He didn't get to complete his statement, for Sasuke's clipping tone cut in, sharp, slicing and utterly uncompromising.

''Get lost.''

Kenjiro gripped the credit card with a trembling hand. What would become of him if Kai discovered the truth? But what would become of his wife and daughters if he didn't go through with the instructions he had been given?

The man nearly jumped out of his skin as he heard a quiet knock on the door. He barely managed to shove the card in his pocket in time, as he turned to face the person who had intruded on his anxious thoughts.

His heart plummeted. Kai stood at the doorway, staring straight at him.

Something Tangible has been updated at last! Hooray! Sorry for the long wait, SasuSaku fans. I'm quite anxious to finish the last chapter so I can get back to writing beyblade, which I feel I haven't done in ages! To all readers of Slave for You, hang in there, and thanks so much again for being so patient!

STORY PROGRESS

~Beyblade

The next chapter for Slave for You is still in the works. It's on hold until I complete my Naruto fic though, I'm afraid. I'm finding it hard to switch between the two, so I decided since my Naruto fic is very close to completion I'll finish it first. With that distraction out the way I can then focus solely on my bey work. Sounds like a fair deal, although I do apologise to my Bey readers for the extra long wait.

A LOT of people have asked me where my first beloved bey fic Blitzkrieg Boy has gone. The answer is I'm still reworking it! XD It'll be back up at some point, it's just not top priority. Be sure that when it is reuploaded, it'll be much, much better than it was before! I wrote it years ago people. I'd like to think I've moved on a bit in terms of writing skill since then ; ) Plus gawd, it was so OOC in places that I had to change that lol.

I've got a Kai x OC oneshot planned. Don't worry, it's not a Mary Sue x Kai fic. Yuck that'd be gruesome. DEATH TO ALL MARY SUES. The OC won't have a name, just a personality. Oh and SHE WON'T BE A BEYBLADER. I'm looking to write Kai in a more errrm...let's say challenging role XD It's a good test of how IC I can keep him so keep your eyes open for it. I like to throw in some variety y'know? Rest assured it'll be hawt stuff though! XDD

~Final Fantasy VIII - UPDATE!

The Final Reality: Children of Earth~ So I like, discontinued this for 2 years, and now I've uploaded two chapters. Have I lost my mind? Am I just being mean to my old readers? The answers to both of those questions are...err...no! It's still almost certain that I'll never get such a huge project completed, but hey, plodding along at a snail's pace is better than errr...not plodding along at all XD So yeah. Anybody who still reads it ((I don't expect many to anymore)), enjoy my inspirational mood lol. I don't know how long it'll last for but hey, I'm feeling pretty good writing chapters again. It's a special fic for me, not just because it's outrageously long. It's just so different from Beyblade and Naruto. I'm hopelessly fond of it. Oh and can I just blow my own trumpet here and say that ZANE AND VREYA RAWK AND I CREATED THEM. THEY BELONG TO ME MWAHAHA!! Which is why I'm pairing them DUH! XD

