Author has written 18 stories for Harry Potter, and Supernatural.

Okies. Time to update the bio:

(September 11, 2008)

Just in case y'all don't wanna click the link below, I'm currently not anywhere near my computer - I'm road-tripping (and this post was courtesy of my sister's i'net connection) and so cannot work on any of my stories, check my emails, or post new chapters until I return to El Paso. I hope to be back home before nine in the evening (mountain time) on Thursday, September 28. I'm sure all my fellow Supernatural fans will understand why. New chapters should start to be posted for all my WIPs during the week following my return. Thanks, everyone, for your patience and understanding while I work on my real life stuff.

(August 26, 2008)

This is my livejournal, if you're interested.

I don't update very often, but some less ficcy things regarding my fandoms can be found there (though you might have to hunt a little for them - I've still not gotten the knack of sorting out the tag system). There's also an entry dated for today (see above date) that explains any lag in my posting for my relatively quickly updated works.

(August 6, 2008)

Just to let everyone know, I am still working on All at Once. It's just that the next chapter is being particularly tricky and not cooperating at all. I have no idea when it will finally get posted, but I hope the muse is kind and that it's soon.

(December 28, 2007)

WE HAVE A WINNER!

That's right, folks! I have a winner for my review contest - the ever-fantabulous rillikee has posted the two-thousandth review for 'All at Once'!

Speaking of that particular story, I'm working on the next chapter, but as of now I have no idea when it'll be ready for posting.

(December 3, 2007)

I've made a wallpaper .jpg of my Winchester definition.

Winchester Definition

(November 10, 2007)

In trying to get past a minor hit of writers' block, I ran off and read some Supernatural fic. I left this in a review, and ended up really liking it, so I thought I'd post it here for your entertainment:

Winchester: One of three stubborn members of the male gender, tends to attract bad luck, and has an overdeveloped sense of familial duty. Recognizable by their devil-may-care grins, hair-trigger tempers, and ability to bulls-eye a target with any weapon. Known to cause members of the female gender to spontaneously melt into a large puddle of lust-goo. Approach with caution.

(October 27, 2007)

Longtime fans of mine will notice that I've removed several of my WIPs. The main reason is that I currently feel that most of the stories I removed won't ever be finished, as their respective musebunnies have gone AWOL. If the muses ever return, I'm going to finish writing the stories before I start posting them again. As of now, I believe the only WIPs remaining are the ones I'm actively working on. The next chapter for All at Once isn't behaving at all, and so it may be a while longer yet before that one is updated, but I am still working on it.

Djinni Challenge: I have a soft-spot for horror movies, particularly zombie-flicks and movies that deal with genies. The following plot-bunny bit me a couple of months ago, when I was going through a ‘Wishmaster’ marathon. I’ve tried to write it myself, but I just can’t seem to get it right. Ergo, I ask that everyone who wants to, to go ahead and try it for themselves.

Premise:

Whilst searching for the Horcruxes, Ron mentions something about wishing they had a non-evil genie available to help with their quest. When Harry asks why, Ron replies something to the effect that a non-evil genie would be able to locate and destroy the horcruxes for them. Further information about genies and their creation gives Harry an idea; why not turn the Dark Lord into a genie?

Rules on Djinni abilities:

They have nearly-unlimited power, but it can only be used in the service of wishes. They cannot grant a wish to kill someone. They cannot grant a wish to restore someone to life. They cannot alter the true emotional state of a person (i.e. make person ‘A’ fall in love with/hate person ‘B.’) They are unable to grant their own wishes. They are unable to use magic within their ‘lamp.’

Djinni history:

Genies, or djinni, are the result of an ancient Sumarian justice-spell. If someone had committed a specific number of illegal acts, the ancient Sumarian government would bind the soul of the perpetrator, making them grant the wishes of the victims of their crimes. Once the wishes of their victims had been addressed, the genie would sometimes be released from the binding spell, though not always. Particularly heinous criminals would be bound to a physical object, required to grant wishes for the rest of eternity.

Nearly all genies hate the fact that though they have nearly limitless power at their command, they can only access it when granting a wish. Because of that, anyone who finds themselves to be the master of a genie needs to be very careful in how they word their wishes, as most genies will seek to cause their master as much anguish and grief as possible. The only known way to destroy a genie is to destroy the object to which it is bound – in ancient times, the object was usually a lamp or ring – and that object is rumored to be more difficult to destroy than a horcrux, which is an off-shoot of the djinni-creation spell.

Djinni-creation spell:

The spell to create a genie is located in the Magical Archives of Baghdad. You can fill in the details as you see fit, but I want the following to be kept as a part of it:

A. Requires the participation of a muggle, mage, and blood-kin who were wronged by the perpetrator.

B. The blood-kin in this instance would be Harry, simply because of the ritual in which he was forced to participate at the end of fourth year.

C. The spell itself isn’t all that difficult to cast, but it requires a potion which even Hermione doesn’t think she’d be able to do – it’s that difficult – hence the Trio needs to find Snape (or some other highly-regarded potions master) and convince him to help.

