Um... hi? (waves at everyone)

Real name: Emma.

Age: 18

Location: the suberbs of LA

AIM: elphabareborn YIM: emthejedichic

LJ: emthejedichic

MySpace: myspace.com/emmastecheson

I've been blogging every now and then; the blogs are posted on my Myspace and LJ.

Check out my original work on fictionpress! I have the same s/n over there.

I've been thinking it might be a good idea to change my penname. I don't WANT to do it, but I get this nagging feeling that people are passing over my fics because they look at my penname and think I'm some emo, thirteen-year-old cutter. I'm not. I got this account when I WAS an emo, thirteen-year-old cutter, but my s/n is ACTUALLY a Phantom of the Opera reference (and the crappy, crappy PotO fics I wrote as an emo, thirteen-year-old cutter are down at the bottom of the list there, me having kept them on the site for posterity's sake).

Y'all remember the bit in the musical during Down Once More when Christine kisses Erik? After that he tells her & Raoul: "Go, take the boat, swear to me never to tell. Forget what you know of the angel in hell!" I tried to be TheAngelInHell and a couple other similar pennames, but they were taken. So I became an-angel-in-hell, because it was as close as I could get.

So, to set the record straight: I'm NOT an emo, thirteen-year-old cutter; I'm an EX-emo, thirteen-year-old cutter. More specifically, I'm an eighteen-year-old high school senior with mental health issues. But hey, a lot of the greatest artists were/are mentally ill, right? Right? (looks manically hopeful)

Active Story Stats

(AKA: Will she ever finish that one story?)

Updated 4/6

The Will of the Force- Chapter 3's up, Chapter 4 coming soon.

The Lords of Gondor- A second installment has been added. I started to write two more bits, but haven't been working on them lately.

Unclear-There will be a part three. I got TSFT as soon as it came out and read it, but by now I've forgotten a lot. In order to write the third installment I'd have to re-read the novel, which I frankly don't have time to do right now. But part three IS coming... down the road... somewhere...

Not familiar with the background info for my fic, The Will of the Force? Everything you need to know is here.

I don't usually go for those cut 'n' paste into your profile things... I find they just clutter things up. But I'm more than happy to make an exception for this one. Please read it- I hope you'll find it thought-provoking.

I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.
I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.
I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.
We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.
I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.
I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.
I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.
I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.
We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.
I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.
I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.
I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.
I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.
I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.
I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.
I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.
I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I did not have to always deal with society hating me.
I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.
I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.
I am the person who is afraid of telling his loving Christian parents he loves another male.

Re-post this if you believe homophobia is wrong. Please do your part to end it.

"Writing is easy. All you have to do is stare at a blank piece of paper until your forehead bleeds." -Douglas Adams

"I love deadlines. I love the whoosing noise they make as they go by." -Douglas Adams

"All I can really say about writing is that I do what I do the way that I do it which is, truthfully, insane and chaotic a lot of the time. What I do have is a desire to tell a story because something deep within it is calling me on and I want to find out what that thing is. I either need to tell the story or I don't." -Libba Bray

"Persons attempting to find a motive in this narrative will be prosecuted; persons attempting to find a moral in it will be banished; persons attempting to find a plot in it will be shot." -Mark Twain

"Life isn't a support-system for art. It's the other way around." -Stephen King

Go read my fics already! And please, don't forget to review. I know that I personally am guilty of not reviewing many of the fics I read because I don't know what to say besides "Good story, I liked it." That seems boring to me. If you're worried about similar issues, don't be! I'd love to get just a one-word review to let me know you read and liked.