To the loyal reviewer DiamondDust~ I was thinking of posting up the next chapter for ages. You literally gave me the final little push XD So THANK YOU.

~~~~~Extract from upcoming chapter for my Final Fantasy VIII/OC crossover fic, The Final Reality: Children of Earth~~~

‘F'ck!’ Zane swore, skidding to a less than graceful stop at the sight of the dead end before them.

Vreya’s eyes widened as horror washed over her. The demonic monsters were right behind them. There was no time to turn around and find another way.

Apparently, Zane begged to differ. He spun back around and ran forward, catching a firm hold of her left hand with his right and pulling her along behind him. She stumbled, the Haste spell the only thing allowing her to keep up with him.

‘Zane, they’re right around the corner-!’

‘Just keep moving!’ He called back to her. He had a plan, something Squall had told him to resort to if the going ever got really tough.

It was damn well tough right now.

Somehow, they managed to round the turn before the creatures caught up. Zane’s right hand tightened around hers as he sped up. She cast a wild-eyed look behind them, to find masses of shadowy creatures in pursuit.

Trusting to Zane to guide her over smooth ground, she raised her right arm, eyes fixed on the hellish beings giving chase.

‘Holy!’ She summoned the spell, feeling the tingle in her nerve-ends as the magic travelled along her arm and materialised from the palm of her outstretched hand. The brilliant, cleansing light burst forth, forming an explosive pathway toward the enemy. As it smashed into them, many fell, buying Zane and Vreya precious seconds worth of time.

But many more monsters spurred forward, determined to annihilate the humans fleeing from their clutches.

‘Vreya!’ Zane’s voice made her turn her head back. ‘Holy’s not enough! Don’t you have a stronger spell junctioned?!’

She scanned her supplies in her mind. Fira, Blizzaga, Thundaga, Aero, Quake, Flare, Demi, Holy...

Then she found it. Meteor. But she had to use both hands to cast it.

‘Zane, let go!’

‘What?!’ He threw a look back at her, piercing dark green eyes incredulous. Was she insane? Stopping at a time like this was suicidal.

‘Trust me!’ She urged him. ‘Go on ahead – this spell’s damage radius is huge!’

Leave her? He couldn’t. What if some unforeseen evil snuck up on her? But he felt her resistance as she dug her feet into the ground, signalling for him to release her. He stopped in turn, hand still gripping hers, eyes fixing on the hordes of devilish creations lurching toward them.

‘Are you crazy?’ He demanded, flicking an angry glare her way. ‘Just cast it. I’m not going anywhere!’

‘I’m summoning Meteor! There’s a high chance you’ll be hit by any deflected matter-’ She argued, but he cut her off.

‘And you won’t?!’

‘No, it’s my spell! Trust me!’

He shook his head, eyes moving back to the incoming enemies.

He didn’t care. He didn’t. But she needed to survive if they wanted this to be over, and he couldn’t leave her alone.

Was that really all? The dread he was feeling at the thought of anything happening to her because he had gone to hide whispered otherwise. He angrily shoved the thought out of his mind. He was only doing as his responsibility dictated.

But since when had he personally become responsible for her?

‘Wait for me behind the corner of that building!’ Vreya told him, pointing at the one she meant. The creatures were drawing closer and the sense of urgency rose within her. She jerked her hand out of Zane’s and pushed him back.

‘Go, there’s no time to argue!’

He lingered on the spot, uncertain, eyes moving from her, to the monsters, then back to her. He then shook his head again, and swore in frustration, once again angry at his own lack of magic spells and elemental.

‘Sh't.’

Thankfully, but with great reluctance, he turned away and did as she had requested. Once he was safely out of spell casting range, she returned her attention to the task at hand. Concentrating, she held out both hands before her, calling on the powerful attack magic.

A sense of nausea filled her as the veins in her arms throbbed painfully. The spell was the most damaging in her stock. She was aware that Ultima was even greater, but she had yet to acquire any copies of that spell.

Her hands glowed as she whispered its name, keeping her eyes fixed on her target ahead of her.

‘Meteor.’

NOTES TO READERS

Ok I'm gonna clear an issue up now.Many people have asked why I don't write yaoi Beybladefics or stated in reviews my fic should have been yaoi. I write FRIENDSHIP fics. I don't write yaoi because it would be out of character for one thing and even if I kept them in character it's not what I believe the characters would errr.. like, do on the show or in their lives. And anyways I just don't write yaoi ok? It's not my style! Please people don't take offence. I have nothing against the people who do write yaoi and I'm sure there're loads of excellent fics out there that use the style, but it won't ever be in my fics ok? And no I won't change my mind dudes. It's something I'll never do. So yeah. Please respect what I choose and um, that's like all I've got to say on the matter! Thanx.

