til we get there.

Juvenile Orion fic- This will basically be the whole Juvenile Orion story in book format. 25 chapters long, as per the graphic novels and third person switching pov. It's been started, which tells me that the chapters will be horribly long. Updates will therefore be infrequent, whenever it gets posted.

Various Drabble prompt fics-erm, in case of writer's block or muse problems, i go to Feilyn and cricketchick1990 for short prompt drabble ideas, so I've got a couple of those in the works now... yum.

Various Other fics-I'm working on a variety of things that I may or may not post depending on how much I like them or how much they work or even if I have time for them. Length is a factor. So, though I have many ideas, there may or may not be some of these.
