Author has written 4 stories for Harry Potter. "As a writer, you get to play, you get to alter time, you get to come up with the smart lines and the clever comebacks you wish you'd thought of." -- Iain Banks Right. So. While it was pretty easy to determine my gender under my previous pen name, I suppose it's more difficult now so, FYI, I am of the female persuasion. I live on an island in the United States and have just recently graduated from high school. I am far too obsessed with Harry Potter, as any member of my family will readily tell you, and I can't really picture myself ever outgrowing it unless some sort of Harry Potter rehab is ever created. Jesus Christ is the pivotal point of my life. I love Kenneth Branagh, Jason Isaacs, and Jeremy Irons. I want very much to go to England. Sweet and Spicy Chili Doritos chips are my horrible, guilty addiction. I wish I could play Quidditch. I have absolutely no idea why, but Farewell Aragog by Nicholas Hooper from the HP6 soundtrack makes me the feel the most powerful nostalgia I've ever experienced. I possess a deep passion for the underdeveloped and the eccentric. Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw, apparently July 2010. For anyone who still cares, I'm making quite a bit of headway with Green Eyed Tears, which, by the way, will probably go through a title change in the near future. The current title reeks of my early-teen-year melodramatic tendencies. All that aside, I'm afraid the frightening truth is that this pathological and slightly disturbing need of mine to anchor my life in all things Harry Potter manifested itself in the giddy urge to update on Harry's birthday, just so that my profile would read 07-31-10 for a while to come. Oh, and I also made a cake. For a fictional character. I suspect I should be psychologically analyzed. I'm horribly sorry about the lack of story updates, but real life is really getting to me these days, along with tiresome plot complications. I'll try my best to speed things up. The Fics: WARNING: If you've found yourself on my profile through an avenue other than reading Smile Like You Mean It or Green Eyed Tears, I would highly recommend not reading those particular fics as of this moment. They were last updated when I was fourteen, and I'm in the process of revamping them. Seriously, the horribly pathetic writing might be damaging to your retinas and/or psychological equilibrium. Welcome To My Life is equally as terrible, in my opinion, but I suppose that little one-shot will be allowed to stay as a testament to how writing improves over time, with a lot of practice. As I delve deeper into some of the agonizingly brilliant stories on this site, I find my writing style wanting to morph of its own accord. Impossible creature. Thus far, it's been obscenely fond of Celebony, opalish, and Dzeytoun. What is that, I wonder? Dzelepalish? Huh. 'S got a nice ring to it, no? Most of my fics will be Harry-centric and many of them will have a lot to do with the theme of child abuse, I think. There are several reasons for this, 1) I hate how it wasn't addressed in the books (seriously, Harry has to have some emotional scarring from even the little bits of abuse we glimpsed), 2) it's a great source of angst and provides for a good story and 3) there are a million different ways to write a Harry-abuse fic. And if you happen to be like me and are a sick and twisted fan of seeing Harry suffer, check out my C2 community. I haven't read some of the stories, though, so I'm not sure how well-written those will be. There are definitely some extremely good ones. Subscribe if you want, and if you yourself have come across any good ones, inform me immediately, won't you? Do not put statements in the negative form. ~William Safire, "Great Rules of Writing" | |||||||