Errm, yeah and also. Some people gush over my Beyblade writing like I'm a celebrity, embarrisingly enough. It's v. flattering getting nice compliments, and thanks to everybody who's started an MSN convo praising my writing, but really people, I'm just a normal girl with a normal brain lol. I get asked a lot how I keep all the characters so in character and true to the show. Truth is, I just studied the character behaviour to death on the show before I started writing. I watched all the episodes with the BBoys ((it wasn't any trouble as they're so hawt, lol)), I paid attention to how they looked at each other, how they spoke to each other, the tones, the body language, their behaviour around other characters. It's all there, but people tend to be too busy focusing on their faces lol. Also, people tell me I write an excellent Kai in particular. I'm very happy to know that. I think it's so easy for people to write him ((and the others in fact)) all wrong. I cringe at all the fics that have him as some angsty teen who is all depressed, or love-sick over Ray, Tyson or whoever he's paired up with. I mean, dudes! LOOK at Kai in the anime (it shouldn't be hard to do lol). LOOK at his actions. LISTEN to his words. Then ASK yourselves the fundamental question: would anime Kai really act like this? Would he really confess his feelings 2 minutes into a story? Don't be afraid to move slowly in terms of character development. It makes it more believable. People don't change overnight, much less in 5 minutes! So that's my writing advice for the day. Or year rather lol.

Remember in-characterness is goodness! OOC is badness!

And to be honest dudes, writing Beyblade characters ((especially the BBoys)) has become like second nature to me. I don't even think what would Tala say to Bryan, or how would Spencer act if he found out Ian used all the carrots for snowmen noses. It just all comes naturally now. That's so weird and yet so wonderful. It makes the character interaction writing so effortless lol. It's the darn plots that take time to weave cleverly!

But yeh, I guess the main point of all this is practice makes perfect. Don't be afraid to experiment writing your non-fave characters. I was worried about getting the characters right when I first started writing Beyblade too and I still worry when I write new non-BBoy characters. But if you don't try, you'll never get anywhere! This is liek a fact of life!

Ok seriously enough lookie me so wise talk. Do people actually even read this? I'll just stop here lol. If anybody wants more tips feel free to ask not so expert me!

STORIES

I love writing. I've always loved stories, ever since I was a kid. Apparently I used to make stories up while reading books to my parents, much to their amusement, when I was a little tot. We won't go into that embarrassing matter any further than needed though lol. But I love picking up a good book and getting lost in it. Books and stories are magical, and I think not enough people are appreciating them these days which is a shame.

Strictly speaking, I've been writing stories since I was about 14ish, I think. I started posting stories here when I was 17, and they were bad to begin with. Just goes to show that time and practice really do make a load of difference! I learn more about my own style of writing every time I write a new story. Writing's a continously learning process people! Don't be discouraged if you don't start out that great. Practice and experience will change that.

Lol I just realized this sounds like I've written a great, multi-million selling novel and know exactly what I'm talking about, which I obviously haven't. I'm just writing based on my own brief ~looking back at how bad my writing was and how it is now~ experience.

~Final Fantasy 8

My main fic in terms of time-consumption and word length was The Final Reality: Children of Earth, a FF8/OC crossover. It's ridiculously long. In fact I think it's longer than a phD thesis paper which just cracks me up LOL. It proves I COULD DO A PHD IF I REALLY WANTED TO BUT I DON'T (SORRY MUM AND DAD XD)

Don't Do This and I Drank Your Love Poison are two other FFVIII Squinoa works I've written. They're bad now that I look back at them, but they were some of my earlier works here.

It's not very likely that I'll write any other FF work in general, because I'm so mad about Beyblade and Naruto. So sorry any FFVIII fans reading this, but I've moved on.

~Beyblade

Let's get one thing straight here. BEYBLADE ROCKS. Anybody who laughs and calls it a silly spinning top anime for lil kids doesn't know what they're missing! I love it, have done for years and that's unlikely to change. The storyline's cheesy in places and Tyson always wins but hey. I love it all the same, and I especially love writing stories based on it!

