Author has written 48 stories for Twilight, Hikaru no Go, Naruto, Harry Potter, Death Note, Eyeshield 21, Merlin, How to Train Your Dragon, and Misc. Movies. ABOUT ME: My name is Reiko Katsura, I'm 19 y/o, female, and an avid fan fiction reader. I read fic for various fandoms, though my main fandoms are Harry Potter, Merlin, Supernatural, Hikaru No Go, and Naruto. I ship mostly slash pairings with a few het ones thrown in there. I'm also fond of non-pairing fics (gen). I tend to write more slash than anything, so that's what you'll mainly find on this account. Don't hate, okay? Aside from reading fan fiction I also read a lot of books, mainly of the fantasy, general fiction, and non-fiction (writing, empowerment, art, psychology, health, etc.,) variety. I like playing video games (mainly RPGs), watching anime, and reading manga. I have peculiar tastes in music and have a bit of an obsession with making mix CDs. I'm also a bit of an artist, and spend quite a lot of time drawing and painting traditionally and digitally (especially the latter). Even after three years of writing, I still consider myself to be a complete amateur. I have much to learn about the craft, and very much look forward to becoming a better writer. I'm Reikokatsura MISCELLANEOUS: I recently compiled a rather large compilation of H/D Rec/Fic Lists, Communities, Searches, and Misc. It's here: Harry/Draco Goodie-Bag. My Delicious is pretty extensive as far as Merlin/Arthur and Hikago fics go. There are a few HP and Other-Fandom fics (and resources) in there, but not too many. I've been slowly adding to it, though. As of August 2011, there are 750 links. The wonderful Euphy made a French translation of my fic "Likewise". It can be read Here. She also began translating my fic "The Interrogator" into French. The first chapter can be read Here. ABOUT OLDER FIC: Please keep in mind that the older the fic the more poorly written it will be. My writing style has changed a lot over the years. Please don't expect something written in '09 to be of high quality, because it won't be. That said, I have been steadily going through my older fics and have been editing them the best I can. By the end of the summer, hopefully at least half of my older fic will be more presentable, and definitely a lot more easier on the eyes. MY HARRY POTTER FICS: I mainly write Harry/Draco and Harry/Snape, though I often delve into other pairings, usually in the form of ficlets and drabbles. The following fics will not be continued: Expecting; Hogwarts, An Orphanage; Driving Lessons; and I Hate You, Truly I Do (?). I'm really sorry, but they're very old, and my writing style has changed so much that it'd take me re-writing them all (which I don't have time for) to make them even the slightest bit tolerable. The following fics are in the process of being revised: Remember Me; Greenland Ranch; The Interrogator; Coming Out; and Forget Me Not. No, they won't be taken down. I'm simply replacing the chapters, as I have done for several fics already. MY TWILIGHT FICS: These babies are old. They're my first attempts at writing, and it really shows. I wrote these back when I still liked Twilight. I honestly can't stand the series now (I still read some Twific, but only the ones that are so AU that you can't even recognize the characters-- Bella and Edward especially). So yes, please consider all my Twific abandoned. I'll be removing them sometime soon. They're really very bad, so I wouldn't even bother looking into them. MY ANIME FICS: Woo, boy. Ok. Aside from "Devil's Snare", which I've actually been working on this past summer, none of my animanga fic will be updated. I'm really sorry about this, but that includes "Mentally In Love". Honestly, I don't even know where I was going with that thing. Heck, I don't even know what I was doing. It's tragically OOC and cliche and badly written and juvenile... I could go on, really. So yeah. Really sorry. I tried to revise it once- got a beta reader and everything- but it was so bad that the both of us gave up on it. GENERAL FAN FICTION BUSINESS: :What I Hate: 1) When authors do not write the main pairings of the fic at the very beginning. Do Not Do That. If you're unsure about them, then have the courtesy of mentioning possible pairings, and whether your fic will be het, slash, or gen. It's only courteous. 2) When authors don't write summaries, or write things like "A story about love". There are so many people who find it very hard to read things when they don't know what it's about (I have the same issue with regular novels, tv-shows, and movies). The purpose of a summary is to tell us a bit of what the story is about. It's to endear us to the story. If you're not good at summaries, then ask someone to write it for you. 3) Inserting comments mid-fic. Oh my gosh, I can't believe people actually do that. That's just insane. 4) Withholding chapters until you receieve a certain number of reviews. Ironically, that makes me not want to review. It's just-- well, to be frank, it's a cruddy thing to do. Ask and you shall receive; demand and you shall not. 5) It's a bit of a (petty) peeve of mine, but I find answering all your reviews in the body of your story to be very annoying. 6) You should not be writing fan fic if you aren't even capable of spelling the character's names right, sorry to say. 7) Authors who throw fits because their work was privately reproduced are irritating. Um. Duh. Of course readers are going to want to save your fic to ensure they have it for keeps.The same way people buy the books they like, people save the fics they like. It's no different. Not only did you choose to upload your fic to the internet-- a global network-- but you did it so people can enjoy it, no? Well guess what? They did. And they enjoyed it so much they saved it to their hard drive. You can't have the cake and eat it, too. Reviews in Fan Fiction: As a writer, of course I look forward to receiving reviews. It's wonderful knowing that my effort is appreciated, and that somewhere out in the world someone liked what I wrote. It doesn't matter how old the story is-- I still love receiving comments. In turn, I pretty much review almost everything I read. It's only considerate. Now, as for replying... I admit that I don't reply as often as I should -looks sheepish- I'm seriously working on that, though. Do know that even if I don't respond to your review, I still read it and it still means a lot to me. Constructive Criticism: I cannot stress how important con-crit is to me. If you have an issue with my writing, tell me. If you know of a way I can improve, tell me. If you think my grammar is weak, or my prose is inconsistent, or my punctuation is erroneous, or my dialogue is unrealistic, then tell me. I want to know. Be as specific as you want. I only ask that you do so in an amiable manner and refrain from outright insulting me. If you can handle that, then I welcome all of you to leave as much con-crit as you want. Top/Bottom, Seme/Uke: This right here is my largest fandom pet peeve. I won't rant, like I so want to do, but I feel I must tell everyone right now that it means nothing to me. My characters all switch. I don't like creating feminine male characters, nor limiting my characters to a single sexual position or stereotype. People in general are often versatile, and I won't have my characters any other way. Please don’t ask me if one fic has bottom!Draco or Harry because I won’t answer you.
