About my fanfiction on the site...

Importante Noticia - I have learned to prioritize, people.

Here is my Big-time line-up:

NUMBAH 1: Phantasms

Why? I shall focus on, and put most effort into Phantasms because...well...really, I did so much research for that story it was ridiculous. I mean, cultural accuracy, anyone? So, I love it. I think it is my crowning achievement.

NUMBAH 1.5: Nine Soldiers of Sound

Why? I actually did almost as much research on this as I did Phantasms. And I love the plot. And my set-up. I tried making it Supernatural/Sci-Fi/Cyberpunk/Drama/Action(which comes later). So yeah. My first attempt at the government being corrupt...my second attempt at a drama where multiple things happening at once are crucial to the plot.

NUMBAH 2: Nephilim: The Calling

Why? It's different.

NUMBAH 3: Stray Dogs

What? Yes, it's not even up yet. I know. Still got a few kinks to work out.

NUMBAH 4: Ambivalence in Ambiguity

Why? The others are so damned time consuming...

Also, I sort of have too many projects going on at once so, on the side, I will be trying out a few one-shots to hone my skillage and get them out of the way. Then we'll see if I can definitely update soon. But I will finish these stories if it kills me. I just won't rush it. It turns out bad if I rush it.

I try to do introspective one-shots; just the things that could happen in the story, but don't or didn't. The one-shots are me thinking "How could I immerse myself into the character? How can I understand the character better? Let's explore our limits here." Pero, I will only ever write alternate universe for the long stories. I don't know why, but it bugs me to try to write within the parameters of a story that I'm too far into or have already finished reading, like Inuyasha or Naruto or BLEACH or Togari or Ranma 1/2. Then I see no reason to change what I already find satisfactory. The alternate universe stuff is just me thinking "what would happen if...?"

But isn't it always?

I'm a canon writer usually...but sometimes I mess with the personalities. I only try to bend them a little. And I use Japanese romanization because there isn't really a translation for such things -for example "youkai". I mean youkai means "haunts" and "apparitions" and "phantasms". They take the role in mythology as "faery". Not "devil" because those are fallen angels in Christianity. And did you know that the Japanese have different (like a bunch of different) classifications of "ghost"? And "spirit". And "soul". They are two different things. I use the Japanese terms in order to explain something really long-winded - like saying "bourei" instead of "a ghost that is the spirit of something that had a (violent?)death at sea(?)", but "yuurei", "ayakashi", and "obake" are also words for "ghost". It's the same as using "multitude" instead of "the quality of being numerous; a great gathering or throng; the common people or masses".

By the way, this is a really good link to the degeneration of story-telling out there, it doesn't just apply to Yaoicrackfiction, it is applicable to anything. I merely thought people should be aware of this ...problem through this link and a good point being made. Just copy and paste if you wanna go see what I'm talking about:

Personal Info:

Gender: I am a girl because I have all the parts.

Age: Somewhere around fifteen (I think) years old (round up or down; I stopped counting after my second year in high school)

Looks: I am a mixed blood. Half Guatemalan, half black. Don't know what kind of black, but I'm definitely banking on Caribbean blood. I'm somewhere around 5'6" or something taller.

Hobbies/Skillage/Talents: ...I love reading. So I am a reader. I am a poet first and foremost. Eighth, I am a dancer. I krump. I am an artist, mostly doing sketches and working with charcoal and chalk pastels. I like oils paints. I have various interests because too many things interest me (when I was four I decided that I was going to know everything in the world, even if it killed me). I studied a bit (just a bit) of demonology and faerie lore and mythology and theology and etymology and the arts and philosophy (The Nietzsche quote clue anyone in?), different languages are fun(!!) and useful...cultural anthropology too...

Secondly, I am a writer(call me Captain Obvious, ladies and gentlemen). I like writing. I like all types of writing. I found that out about myself just recently. As long as whatever I am reading or writing mixes up some elements. I like to grind and blend my genres like a smoothie. Switch things up a little.