Most of my Beyblade works are based on Neoborg/Demolition Boys/Blitzkreig Boys. Because they're that cool and I hate reading how out of character so many other people make them in their stories! It gets me all mad and upset! So I figured I'd start writing Beyblade to change that. It's like the AngeLhearteD Personal Movement to Exterminate OOCness from Beyblade fics. Except I'm not really moving anywhere. Humm. Anyways, my fics will always promise to try to stay as true as possible to the personalities you see and love in the anime. Occasionally I'll write fics or oneshots from other character points of views, but they'll probably relate to Kai, Tala, Bryan. Spencer or Ian in some way or another anyways. And they'll also be in character. That's sort of like the trademark of my fics, I'd like to think. It's like..my quality assured stamp of erm..quality. Yeah. Something like that.

Blitzkreig Boy - complete - Kai rejoins the Demolition Boys in season 3. Lots of arguing and awkwardness, so if you like, have a look at it. It was my best work for a long while but Slave for You will probably be better as I've improved since then. Feel free to argue this point! It's being revised right now, so you won't find it lol.

Who I Am - complete - Kai decides which team he should represent in G Revolution. It's like an alternative to Blitzkrieg Boy. And it's my own interpretation, not strictly following the anime.

Reflections - complete - A Kai and Tala friendship fic. It's more on the angsty side so take a look if you're interested.

Rebirth- oneshot, complete - This is set 6 months after G Revolution and is a slightly angsty fic starring Kai.As the name suggests, it's about Dranzer returning to Kai after he lost his bitbeast at the end of G Revolution, to Brooklyn.

Infiltration - complete - Stars the Blitzkreig Boys again. Tala wants to sneak into BEGA HQ to get information in order to expose Boris Balkov to the authorities. He manages to drag someone along for the misson but will it run as smoothly as he hopes? Read and find out.

Phoenix - oneshot, complete - A Kai oneshot. Any girls who have a soft spot for Kai, read. It's written with you in mind!

Numb - oneshot, complete - Is a Tala oneshot, and concerns his possible feelings of being pushed aside when Kai rejoins the Demolition Boys in season 1.

Slipping Away - oneshot, complete - Yet another oneshot, that focuses on Kai's thoughts as he defeats Brooklyn in season 3.

Ressurrection - oneshot, complete - Sequel to Slipping Away.After defeating Brooklyn, Kai has fallen and is on the brink of death.But Dranzer is having none of it. Kai angst. Have a look.

Red Phoenix, Blue Wolf - oneshot, complete -Another oneshot, concerning Tala and Kai's personalities.

This Guy Called Kai - oneshot, complete - Comic oneshot. Just what is it about Kai that makes him so great and drives everyone crazy? Tyson questions this and tries to come up with an answer.

Perfect Model - oneshot, complete About Kai again. Kai having his photo taken to be exact. Yum.

Out of My League - oneshot, complete - What if Mathilda had been sent up to face Kai in her team's match against The Blitzkreig Boys, instead of Miguel? Set during G Rev, written from a terrified Mathilda's point of view. Same outcome as Miguel's actual battle with Kai in the anime.

Slave For You - in progress - Takes place after G Revolution, Kai's back in Russia, his gramps and Boris want revenge and blah blah, go and read to find out lol. Will have torture scenes and it'll be quite angsty too. Not your usual plot in many ways. Friendship fic.

Untitled - oneshot, complete - Awkwardness. Response to a dare I received by email. Read and you'll find out more. NON YAOI.

I love Naruto. The manga is so awesome, and so is the anime when it picks up and doesn't involve people staring at each other for 15 minutes xD

My absolute OTP and most favourite pairing in any manga and anime fandom is Uchiha Sasuke x Uchiha...I mean Haruno Sakura XD. It is LOVE! So I've started writing some oneshot/short story Naruto works, but my main priority will always be my bey fic. Still makes a nice change writing for a different fandom. I don't have half as much experience writing Naruto characters so I'd appreciate any feedback!

The Hunt - oneshot, complete - SasuSaku. Inspired by BlueGreenApples' amazing story, Color Theory. This was my first ever Naruto fic so if you read it, please make sure you review to let me know your opinions on characterizations etc. Thanks! It's about Sakura trying to escape from Sasuke, but he won't let her escape and hunts her down.

Flight - oneshot, complete - SasuSaku. A follow up to The Hunt, also inspired by BlueGreenApples' Color Theory fic. Basically another chase scene, but involves Naruto, a jealous Sasuke, and Sakura fighting Sasuke.

