January 26, 2010: I was not expecting it, considering I only discovered Leverage about a week ago, but I have committed fic! I don't know if any of my previous readers are Leverage fans, but if y'all are, please give "Four Times Parker Dreamed About Having a Family" a try, and let me know what you think.

My fandom orientation has changed quite a bit. Currently I'm pretty well immersed mainly in Supernatural, and I've signed up for the spn_j2_bigbang on LJ - 20,000 words of fic due by May! -- so hopefully I'll be able to focus on that for a while. Sadly, "Be Who We Are" and "One Whole Star" are not currently priorities for me. I love those fics a lot, and I've still got my notebooks full of scribbles, but they won't be happening for a while. A bit about me...

I've been a Buffy fan since 1999, which is also when I first started reading and writing fanfiction. Dude. I've been doing this for ten years. That's a little scary. I got into Harry Potter before it was a world-wide craze... and I read Chamber of Secrets first. I blame my little High School Musical problem on my friend Kim. It's all her fault, but there's nothing we can do about it now.

Back in the day, FFN had a limited number of stories a person could add to her Favorites list, which is why I started a C2, "Suitcase Full of Dreams", which is still where I put all the stories I like -- except any crossovers I read, which go to the (now-unlimited) Faves list. Sorry if that's confusing.

I read primarily Supernatural fic nowadays (Sam/Dean, J2 RPS, J3 RPS, gen), but depending on my mood I also read Leverage (Parker/Alec/Eliot and any combinations therein, gen), Harry Potter (more info below), High School Musical (Troy/Gabriella, various slash and femslash), Buffy and Angel (anything Willow-centric, various het, gen), Gundam Wing (1x2, 2x5, various slash), Smallville (Clark/Lex), Star Trek XI (Kirk/Spock/Uhura and any combinations therein, Kirk/McCoy, gen). More rarely I'll read Dark Angel (Max/Alec, gen), Bones (Booth/Bones, Angela/Hodgins, gen), the new Doctor Who (The Doctor/Rose, gen), Firefly (Mal/River, various het and slash, gen), Hairspray 2007 (Tracy/Link, various het, gen).

My preferences when it comes to Harry Potter: I'm a fan of many different degrees of Abused!Harry fics (at least I'm honest about it), Snape-mentors-Harry fics, what-if-Sirius-had-found-Harry-before-PoA fics, any fic in which Harry finds people who love him, fics with interesting plots, slash, decent crossovers (I have found a spare few: the Matrix, Buffy, and Firefly), Evil!Dumbledore fics, Wonderful!Dumbledore fics, people realizing that yes Hermione does know everything, Severitus Challenge answers (it sounds like a disease and watch out, it's contagious), realistic coming-out-of-the-closet fics, far-fetched storylines that start becoming plausible because the fics are SO BLOODY LONG, sex, inventive magic, and wow this list is long, I'll probably be adding to it. As far as shipping goes, I'll read almost anything provided it's Harry-centric. No particular preference when it comes to het vs. slash. Personal favorites include HP/SS, HP/HG, HP/GiW, HP/FW/GeW, HP/DM, HP/RL, HP/NL, HP/NT... If I keep going I'll list everything.

What I will (almost) never read in any fandom: MPreg. Crossdressing fics. Very very dark fics (i.e., those that center around a character death, or those in which Voldemort wins and all the good guys resign themselves to a horrific existence as sex slaves for the Dark Lord and his Death Eaters -- or the equivalent in any other fandom). Drabbles and/or very very short fics (I personally believe that single chapters should always be between 3,000 words and 10,000 words each. I must continually make an exception for this rule when reading HSM fic, which drives me nuts -- what's with all these 300-word chapters, people?). Songfics -- if your story is more somebody else's lyric than your own prose, we have a problem.

I'm sure there's more, but I'm getting boring, so I'll stop.
