Author has written 1 story for Ranma. Hello there, I am the author of Ranma Gets A Clue -- a romantic, comedy, adventure story, set in a continuation arc away from the established canon of the original series' manga and animé. The basic plot summary is as follows: What would happen if in mid-story in the Ranma 1/2 universe, Ranma slowly but surely got a clue? Nothing overt, nothing too rapid or obvious. But what if instead of constantly running from his problems with Akane, and his issues with love and what it means for him and his life if he has to make decisions and abide by them. What would happen if Ranma got a clue? Shall we find out? I am posting the eleven (now 12) chapters of the story here, but it is slow going, and fanfiction dot net's formatting leaves much to be desired for me. I am having to go through my original files and edit their spacing and line breaks manually, to get them to show up properly here. In the meantime, you can visit the website (use my profile's website link), and read ahead, if you wish. The story is complete. It was complete a long time ago. I am just re-posting it here, to try out the system. Also, can anyone explain to me why URLs I post keep getting eaten/not displayed by this system? What is that all about? Drop me a PM if you have the answer. I am curious If I end up liking the system here (and things aren't looking good, so far) I will also be posting a new Star Wars themed story I have been working on, when I finish it, and I may post an original story I am working on, set in a fantasy setting, if I can figure out if this site protects copyrights or not. Otherwise, it will just be fanfiction I post here. If I end up not liking the system here, then I will still post my Star Wars fanfiction to newsgroups, and a mailing list or two, and possibly mediaminer dot org, and most certainly on my own site. So, we shall see. Update: 2009-01-19: Okay, so my "notify the fans by private message" plan didn't work. Apparently you are only allowed to post 30 PMs a day. So, 30 of you got the notice, and any of you on my e-mail list. The rest of you will be getting an automatic notice through FF dot Net, when I post the story here in a little bit. I was going to put it off, but since I can't notify all of you whom I promised I would notify, I will put it up early. So, enjoy the read -- and those of you who had the 5 hours or so of advanced notice, enjoy being special ;-) Those of you who didn't get the notices, but were on the favorites or alerts list, blame FF dot Net, and their 30 PMs per day limit, and your screen name being in the lower end of the A-Z spectrum ;-) In other news, RGAC is done done done. dances I hope you enjoy it, I enjoyed writing it for you all. It is NOT a perfect story, but it is what it is, and I like it. I WILL be posting a new Star Wars themed fan fiction here sometime this year, so if you like my writing, brace for impact. If you like my writing, but don't like Star Wars, wait a while, and I may get the fantasy novel I am working on published. ;-) If you are dying for me to post more stories for you, leave reviews and stuff, as flattery DOES work ;-) -- Yes, I still intend to post an epilogue, no it isn't ready yet. Sorry about that, but this is a LOW priority project competing against girls, college and life. I will get to it when I get to it ;-) -- I have (obviously) hit a delay in releasing the epilogue for RGAC. I was originally planning on getting it out in the first few weeks of January. That, clearly, didn't happen. I can tell you that I am working on it, and I like how it is shaping up, I just haven't had as much time for writing lately, as I would like. I will still send notice out via PMs to those who have me or RGAC flagged as a favorite of theirs, when I do get it done. So, stay tuned. -- I have posted chapters 1-10 in their reformatted FF dot Net format. I have split the old chapter 11 into two chapters, and there is now a chapter 12, which I am trying to finish editing and wrapping up tonight (probably won't happen). Chapter 12 is now what was basically the second half of the old (really long) chapter 11. The epilogue is almost done, and should tie up some of the loose ends I left in the story. I hope you enjoy it. I will be posting the Epilogue on my site first (linked to from this profile), and I will be notifying via PM, those who have this story flagged as as favorite, or me as a favorite author, etc. You have very little time left to do that, IF you want to be among the first to read it, that is. If not, well, you will still get to read it -- just not as soon as everyone else. -- I have written the first page of the epilogue! I just wanted to put up a notice that when I am done with the epilogue, it will be posted up here after I have finished posting the 11 original chapters. However, before that, I will be posting it to the main site for the story, linked to from my profile link. If you would like to know when the epilogue comes out on the same day that I post it, then word to the wise, I will be rewarding people who have me either tagged as a favorite author, or the story as a watched story. I will be sending those people a PM on the day of the epilogue's release to the main site. That will be the reward of the faithful. Thanks to all of you who have done so already, or have left a review. You will be among the first to know when the epilogue comes out. -- Those of you looking for author notes, explanations of chapters, etc. can find them on the main website for the RGAC story, which is linked to from the profile link for my account. Enjoy. -- Some of you are asking why I am not posting the full RGAC story all at once. The reason is that the story looks TERRIBLE in its original plain text (.txt) file format, when uploaded here. So, first, I have to transfer it to an Open Office document. But even that isn't enough as it still looks pretty bad, so then I have to go through it line by line and remove all of the line breaks that were used in the text-only versions, to keep the story at a nice 72 characters row width (which was what was necessary back when I was submitting it to the RAAC newsgroup, and the FFML mailing list), and I have to add double breaks between paragraphs, instead of just indenting, etc. That is a rather slow process. Some of you also seem confused about my purposes for posting the story here, and the pacing. Know that I appreciate your reviews, and that I am happy you are discovering the story, and enjoying reading it -- but the story is more or less done. There are some edits I would like to do with it, and I would like to write a epilogue for it as well -- but I probably won't be doing that in the near future. I wrote chapter 11, the final chapter, back in 2000, and posted a final version of it in 2001, and I pretty much haven't edited the story since. I keep meaning to, and I keep getting sidetracked by other projects. So, pretty much the main reason I am posting RGAC here is to try out the system here, and see if I like it enough to bother posting my new fanfiction here as well. | |||||||||