As a writer I am inclined to better myself, yet I cannot do so if I do not receive feedback on what is wrong in my fan-fiction. Do not be a stranger to criticism. Criticism is your friend. Remember that. And I am immune to Flames (Ho ho ho ho ho! Think'st thou canst char mine hide?) because I just get pissed and start cussing people out. You'd be doing the writers a disservice if you don't tell them what is inaccurate and misspelled and if the plot is all over the place... But it's also good to tell the writer what makes the story great and what needs to be kept...ehh, whatever.

Now, do not get me wrong, I'm not DEMANDing reviews. Not at all. I am stressing the importance of peer editing. 'Cuz I got nooo beta readers...(Fiddlesticks...!). It's just helpful to tell me -to tell anybody really- what mistakes I have made...spelling, grammar, anything I have missed or any information I might have gotten wrong. I try to put effort into stories because I'm not gonna go in without being properly equipped for it- I write religiously and, with me, grammar mistakes that I make put me into a sort of panic...sort of. Okay, actually, I flip shit and go off, frantically searching for a nearby computer so that I can correct my errors...

I do like anime But, now, I am like X-tremely super-elitist about my anime. I have standards, oddly enough. (It's good sometimes, but lately it seems to be getting harder to find anything that appeals to me or seems excellent.) but not as much as I love books or manga or manhwa. I like... Blade of the Immortal, Baccano!, Samurai Champloo, Gundam Wing, Toradora!, Vandread, Demon Lord Dante, Devilman, Amon, YuYu Hakusho, xxxHOLiC, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Hayate the Combat Butler, Ouran High School Host Club, Peach Girl, Gantz, Red Garden, Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, Claymore, Elfen Lied, Gokusen, GTO, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei!, Gundam Wing, Ergo Proxy, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Persona~trinity soul~, Nodame Cantabile and many others are among favorites.

(These shows and graphic novels and novels and books are my influences. And that's basically the only reason why I am telling you readers all of this. So you know how this all came about... I mean, you could otherwise care less, right?)

Favorite characters (I'm warning you because I might use them in settings or make 'em act in a way that you might not agree with...this does not mean crackfiction): Nougami Neuro, Jio Freed, Mugen, Naraku (oh, he is so bad-ass, you know it, he is the most villainous evil antagonist out there), Yamanaka Ino, Sabaku no Gaara, Itoshiki Nozomu("I'm in DESPAAAAAIIIIR!!"), Taishou no Sesshoumaru, Sesshoumaru's Mom(cool as shit, that one, and hilarious too), Uzumaki Naruto (yessuh, the eighth tail is too awesome for words...), Natsu Dragoneel, Erza Scarlet, Aisaka "Palmtop Tiger" Taiga, Kyuubi no Youko(YEAH! He DOMINATES, ANNHILIATES!), Kurosaki Ichigo/Hichigo, Hyuuga Neji, Kuchiki Rukia, Tobei, Noda "Nodame" Megumi, Chiaki, Kuchiki Byakuga, Sai, Saotome Ranma, Daniel Fenton, Jack Fenton, Jazz Fenton, Ember McClain, Samantha Manson, the box ghost ("...BEWARE!"), Zaraki Kenpachi, Hyuuga Hinata (Anyone every noticed that her teammate Aburame Shino looks like a drug dealer or a DJ?), Ulquiorra Cifer ("I will show you...the true meaning...of despair."), Kurosaki Karin, Kurosaki Isshin, Tokei Hibiki (Mr. Alien!), Ryuk, Yagami Light (Light is so dastardly...), Higurashi Kagome...

