Author has written 16 stories for Outsiders. Constructive criticisms and suggestions for my own stories are more than welcome. I enjoy discussing ideas with other writers, so feel free to contact me if you wish. The status of my Outsiders fics: "Welcome to the Wrong Side of the Tracks," is completed. Thank you all for your input, suggestions and advice. It made my first fic much easier. I'm finished a re-write, but, please, if there are problems, e-mail me and let me know. Laura Jude moves to Tulsa to be closer to family after her father dies, and she quickly befriends fellow romantics and dreamers Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade. She is drawn into a strained and difficult love-hate relationship with Dallas Winston despite her best intentions. XXXXX "If the Sun Comes Up Tomorrow" is completed. Thanks to all of those who read it and had such nice things to say and such wonderful advice. When Laura Jude gets into trouble with the law, there's only one place to turn: Dallas Winston, who has more than a little experience ducking the law himself. The only problem? Dallas is her ex-boyfriend and they didn't part on the best of terms . . . XXXXX "Where the Rivers Meet the Sounding Sea" is completed. This is a further exploration of Dallas and Laura's relationship and takes place after "Sun Comes Up" and during the last quarter of "Wrong Side." This is the last fic where I will be writing that pairing, since I'm planning to move on to some more Steve- and Soda-centric fics in the future. If you do want to read more about Dallas and Laura, they are mentioned several times in "The Unfound" and Dallas makes an appearance. Laura has accepted a scholarship to West Virginia University, but Dallas isn't willing to let her go. With only a month to convince her to stay, will he manage to keep her with him or will his own anger and sense of betrayal cause him to self-destruct? XXXXX "The Unfound," is completed. It has a tie-in to MisoSoop's "Blindfolded: A Companion to Running in the Dark." She and I are working on a sequel that promises more Dallas and Alice and more Winston and Jennifer. Dallas' and Laura's son, 29-year-old Winston Snell, has learned much of his past was kept secret from him, including the true identity of his father. Winston has come to Tulsa to find some answers -- answers only the gang can give him. XXXXX "Anger Management" is a one-shot and was inspired by an off-hand comement by MisoSoop that Dallas needed to go to an anger management course. It's also very heavily tied-in with Marsonfire's "Middle Ground." Tulsa's juvenile court system is trying out a new alternative -- an anger management course for teen offenders. Two of the "students" in the pilot program are none other than Dallas Winston and Tim Shepard. Too bad for the teacher . . . XXXXX "White Wedding" is a one-shot and my only all-Shepard fic. In "That Was Then, This is Now," which is, more or less, the sequel to "The Outsiders" the narrator, Bryon, says that Angela Shepard had to get married to "one of her brother's creep friends," because she thought she was pregnant. This is my take on that. It's also got a very subtle tie-in to Marsonfire's "Triangle." Angela Shepard's got a big problem. Her older brother, Tim, has a solution. The only trouble is Tim's solution may be even worse than Angel's original problem. XXXXX "A Date at the Dingo" is a one-shot inspired by a line of dialogue in Marsonfire's "Triangle" and a passage in "The Outsiders" where Ponyboy muses on the differences between soc and greaser girls and their reactions to their boyfriends getting into trouble. I hate the title, but couldn't think of anything better. If you can, let me know! Steve and Sodapop have made plans to meet up with Evie and Sandy at the Dingo, but when they get there, they find an unpleasant surprise. XXXXX "Saving Grace" is completed. There are heavy, heavy tie-ins here with Marsonfire's "Middle Ground," because I love it so much and she let me. I consider these two stories to be existing in the same fanfiction universe -- only hers is better. Thanks for voting this "Best Drama" and "Best Sister Fic" in the Greasers' Choice Awards. Sixteen-year-old Grace Mathews is a free-spirted photographer who uses her camera in the same way Pony uses a pencil and a notebook -- to record a realistic view of life on the North Side. She adores her older brother and although they live in the same house, their social lives rarely interconnect. Then, her brother's gang is decimated by two violent, untimely deaths and normally cheerful Two-Bit begins an alcohol-fueled downward spiral into depression. Meanwhile, Grace is dealing with her own problems, including a rocky friendship and boy troubles. Grace is desperate to save her brother, but who will save her? XXXXX "Other Worlds Than This" has twelve chapters posted. It's a ghost story inspired by MisoSoop's "Running in the Dark," which is on my favorites list. It's also a crossover with Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" series, which is a supernatural/scifi/western. This is actually my own favorite. Thanks for voting this "Best Supernatural" in the Greasers' Choice awards. Dallas and Johnny learn that death doesn't mean dissolution and there are other worlds of which we are completely unaware . . . XXXXX "Long Time Running" is the promised sequel to my "The Unfound" and MisoSoop's "Running in the Dark" and "Blindfolded: A Companion to Running in the Dark". It's heavily supernatural and has a lot of Dallas being mean and snarky. There's hidden romance and a mystery to solve. It ties in with those stories and "Saving Grace". Dallas Winston has been given another chance, another lease on 'unlife' -- he's been made a Guardian Angel. But what is an Angel to do when his estranged son falls for his charge? Can Dallas prevent Jennifer's heart from being broken? And what is Dallas himself to do, when he's faced with an old friend who dreamed of something more, a long-time companion and a one-time lover -- all in Heaven at the same time? He'll need all the help fellow Guardian Angel Johnny Cade can give him. XXXXX "The Boys Are Back In Town" is basically a continuous series of one-shots. They all take place in May, June, July and August of 1966 and all exist in the same world. There's no overarcing plot line here -- just a bunch of brief snapshots of how I think the greasers might spend their summers. It will never be "completed" because there's no concrete ending. I suppose I will get tired of it after a while ... If the boys wanna fight, you'd better let them . . . XXXXX "Joker's Wild" is a one-shot I wrote for a writing prompt. The prompt was to write something about a canon character from an outsider's point of view. One of the boys gets hauled down to the station and questioned by a couple of no-nonsense cops. XXXXX "Looking for Trouble" is a one-shot featuring my OFC, Grace Mathews, from "Saving Grace," going down to Buck's place for a bit of trouble one night. It is set before the events of the book and before "Saving Grace." Anything can -- and does -- happen at Buck's place. Grace may have bitten off more than she can chew ... XXXXX "Dancin' Fool" is another one-shot I wrote for a writing prompt. The prompt was to choose one of a group of sentences to start a story. This story is an experimental first-person, stream-of-conscious piece from Two-Bit's point of view. Two-Bit thinks nothing's prettier than a girl after a brisk turn around the dance floor, but will the girl he wants to dance with want to dance with him? Okay, my obession with Matt has reached the point where I've now created a livejournal community just to discuss his movies and what an all-around great guy he is: http://community.livejournal.com/matt_addiction/. We're a super-secretish paramilitary ninja cult. If you love Matt, come on over! | |||||||||||
