Goodbye Letter to FanFiction

April 26, 2009

Well, the time has come for me to admit it. It has been nearly a year since my last update, and nearly a year since i really used fanfiction.net at all. My time as a writer here seems to have come to a close. It looks like i never did manage to finish a chapter fic. For those of you who read and reviewed all of my scrapped stories, especially my most recent failed attempt Learning, you have no idea how much I appreaciated you and how sorry I am.

Unfortunately, it has been a long time since I have felt the need to write anything. I still read way more than I should, sacrificing hours and hours of homework and studying time to the depths of various novels, fanfiction pieces, and original works. It seems that my own meager creativity has petered out though.

I will probably still, occasionally, post one shots either here, or on fictionpress, though I am sure they will be few and far between. And I do, of course, still have all my notes and files on just about every piece i've ever written, so if sometime in the next few years (I leave for college in 2010) i get bitten by the writing bug again, I will take a stab at returning to ff.net. Until that day, if anyone would like to e-mail me about possibly taking over or rewriting Learning, please do, I would be more than happy to hand it off to a more experienced and more reliable writer so that readers can someday see some form of my original ideas made into something great.

Also, I am thinking about maybe becoming a beta, so feel free to e-mail me about that as well.

It has been a lot of years since i first stumbled upon fanfiction.net. I was a tiny eleven year old on winter break, wearing baggy tee-shirts and sweatpants. And now here i am, still young but so much older than i was then. I have seen this site develop and grow, and I have seen users come and go and magnificent fics begin and end. The marvelous thing about the internet and a site such as this, is that for the rest of time, people will have the opportunity to experience the same feelings of joy, excitement, anticipation, and sadness as a fic was begun, written, and ended. I am greatful to my years among the writers, good and bad, experienced and juvenile, of ff.net, and as a reader, for this community has seen me through my development from pathetic eleven year old to weird thirteen year old, to quickly maturing sixteen year old. I will always look back with fond memories at the sleepless nights of telling myself "just one more chapter", and of all the times i finished a fic so profoud that i just sat back and had a little bout of depression at the end of the suspense, and of all the school days sitting in classrooms thinking about what could possibly happening in the land of make believe.

To all those out there who have shared my experience, to any who have read or will read my meager attempts at talent, and for those who have not yet discovered fanfiction, i wish you well.

Love always,

Brea

Welcome, I'm glad you could make it. No major point in reading what's all below this before the lising of my fanfics at the bottom of the page, but if you're bored and have time to kill...my house smalls like pumpkin pie...sorry, got a little sidetracked. Anyways, I have made a point to slowly evolve this page over time, as more people checked it out...I've hit over 2,000 profile hits...not the point...moving on! I have made an explicit point to make it quirky and fun, I usually add stuff here when I'm feeling funny or sarcastic, and I'm usually in a good mood, so i like the current outcome of the profile. I have all sorts of interesting things about me listed below, so check it out

~Anna

P.S. I'm a cool person...so the voices in my head tell me... so feel free to contact me whenever, just send me an e-mail sayin' hi and I'll appreciate it and check out ur profile, so gimme a ring...so to speak.

Announcements

July 13, 2008 Chapter 7 of Learning is posted (finally) and chapter 8 (the last, though it may be split into two) is in the works and the epilogue is being planned. I also posted a poem I wrote for my english class called I am Javert which follows Javert throughout Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, and a poem called George Milton based on George Milton from Of Mice and Men.

June 11, 2007 I have most of chapter six of Learning planned out, just need to finish writing it and then edit and make final adjustments. I do have a good reason for taking so long, I'm extremely unhappy with the quality of my work, all things considered, I actually think it's crap compared to the works I read and if I hadn't written them, I probably never would've read them. On that note, I've been working very hard on developing the characters in chapter six, and I'll probably go back after I've finished the fic and re-do the first five chapters too. Only two or three chapters after ch6 is posted, though. SO it'll definitely be finished before the end of the year.

May 27, 2007 Allrighty then, I found my missing story, finished it, and posted it on fictionpress (it's called "The Club"). I haven't started on finishing the next chapter of "Learning", but I've pretty much got the chapter worked out in my head. I just posted a Harry Potter oneshot called "The Period" knowing Harry Potter isn't really necessary, it just deals with the evile (pronounced e-vihle) monthly terror that every woman gets for at least twenty years of her life, kinda funny, really sweet I think, definitely good for a middle of the night job, lemme know what you think...

May 23, 2007 Okay, I know, my fic really needs to be updated. I have a few ideas started for this fic, and a few scraped ideas too. Unfortunately, I recently went to work on a story I've been writing for about a year, and found out that it was't there. It's no anywhere in fact, and I'm not extremely happy about that. I have a few ideas as to where it might have gone, but until I either find it or get over it's loss, i probably won't finish the new chapter of "Learning". I am so sorry, but bear with me.

Sometime in early Februrary, 2007 Once again I have changed my name. I have switched Brea Anna and am now Annabrea Shaw, cause it's gotta last name and works not only for ff.net and mm.org and all of those, but it works as an actual penname as well. So yeah...

~Annabrea

Early January, 2007 Hi, I'm Brea Ann. I used to go by the penname PriestessKikyoMarie, but soon my only connection to the name Kikyo or the series InuYasha was through fanfiction and I got tired of it. I've been on ff.net for 4 years (had an account for three). I work really hard on all my writing and take pride in every work I post. See below announcements for more about me.

Fic Status

IMPORTANT!! If you are reading my fic and pissed because it's taking forever to update, I don't plan out my stories I write them as I go. Using my method of write as it comes tends to take forever cause I get writer's block real easy or I lose my orig. ideas. However! I am trying my hardest to get over this and start updating more often. Please be patient with me and if you have ideas e-mail them to me and I'll try to use them to get back in gear and write.

Learning - Ouran HS Host Club - Sequal to Unknown Romance, Kyouya works to woo Haruhi, Tamaki gets angry at Kyouya, and a mysterious stranger takes an interest in Haruhi. -Chapters 1-5 posted and chapter 6 in progress

Highschool Production - InuYasha - AU, the gang go to Shikon High, a typical High School except that the theater geeks aren't totally shunned by the rest of the student population, in fact, some of them are quite popular, including Senior Sesshomaru who's also the star football player and is dating slut extrordinare Kikyo. Kagome, a junior, and her friends are just excited to finally get to perform in the annual Upperclassman production. pairings Kag/Sesh San/Mir and rest undecided. - Chapter one in progress and won't be posted until 'Learning' is finished. Update 7/13/08 Due to the loss of my notes for this story a little over a year ago (I'm still pissed about that), it is very likely that it will just remain an idea inside my head and not come to fruition. If you have any desire to take this story on as your own, send me an e-mail and I'll give you the ideas I had for it. My only condition is that you stick to my original ideas.

My main fanfiction series is Harry Potter (In terms of what I read), and InuYasha and Yu Yu Hakisho are tied for second. I don't just write the pairings above, most of them I will never attempt, and I write for more than just those three series and plan to write for even more in the future, but yeah.

Yes, I ship Harry/Hermione. I am a MAJOR Harmony shipper. Yes, I realize it will never happen, I found a petition online recently through the mugglenet wall of shame, and was disgusted at the audacity some people had to demand that Harmony shippers are the only true fans and that the books must be 'fixed' because Ron/Hermione couldn't happen. It was stupid, I'm not like that. However! I've wanted Harry and Hermione to get together since she was unpetrified in the first book and after the fourth (in the end she kisses him on the cheek) I was begging for them to get together, but they didn't and so what. I still love the books the way they are, but fanfiction exists so we can play with the characters, with the creators work to make it our own, the way we want it, and I like to read Harmony fics, and I want to eventually write a Harmony fic. if anybody ever tells me that I'm stupid for shipping them, or tells me that we Harmony fans are the only real fans and that every one else is stupid and so on and so forth, I will not even bother to respond to the simple-minded person that cannot understand common sense or, the simpler option, anything I've mentioned above.

~Favorite Websites~

I'm a pretty boring person, nothin interesting ever happens in my life. So I find quirky ways to entertain myself.

1~ http://imdb.com/ - can spend hours searching my favorite movies and seeing if the actors portraying my fav. characters are in any other movies I've seen or enjoyed.

2~ http://breakthechain.org/ - I have spent hours browsing this wedsite. Then when people at school say "I got an e-mail that says this and this ans this." I can remember searching it and reading all about how stupid it is and where the rumor and lies came from, and tell them that they are extremely gullible for believing it. Plus, it's kind of interesting and somewhat educational to learn where all the chain e-mails come from, some date back to legends from the 1800's!

Family

My brother and I are writing a fic together, to see it go to www.fanfiction.net/~wam0366 and read the only fic on the profile.

Also, check out my sisters main account; www.fanfiction.net/~hyperactivedepression and her fics, which are cool...if they're still up.