RANT: Why does everyone hate Kagome? I don't get it! In the manga she's pretty cool. In fact, it's sort of unnatural how cool-headed she is. Seriously? She's only in her last year of junior high school. That means she is a ninth grader. Her family is actually normal. They are typical, and kind. Kagome is not a troubled kid in any way. Her family supports her every step of the way. She has a happy life, there in Japan. The TV series in English portrays her as a twit, I know, but still...would YOU have survived in feudal era Japan (constantly being attacked by youkai that aren't supposed exist, failing all of your classes, you only get to see your family once in a millenia, you're in love with a person who's only half human themselves -but you see past the youkai part of your true love immediately- and who isn't over the death of their walking-dead/dead/undead/living-dead/animated/clay-construct ex-lover and who is almost always getting killed, and your one time love's soulless ex -which, by the way, you're supposedly a reincarnation of- keeps trying to kill you just because, and your lover -who keeps cheating on you with a dead girl!!can we say...necrophilia?!- is having some fucked up issues with their family - Yeah, umm, brotherly murder attempts=sibling rivalry and childish horseplay...? Can we say dysfunctional?! Anyone? Anyone? No...? - and trying to cope with diseases and plagues and all manner of nastiness while you trek through lands exhausted and your body isn't used to such stress) without some normalcy to help you survive?! No! Lay off would you, Kagome-haters?! She is only a character. She's pretty reasonable, and relatively sane for someone who goes through that shit every day and still loves her frickin' boyfriend. And stays with him. She stays with him! That is a miracle, ladies and gentlemen. A friggin' miracle! Of course she would go off to her time and eat at Mickey D's and do homework/want to finish out junior high so she can be a successful high school student with have a great future and chat about boys in the manga and anime - she is only fifteen years old! It makes sense! Ugh! She's not shallow, she's normal. And don't hate Kikyou, she's what we call "a tragic hero". It's her dead/undead/clay/animated-statue/corpse character that people hate. That isn't the real Kikyou. It's a shadow, a disgusting dark piece of what she had been. And don't hate Naraku, he's the victim of the human heart which we are all cursed with...unrequited love...it's a curse, I tell you, a torment. ...If you want someone to hate, hate the author, she's responsible for her characters' personalities and stories. (Personally, I think Takahashi Rumiko is a comedic genius. Somewhat.)

Moving on! Music is my inspiration and my blood. I love (all) Metal and (some, mostly hard or core) Rock and Alternative and Punk and Indie and Grunge and Grindcore and Deathcore and Powerpop and Classical and Techno and Post-Hardcore and Bluegrass...but that's it...

Mainly these bands and artists will be setting the mood for my stories: Mayday Parade, PlayRadioPlay!, Dir en Grey, D'Espairs Ray, Angelo, Girugamesh, Seether, Cute Is What We Aim For, Forever the Sickest Kids, Maximum the Hormone, Cannibal Corpse, FiveFingerDeathPunch, Blood Stain Child, BUCK TICK, Utada Hikaru, Rie Fu, High and Mighty Color, Saliva, As I Lay Dying, abingdon boys school (somewhat), Van Atta High, The Birthday Massacre, KoRn, We Butter The Bread With Butter, Eyes Set to Kill (HOLYFRICKTHEYAREAMAZING!), Born of Osiris, Flyleaf, Soundgarden, Audioslave, the Misfits, Four Letter Lie, KiTTiE, Escape the Fate (before Ronnie Radke left for rehab), Suicide Ali, Kanon Wakeshima, Kerli, Alice in Chains and Hole.

Friends know me as Lucifer(Lulu or Luci on Fridays: a bad joke and online quiz results along with similar hairstyles at three in the morning on New Years my freshman year began it all)...or the Jaguar (my temper gets the best of me, really) ...or Dark Liege (Satan/Lulu/NORA: The Last Chronicles of Devildom reference)...or Mita...or AfroThunder (I blame unruly hair and potheads' with their half-baked ideas)...or Mika (I blame Darren Shan).

Rant: And just 'cuz of the "Satan" thing it does NOT mean that I worship Lucifer or that I am satanist or anything of the sort. Jesus tap-dancing Christ! I mean, seriously? Seriously? Seriously?! People and their unwillingness to look outside the realm of the norm, I swear... I actually find some satanists a refreshing change in perspective. Some. Eh, what can I say? I mean, my best friends/boyfriend, who I adore,is a nihilist that hates everyone and everything (I am not exaggerating this time- you do not know the meaning of "hatred" and "angst" until you've met him) and one of my other best friends' (soul-twin's) nickname is "Sunshine" due to her motherly, loving, bright, cookie-making disposition, and her name...and her name's mythological association with the dawn...

Ugh, I'm rambling. I always ramble. Stop me if I do.
