| Anastigmat |
Author has written 6 stories for Chronicles of Narnia, and Firefly. In case you're wondering, "anastigmat" is the name given to a type of lens -- four glass elements, cemented into two doublets -- used in Zeiss cameras manufactured in the early part of the 20th century. At the time it was quite a revolutionary piece of technology, though it's hardly a patch on the multiple-element lenses of today. Feel free to contact me: anstig@gmail.com "What it comes down to is that my interpretation of my work is really immaterial. I'm not really a believer in art and music being institutionalized or put in galleries or stuff like that. I think art is something for the use of the public. It's for the public to interpret it and use it almost like a sustenance to life. So it's the interpretation of the listener, or the viewer, which is all important. Authorship isn't questioned, you know." -- David Bowie, 1994. I concur. For the curious: my view of Narnian cosmology is perfectly depicted in this painting by Hieronymus Bosch. (It's the shuttered covers to the 'Garden of Earthly Delights' triptych.) Do note that, as of October 2008 and ongoing for the entire foreseeable future, all manner of things have popped up and required my near-undivided attention, so I can't promise regular updates. However, I do not start works-in-progress without knowing how they will end, and I write with that ending in mind. Just takes longer to get there. (Come discuss things Narnian over at NFFR -- they've archives, a forum, and a fascinating array of writers.) | |||||||||