Something Tangible - short story, in progress - SasuSaku swap fic with BlueGreenApples. It'll probably be about 7 chapters long in total. Sasuke has returned to Konoha following the death of Itachi, Pein and Madara. Sakura and Naruto drag him along to a summer fair. Read the rest to find out more! Go NAOW!

A New Dawn - oneshot, complete - SasuSaku. A belated birthday gift for my friend Agent Kell. The final battle has been won. As Sakura frantically searches for her team-mates, Sasuke contemplates whether he is finally ready to go home. Set at the end of the series, as I'd like it to play out xD

Pandemonium - oneshot, complete - SasuSaku. A (very) belated birthday oneshot for the one and only Samurai-PET of DA fame. Set during Konoha's Invasion, Sakura regains consciousness to find that she is alone, surrounded by devastation. But the chaos of her environment is nothing compared to her inner turmoil upon seeing him clad in the cloak of the enemy. Fight scenes, flashbacks and angst!

Encounter - oneshot, complete - SasuSaku. A REALLY late belated birthday gift for my Twinny BlueGreenApples. Set ahead of the current manga arc, Sakura and Sai go in search of Naruto but instead stumble across Sasuke and his Akatsuki team-mates. My longest short story by far, it's a massive fourteen thousand words set across two parts! Geez. Hope all who manage to read it enjoy it!

~Noacat: I love Noacat. She totally awes me with her writing and I've got so much respect for this lady! We don't keep in touch as much as we used to, but I'll never forget her! She's totally amazing and her stories will suck you in like a vacuum cleaner. Am still devising ways to steal her (now not so) little cat. Unfortunately she's long discontinued her FF8 adaptation story, but her writing is top-notch regardless which story of hers you read.

~Akaiciel: I don't usually read many Beyblade fics for reasons I won't go into here but the fic she has written, Once Upon A Hallway, is an excellent representation of Kai and Ray's personalities. I highly recommend you read this!

~Faerlyte: This writer is amazing. Her fic, Wishing Star, has Tifa and Sephiroth paired up so well I wonder why the brains at Square didn't pair them up in FF7. It's such a great story and the girl has loads of talent, read it, it's so well written and I was hooked on it. You will be too if you just go and read it.

~Ashbear and Wayward: I'm not reading FF8 anymore these days, but Somewhere In Between still has me captivated. It's pure brilliant originality. GO READ THIS SECOND. This is without a doubt one of the greatest things you'll ever come across in your life. In reading terms of course.

~Chibi-Lothlen: My dear Chibi who I miss very dearly is such a great writer. Her Tala oneshot Frost Bite inspired my Kai oneshot Phoenix. Unfortunately she hasn't posted any new work in ages, so you'll just have to keep reading her older ones over and over lol. But since they're excellent you shouldn't mind! ~Carzla: Has written an awesome, and I do mean awesome, beyblade fic called Comatose, which is written from Tala's point of view. It is original, completely in character, and very engaging. What more could you want? This is well worth your time, so pay her a visit. Go read now and if you don't it's your loss and I mean it. She's also done a follow up called Comrades, which is just as excellent. It's my fave, and it's Kai and Tala friendship again. She's also a great person too.

~Sholay: Sholay is amazing. Sholay is fantastic. If you read the first chapter of her bey fic Sooryavansham: The Dynasty of the Sun, you'll soon know what I mean. Her descriptive skills put mine to shame. I honestly have nothing but respect and admiration for this very talented writer. Very few bey fics grip me plot wise, but I'm so excited for updates for this fic every time, which is a feeling I hardly ever get for bey fics lol. I highly recommend her work, it's in-character and engaing, so go and read it!

~brezoflower-: Amazing author of SasuSaku stories. I love her Naruto work. The only problem is she hasn't updated in like a year, and I'm at the point of despairing! Please update your work soon! If you're a SasuSaku fan like me, you'll adore her work. It's amazingly in character and just so fantastically written!

~WeLcOmE2pArAdIsE: Another amazing SasuSaku writer. Her fic The Murderer and I is addictive. Go and read it, seriously.

~Wicked Enough: I love Wicked Enough's fic Shattered Minds. Gawd, there is so much talent here. I'm eagerly awaiting updates to this story. It's brilliant stuff. I also love the Sasuke robot fic she wrote, it's hilarious xD

~BlueGreenApples: Color Theory. I don't think I've been so excited over a Naruto fic in my life. It's so amazing. Such an awesome fic that it inspired me to write two oneshot spin offs of it. I am totally helplessly addicted to this amazingly in character SasuSaku fic and eagerly await updates! All fans of the pairing go read it. All non fans go read too and become fans XDD AND in addition, BGA is an AWESOME person and my lil Twinneh xD You better leave her reviews or I'll eat youz!
