| AmayaSora |
Author has written 22 stories for Fruits Basket, Harvest Moon, Inheritance Cycle, House, M.D., and Fairy Tales. Hello!! My penname is AmayaSora, which, for those interested in that kind of thing, means "night rain sky" in Japanese. I, however, am not Japanese, only a typical American teenaged girl... well, not entirely "typical," but for this purpose that description works. This is all that I will say about myself, because you probably only came here for more stories. If you're curious, visit my webpage to find out all about the girl who calls herself AmayaSora. I will, however, tell you a little about how I write, so hopefully you'll understand my writing a bit better. My muse is... hard to explain. It will throw out an idea about what it wants, when it wants. There's no forcing or controlling it, really. Once it gives me the idea I can alter it for my own purpose, but I find it really hard to think of ideas consciously. They all come from my subconscious mind. An idea will pop into my head, and it'll need to be written down right now, urgently. For example, I wrote this profile by flashlight on a spare sheet of paper sitting up in bed at 10:30 on a school night. Yep, my ideas have extremely random timing. An idea could come at any moment, so I'm always armed with a pen (I hate pencils) and paper for the next big hit. Those "big hits" are why I write. I love the idea that these creations are things only I can make, just me. Even if I've done something before (or someone else has and I don't know it) it will still be a little different and a lot special. Another reason is the joy I get reading these things and feeling myself melting into the story, becoming a character. And then I think, Wow! I made this happen! The unpredictability of when my next idea will strike is an added bonus. Writing allows me to escape my own life, too. If I've had a horrible day/week/month I can sit down and write and live someone else's life for a change. It's my therapy. Finally, since I want to be a professional writer for my career, I soak up all the practice I can get. Here are some things about me as a writer you should note: 1) I'm a HUGE perfectionist! Nothing I write is ever good enough, so I'm constantly editing and replacing chapters/stories. Also, as soon as I read a review with corrections or reccommendations I make them, literally the next minute. 2) As mentioned, my muse is really sporadic, so don't panic if you don't see anything new for a while. Eventually I will get an idea (and usually several in quick succession). Also, if some sections of writing seem really forced that's because they are. My muse probably abandoned me in the middle of it and I had to muddle through on my own, which is never as good as when it just comes. 3) I can't spell, as you may have noticed if I misspelled anything previously. I'm sorry, I really do try. 4) I also can't come up with titles to save my soul, as you'll instantly realize when you look at them. 5) I'm fond of author's notes, but only at the beginning and/or end of a story; I never interrupt it in the middle. If this annoys or bothers you, please skip them. They don't really say anything critically important, anyway. 6) I live off of reviews. Seriously, I don't write without them. If I've gone without reviews for too long I go through and revamp all my work, whether it's necessary or not (and then I usually end up begging for reviews, which I actually hate doing). Also, reviews lead to updates or new ideas because I get happy and (slightly more) confident, and new ideas appear. (hint, hint ;) ) Pairings I Enjoy House, M.D.: HouseXWilson, ChaseXCameron Fruits Basket: KyoXTohru, HiroXKisa, ArisaXKureno, occasional YukiXTohru Eragon: EragonXSaphira, EragonXArya, AryaXFaolin would be cool For those of you who like these and want to read more (and different) writings, you can check out my LiveJournal by clicking here. If you only had time to read one fanfic, it would have to be Blue. Or, if you don't have that much time, try Soft, chapter 5 in Let Me Tell You 'Bout My Best Friend. | |||||||||||