Djinni ‘lamp’:

The last factor I want kept in your version of this tale is the ‘lamp’ to which the Trio binds Voldemort. Since the Trio are all basically good-hearted individuals, they decide to bind Voldemort to an item in which he can be marginally comfortable. (At least, that’s how it appears on the surface. Each one has moments in the story when they realize that what they’re doing is really… cruel and almost-Slytherin.) Since they know that Voldie won’t be able to use magic while inside the ‘lamp,’ the bind the Dark Lord to a dollhouse – one of those highly-elaborate miniatures that cost thousands of dollars once they’ve been built. The kind that have working lights, running water, and working stoves. You can fill in the details as you see fit. In my own aborted tale, I had Hermione stock the dollhouse’s library with thousands of muggle romance novels (shrinking charms, anyone?)

Other things:

As I said, I had started working on this idea, but couldn’t get it to come together in a way in which I wanted other people to read. Some other things I have in my own version of this tale – which you can use if you want to, but don’t have to – include:

A. Ron making sure that Voldemort has a muggle chessboard in the dollhouse and scenes of Hogwarts’ answer to Bobby Fischer playing chess with the darkest wizard in an age, which Ron keep winning. (Ron’s not in the dollhouse, mind. It’s more like playing chess over the phone, with each sitting at their own board and calling out their moves.)

B. Long conversations between Harry and Voldemort wherein Harry’s Slytherin side works with his Gryffindor side to wear down Voldemort’s evilness. (Hey, if there can be hundreds of fics wherein Draco really isn’t all that bad, then it’s not too far out of the realm of possibility for Voldemort to ‘get better.’ Consider them mutual-therapy sessions.)

C. I never addressed if there were a limit on the number of wishes a person could have whilst master of the ‘lamp,’ and so in my tale the master of the ‘lamp’ could have any number of wishes they wanted, and ended their ‘turn’ by stating, “And for my final wish…” I also had Harry as the first master of the lamp, but if I ever re-work my tale, I’d probably change it to either Hermione or Snape. Harry’s first wish was to do away with the horcruxes – worded appropriately, of course.

Have fun, and happy writing!

CHALLENGE ALERT!

Oh dear lord and lady. I just got a plot-bunny attack. As I already have several fics under way, could someone else write this?

Harry discovers that Severus Snape is his father. But, there’s a twist. James is also his father. So is Dumbledore. And Tom Riddle. Harry’s really messed up, isn’t he?

Why: Dumbledore knew he wouldn’t be able to defeat Voldemort, so he set about creating someone that would be able to do so. Using a branch of illegal magic (not dark, mind you, just illegal – the same branch of magic that Hagrid used to create the blast-ended thingies,) he selected “magic donors,” based on their expertise in their given field.

Something along these lines:
Three parts Snape for dueling, intelligence, and potions.
Three parts James for DADA, speed, and agility.
Two parts Tom Riddle for Dark Arts and general good looks.
Two parts Dumbledore for Transfiguration and honor.

However, something went wrong when this was done, and Harry inherited instead James’ looks, Snape’s temper, Dumbledore’s sweet tooth, and Riddle’s Parseltongue ability.

That is, until Harry turns 17 and gains his magical inheritance.

The rest of the fic is up to you. You can add magical creatures to the mix if you want to. I think it would be hilarious to see a little Veela charm, Vampire hypnosis, and/or werewolf sense of smell (or Harry could just get really bitchy near the full moon… Somehow I can see him, Lupin, and Hermione in a full-out bitch session, complete with lots of chocolate…)

The only thing I want you to do is make sure that, if you include things from HBP, you make it some other teacher that Draco has to kill. And have him succeed at it. I want both Dumbledore and Snape available for a possible confrontational scene.

General Info About Me:

I love reviews. I practically live off them. I don't care if they're flames telling me I suck and should consider dying. I still love getting feedback on the twisted imaginings of my brain.

My birthday is July 1, 1982.

My favorites include: Harry Potter (duh,) most of Stephen King's books, the movie "The Count of Monte Cristo," Orlando Bloom, pepperoni-pineapple-black olive-green pepper-onion pizza, caffene, Camel Turkish Royal cigarettes, the colors silver and purple and black, System of a Down (specifically "Aeriels"off the "Toxicity" album,) Ranma1/2, and laughing with my friends. I recently (as of Oct. of '07) found the TV show Supernatural, and have totally fallen for Dean and Sam, so I suppose I should add the show to my favorites.

I like to read and consider myself to be something of an author, however I don't have anything published (except this sappy poem I wrote years ago.)

Favorite Fanfic Quote (it's from "An Army of Snapes" over at RS-dot-org, and is by Ladyofthemasque):

Did chocolate frogs dream of marshmallow sheep?

I have also located a nifty place to start archiving my original fiction. It's a site called 'WeBook', and you can follow along with my first submission to that site here:
